Random thoughts on an extra HOT Saturday morning:
1. I just realized something amazing. My favorite time of year is just around the corner.
Football starts next month.
2. A new episode of “What I Bought Wednesday” is live on my YouTube channel right now with the CUTEST way to organize your spices.
You can see it here.
3. It was a good week on the blog. We talked about:
- all about cleaning hardwood floors
- this fun wood bead basket DIY
- how to decorate with hydrangeas
- this 10-minute chair makeover
4. We just went out to eat with my brother and his family. I am so lucky to have a brother like him. He’s funny and clever and witty and sometimes he says what I’m thinking before I even do.
And his sweet family is even funnier.
5. I got a ZILLION questions about that linen apron I was wearing yesterday. Mine is super old, but I found almost the exact one for UNDER $16 here. It’s a linen blend and it has a cross back and pockets. There’s also another 5% off coupon good for today.
6. I am totally in love with my husband at this exact moment in time. He sweet-talked me this morning with the word “mulch.”
7. I tried out these little individual false eyelashes for the first time. Old school. These little pieces of lash that you glue on. They looked okay except I kept accidentally batting my eyelashes at random people. If you were at Scotty P’s this week and I gave you a come hither look?
It was the lashes, not me.
And now?
Let’s see what the internet has been up to this week.
Ever have questions about how high to hang artwork?
Here are some answers.
Everything you wanted to know about artwork on the walls.
Such a beautiful set of tomato cages.
They look like artwork.
I’m always on the lookout for a good chocolate chip cookie recipe.
Don’t these look yummy?
And Christmas in July?
Yes, please.
Especially if it’s as cute as this.

Come hither look…. Hahaha! I love your stories! They always leave me smiling!
I thought about drawing your attention to that My Scandinavian Home Air Bnb when I saw the photos earlier in the week since I know you sometimes offer links to that site. It's amazing and I could move right in. Always look forward to your Saturday posts. Have a great weekend.
I bookmarked that lemon sour cream pound cake recipe. Pound cake? Whats not to love? Thanks for a great week of enjoyment.
Thank you for getting my day off to a great start. Oh my goodness- you shared so many ways to keep me busy today! But, first things first- I will talk a walk-just like you included in your random news-important and necessary. Have a wonderful weekend. xx
This is a funny. You said you liked football; well, me too. Several years ago we decided to get a larger TV (because I liked football). Anyway off we went and the clerk kept talking to my hubby, like I didn't exist. Hubby finally said, "You need to be talking to my wife because she wants a bigger screen TV for football"! The clerk finally decided I was the "decider" spoke with me and we bought the TV!!
The menu board takes me back to when our kids were young. We had a similar menu board. For fun we would challenge the kids to decode what’s for dinner. Instead of enchiladas we’d write footalittles, sloppy joes would be neat son, or hot dogs would be cool cats and so on. Fun time had by all.
Oh, that little cottage from thenordroom.com! I think you are trying to get me addicted to all the Scandinavian sites. BTW, I've always loved your first picture, with the blue chairs and the outdoor dining. I know the reality of eating outside includes bugs but it looks so idyllic.
I fall in love with my husband every time he says the word mulch too KariAnne. I always love your inspirational features every Saturday. I have been wanting to make Leslie's tomato cages and really need to make time to follow through. They are the cutest. Have a great weekend.
KariAnne, You are so sweet to share my Christmas in July post. I appreciate you so much.
Don't ever stop telling memories the way you do, it's very entertaining and so fun. I can tell your a "child of God" by how happy you are, as we all should be!
BRAVO! Really great Thistles this week, KA. Thanks - sure look forward to these each week!!!!
Hi Karianne Thank you for the feature! I love it when my husband says mulch or topsoil.
