Random thoughts on a chilly wintery Saturday morning:

1. At the end of the month we are going on a 7-day cruise to the Caribbean.

I’m so excited.

Last year we went to Cancun and this year we are heading to the other side of the Carribean.

If you’ve been on a cruise before and have tips? Please send them my way. 🙂

2. I know it’s January 6, but I’m still in the middle of taking down Christmas. You are probably a little more organized than me and already have yours put away. If not? Here’s a great post on Christmas organization ideas and how I store all my stuff.

3. It was an amazing week on the blog (so many handmade Christmas presents). We talked about:

4. I have the best morning routine here.

I got off track with Christmas and getting ready for the cruise, but I’m back on track now for the new year.

5. It’s 2024 and I have a new game for us. Have you ever played “Connections” before? It’s on the New York Times Games App and it’s so good. Denton recommended it to me and I’ve been hooked ever since.

And now?

Here are some of my favorite finds from this week.

Winter has finally hit in NC, so a warm location with lots of sun sounds wonderful. Have fun and a safe trip. Indulge in all the tasty food and enjoy all the sights.

Hi KariAnne, I have been a cruise. My suggestion is to take a hanging shoe bag. (I got mine at Walmart) You hang it on the back of the bathroom door and use the pockets to put toiletries in. Hair dryer, curling iron, whatever you want to keep off the small bathroom counter. Makes everything organized and out of the way for housekeeping service too. Have a great time! You will love it!!!

We’re cruising too at end of January- wish you’d be on it with us! Our favorite mode of travel! Relaxing/fun/great people/24/7 food/entertainment… and all paid before you leave! I have lots of tips/tricks after 30+ cruises but I bet you’ll do fine without them! Don’t overpack would be my #1 tip! Just have fun! Can’t wait to hear about it ! Amazon has some really cute note cards I love for giving tips or notes to crew members- check it out!

Hi Karianne! Love your blog! My favorite cruise tip is the MIKEDE magnetic hooks from Amazon! They obviously stick to all walls in your room and we hang hats, lanyards, jackets etc! Have a great time! Melanie

Hi, Karianne, It's totally OK that your Christmas decorations are still up on January 6! I never start taking them down until after that day because January 6 is Epiphany, the baptism of Christ and also the 12th day of CHRISTMAS!

KariAnne you showed us all the homemade gifts you received from siblings, but what did you make, you never show us and I know they have to be great. Bon voyage

Dear KariAnne, Have a wonderful cruise. They are so relaxing. I don’t take my tree down till after the 6th for the wisemen and for me as I love Christmas trees!

Hi KariAnne, I just went on a Caribbean cruise. Many of the suggestions from others are all great. One other, take Poo-Pourri, the bathrooms don't have vents. So, this was a nice to have for the hubs ;)....because girls don't have this problem. I also liked having Turkish towels for the beach/snorkeling excursions. They are really light weight and take up very little space in a beach bag. Have a great time!!!

Lucky you on a cruise. You will have a great time. A lot of reads with my Sunday coffee. Happy day to you.

I so enjoyed our Caribbean cruise. You will, too! The food is fantastic. I often say that I went on as a passenger and came off as cargo! My favorites were the shuffleboard competition and skeet shooting off the back of the ship. Enjoy!

I'm late to the party--wanted to add that I play Connections and my daughter does, too. I find that there is a generational aspect to it--if it's an 80's theme, I'm your person, but if the topics are more current, then she has an easier time completing it.
