I don’t have the DIY to show you today.

I fully intended to with every single fiber of my being and the bobby pin I’m using to help grow out my bangs.

I was going to edit the photos and write out the instructions and astound and amaze you with my incredible insight into the world of do-it-yourself.

And then?

The superbowl kind of happened.

I wasn’t even going to watch it.  It was supposed to be background noise with the occasional running into the room to watch the commercials.  I don’t even have a team I’m rooting for.  I’m a Cowboys fan and we didn’t make it past the play-offs.

And besides.

I thought it was over.  I thought the Falcons had won.  Winning like hand over the ring and cue the gatorade.  Then just as I sat down to work on the post, my family called me in.  Watch this, they said.  You’re never going to believe this, they told me.

The rest is history.

If you are a Falcon’s fan, I’m sorry.  Truly.  Your team played with such heart.  If you are a Patriots’ fan, you need to send Julian Edelman a thank you note. 🙂

And for everyone else….

….here are some easy last-minute Valentine gift ideas to start the week off right.

Love the ideas~I have a stamping kit and may try to stamp out a message or two! And yes, even though my team was out, (Packers) I was hoping for a true underdog win!!! I missed seeing the Mr. Clean ad, but I loved that Lady Gaga showed off her talented voice and kept the show non-political...it ranks up right behind Prince as one of my favorite half time shows!!

Always great, Karianne! Whether it was planned or not. I have one question. I was hoping you'd mention what the white wreath is made of. I loooove it! Can you share? :D

Love the ideas!! And you are forgiven for getting involved in the game -- I wasn't rooting for anyone -- I didn't watch. At all. I'm a Colts fan. What I am a fan of is the fantastic food!! Yay!!! I think I'll make an I love you banner. And I'm going to send Valentine Day Cards to the grandsons. :-) Have a great day.

As un-American as this may sound, we didn't have the Super Bowl on at our house at all. We watched several old episodes of Downton Abbey instead. I really love the wood projects in your post. All of my latest DIY projects lately seem to include pallet boards. Have a great week, Karianne.

Love them all so much i can't decide on a fave ... i am equipped to stamp, (hey i want that wooden heart but maybe it's not on your list?!), the wreath is yum ~ i have so many wreaths & no doors/walls/shelves left ~ i love them! I just dont have a woodworking shop set up for the hearts & arrows! Since it's in the 70's here in the Dallas area now ... i'll forego the throw, tho it's a love, too! Think the wreath wins, going thru this rundown!

I love all of these ideas but I really need a new throw so I might just valentine myself this year... My all-time favorite, though, has got to be that stamped silver spoon necklace -- so unique and adorable! Lots of people had spoon-handle rings back in the day but how many people have a hand-made-with-<3 stamped spoon necklace? I just love that!

The wreath is on my project list for this week...a gift for my mom. I think I'm going to make it out of hearts though, using the same technique. We'll see how it turns out. I watched the Super Bowl while cleaning the kitchen and then retired to the bedroom to fold laundry and watch Victoria. It was soooo good. My boys watched the game and they said the game was good although they said the ads weren't funny, clever, or imaginative. Bummer. Have a great Monday.

You're growing out your bangs. I read a blog about a woman with the before and after who didn't pluck her eyebrows for a YEAR! Incredible result! I'm at month one and have already changed my goal to 4 months because it is driving me C R A Z Y! We women sure do have our long-term goal priorities in place! Your posts sure do cheer me up.

What a game!!! I was so sad for the Falcons, but WOW! And I have been stalking your blog, but you are too popular and I couldn't find the end of the comments to leave my own. So "yay windmill". I love a little gift from the Universe like that. Once, I found the exact ironstone pitcher I had been covering at Lucketts, but couldn't afford at Salvation Army for $5. I have never felt so loved. Also, I have decided that sacrifial bathrobe stories are my favorite. Hands down. In fact the only story I like better is when she is talking about "kudzu" in the book "Mennonite in a Little Black Dress", which is an absolute must read. Let me know if you can't get it and I'll buy you a copy. It really is that funny. Also, I am not getting posting prompts to my email any more. Did you stop sending them? Have a happy day friend, The Other Marian
