Random thoughts on a chilly January morning:

1. I cannot thank you ENOUGH for all the swimsuit recommendations! I ordered several to try and finally ended up with this one. It comes in two parts and you can order the bottom without the skirt (thank you for the recommendation on that for water aerobics) and I ordered a skirt for summer.

I was even thinking about this long sleeve to wear with the skirt for the Cape.

And the best part?

I ORDERED IT IN A SIZE 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Life (and this summer) are going to be amazing.

2. In decorating news, we JUST took the last Christmas decoration down. My husband had to pry it out of my hands. It was hard for me to let Christmas go this year.

3. I found this life-changing hair mask at Walmart. It’s under $8.00 and you comb it through your hair and wait for 30 minutes. It’s the best $8.00 I’ve ever spent.

4. Has anyone tasted the cauliflower rice at Chipotle yet? It is SO YUMMY.

5. It was an amazing organizing week on the blog. We organized the kitchen and the pantry and the office and the linen closet and the closets in the master bedroom.

6. I cannot wait to show you the CUTEST idea we just finished for a small office space. Tutorial and post coming Monday.

And now?

Let’s see what’s been going on around the internet this week.

This room just looks so cozy to me.

All that texture is amazing.

And this.

This entire home (and the kitchen backsplash) is so clutter-free and pretty

And one more for the road

I was talking to the twins this week about boyfriends and trying to help them understand boys.

It was a long conversation.

And then I remembered this.

This post sums it up better than I ever could.

Happy random Saturday to you

I love the laurel wreath! Can't wait to check out the tutorial. And THANK YOU so much for including me on your "random news" for the week. I hope people find my cut flower gardening post helpful! Happy Weekend

You’re the third person to recommend the cauliflower rice from Chipotle.. I guess I know what I’m having for dinner. Love Thistlekeeping. 🖤

We have a Chipotle being built in our town and I just said to my husband that I heard the cauliflower rice was amazing...but the Chipotle is taking forever to be built!!!

Do you have a Sam's Club there? If so, they sell frozen cauliflower rice for a fantastic price! I believe (trusting my bad memory) that it's packaged three smaller bags inside the one bigger bag. It's very good & so nutritious!

It's Thistlekeeping day! First off, congrats on finding a cute suit and I think getting both the skirt and the non-skirt options is a great idea. I like the rash guard and may consider getting one for myself--perfect for those chilly days at the beach. Anyway .... one of the things I like about Thistlekeeping is the wide variety you post--there is something for many tastes/interests to enjoy. An additional resource for make-up and hair styling on women over 40 is Dominique Sachse's Youtube videos. She is a news anchor in Texas (I imagine you have heard of her) and has a Youtube channel where she focuses on lots of different things including but not limited to hair and makeup. While her lifestyle is different than mine (hospital employees don't need to wear the amount of makeup that news anchors do), I have found her tips to be helpful and it's so nice to have someone over 50 giving practical advice. Check it out!

Karianne, you are going to love your new swim suit. I'm embarrassed to admit I have a polkadot deep pink 2 piece from Lands End that's now 10 years old!!! It still looks brand new. Thanks for the great links. I love the heart and pom pom garland, the Miss Mustard Seed paint posting and best of all the cutting garden guidance. I've been wanting to plan one for the spring but wasn't sure where to start.

Lands End swimsuits last a very long time, at least for me. Cute style too. Like the laurel wreath. The chocolate cake link did not work for me but no worries as I won't be trying that today. Boyfriend talk has to be an ongoing conversation, maybe one that lasts a lifetime.

You know I always look forward to your Random Saturdays, and today was no different. I have to say that pretty kitchen (the Kidd kitchen) just left me speechless. I absolutely LOVE everything about that kitchen and the way it ties into the adjoining sofa. GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for sharing;)

KariAnne, you will want water shoes for the water aerobics class. My sisters and I attended a class together while on vacation a few years back. I was the one with no water shoes who kept slipping backward toward the deep end. The class was so much fun, and my sisters and I had a few laughs about my difficulty staying in place.

Love all the features this week! Always fun to hop on over to the blogs and see what's happening! Hope you have a lovely weekend!

I agree about Lands End swim wear. Great quality. And separate pieces are the only way to go in swim wear to mix and match.

I have two of the rash guards from Lands End and I love them and the way they look with the swim shorts. Congrats on size 10.

Thank you the whole thing but especially the very last, Venn Diagram, that was the best. Have a great week with Spreadsheet!!

Oh love Landsend suits! BTW: have you heard the Leeanne Morgan’s talk about the Miracle Suit? Hilarious! And you are the most positive person! Makes me smile!

You picked a gorgeous swim suit. And whoo hoo on the smaller size! So proud of you. Your Keeping was awesome this week. I absolutely gasped at nearly every picture of that house tour. It was so perfect that I almost can hardly sit as I write this. Holy smokes it's gorgeous, KA!
