Someone wise once wrote:

Should old acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind?

I think that applies to rooms, too.

They are like old friends.

And for me?  2022 was the year of the rooms.

There were updates and refreshes and new additions and makeovers.

That’s why I write my tales and pen my words about rooms.  I want to keep them close and remember them all.

Today I’m sharing all the rooms along with Leslie from My 100-Year-old Home in our end-of-the-year series. In case you need a little room inspiration for your soul…

…here are my favorite top rooms of 2022.

And you’ll never guess which one was number one. 🙂

10. Nutcracker bedroom

I just shared this room, but I got so many comments about the pillows and the Santa that I had to share.

It’s all decorated for Christmas with nutcrackers.

You can see more about the room here.

9. Apartment makeover

I had so much fun creating this makeover with Westleigh.

We decorated her room in blush pink and cream.

You can see the entire room makeover here.

8. This painted floor bedroom

This is our bedroom upstairs.

We painted the plywood floors in a checkerboard pattern and I refreshed the room this year with a new rug and new bedding.

You can see the room here.

7. This blue and white and orange living room

I know this is fall and I’m posting this in almost-January.

But I can’t help myself.

This was one of my most favorite rooms this year (and I don’t even really like orange).

You can see it here.

6. This outdoor entertaining space

You know how much I love this outdoor pergola.

This summer we hosted so many fun parties including this charcuterie party.

You can see all the details here.

5. This office makeover

I think this room mini-makeover was so popular because of this simple and easy rug solution.

Layering rugs like this is one of the easiest ways to stretch a rug budget.

See the office makeover here.

4. This striped bedroom

This was such a fun makeover.

The stripes on the wall match the stripes on the curtain.

You can see how to paint curtains here and here’s the before and after room makeover.

3. Back deck makeover

Hello Cape Cod.

I’m looking at you.

This back deck makeover was one of my favorite “rooms” that we transformed in 2022.

You can see the entire makeover here.

2. Spring kitchen

I found this vintage truck at the thrift store.

It inspired this entire kitchen makeover for spring.

You can see the makeover here.

1. This flower-filled room

But of all the rooms in all the lands?

This one was my favorite (and it was one of my most popular posts of the year).

The room where two people that I love more than life itself said I do.

You can read all about the day a T-rex got married here.

And now?

Here’s what Leslie had to say about her most popular rooms for 2022.

“This is a really fun Top Ten list because I had no trouble picking out the ten most popular rooms on my blog in 2022. I love that the most exciting one will be finished in the next few weeks!

I love that some are in transition and some are completely done. And how fun is it that they are from three different locations?”

I must leave Christmas up until the 1st because we had to postpone our Christmas until the 31st due to weather in Ohio. But now Im wanting spring flowers back in my home. Floral materials, the scent of lilac. Your rooms you chose are gorgeous. Thank you for sharing.
