Random thoughts on a snowy January morning:
1. It snowed here in Texas this morning. I know, right? It only lasted for 7 minutes and I did see actual flakes. But now it’s gone. I put a video up on Instagram stories and Facebook stories if you want to see what a snowstorm in Texas looks like.
2. Since the twins started driving I got this app for my phone that follows them wherever they go.
The only challenge?
They can FOLLOW ME.
And when I’m running late and I’m leaving for somewhere they can TOTALLY SEE WHEN I ACTUALLY LEAVE.
I’m literally unsubscribing.
3. It was an amazing week on the blog. I showed you how I organized my pantry and we discussed the retreat that I’m hosting in Waco and we talked about not getting overwhelmed and how to declutter 20 minutes at a time and how to make a builder door look custom for under $20 and I told you I was worried I was going to get left behind.
4. But in amazing news? Next week is going to be even more fun.
Here’s what we are doing next week:
- Monday: A Valentine’s craft from the Dollar Store along with 4 other Valentine’s Day craft ideas

Kari Anne, What fun links and such great ideas you and your devorating blogger compatriots have! I will so take those and farm out to my file and friends who need them! I wish I had a mud room on our home... Hmmm! I do think the app for checking on the twins travel is a great idea! So what if they, too, know what's happening with you! Put it back on your phone and keep track of those precious girls! (Maybe they don't know it's two-way monitoring.)
You need to add Sandition, the new mini series of Jane Austin‘s unfinished last novel (starting Sunday on PBS) To your watch list.
We have already seen Sanditon in England , I loved it .... easy ,comforting , escapist viewing , a little bit silly but very enjoyable ! Best wishes from across the pond
Ooh, I've been wondering whether or not I'd like Sanditon. Thanks for the comments. I've been binge-watching Downton reruns lately. Tis the season for escapist viewing!
Oooh that stone castle house!!! Definitely going to follow along there! So many creative people out there! Thanks for sharing my organization project!! Have a great weekend! I think the app sounds compelling! What’s the name?
Well,, you will never believe what I asked for for my birthday, October 2019. It was doorknobs for our 48-year-old house. Ours were awful. Scratched, dull and discolored brass--U-G-L-Y!!! is what they were. Could not find replacements anywhere, so my husband had to re-drill the holes;and long story short--what a mess! I got fancy back pieces that really make my door knobs look special, like yours, and I am so happy!!! (They were 1/2 price too, so ten of them did not break the bank.) So even though it may be a simple thing to some women, it makes a big statement to me, to have nice doorknobs!!!
I love, love reading your blog and leave it open so I can go back and check.out all your suggestions while I wait for the laundry to finish up. Also, I have an app to monitor my kids' driving and whereabouts, too. Betcha it's the same one. Your girls may be different than my boys but my boys do not want to know where I am so they removed me. My beautiful mermaid picture no longer shows up on their app. So, an older man's told me about the app, and I was a people on the fence about it because...hello, helicoptering mama! But I did it anyway. And that's how I survived the first year of my son's driving. Turns out I may have told other parents who may have told other parents and soon the whole basketball team had the app installed on their phones. I heard a lot of groaning at first til the boys realized they could invite each other into their circles and see where they each of them were so it was easier to hang out and chill. Now my second son has it on his phone. Seriously. Call me a spy or a mom who can't cut the ties but that was the most reassuring way for me to see my son made great choices!! And I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
And I'm sorry I didn't proofread... hopefully you can figure out out...but my dryer just buzzed!! 😂
You touched my heart about being left behind.. please share more of your writing feom the heart. Love handing blankets on coat rack! I have tried everything .. baskets and trunks. But placing on coat rack organizes them but also makes them handy. Love a warm blanket! I think winter is suppose to finally come to KY next weekend. Have to get my birdfeeders ready! Do you enjoy feeding the birds? Just nosey like always I am. Looking forward to Valentine posts. Hoping to search your ideas for a foyer. Yes it is time to get this Tara Mermaid decorator I am act together! Enjoy reading way too much! Hugs from Providence.
I agree with the others regarding the tracking app. I was the best thing we ever did. It gave us peace of mind, especially when our (only), daughter was traveling back and forth many miles from university to home for breaks. Sometimes, I might add, at odd times of night! We still use it on occasion, and she's nearly 30 and married. Even now, I wouldn't do without it.
Thanks for the weekly wrap up! Excellent as always! Use the tracker app as we work alone out in the middle of no where. Want someone to find me if something happens!
As always so enjoyed, have a great weekend.
Is it Friday yet? I can't wait!
Here is another one to add to your watch list ... "Anne with an E", the Anne of Green Gables story. Initially, my daughter and I were put off by the ads we saw for the show but are glad we listened to a friend's recommendation. We loved it and hope there are more seasons in the works!
I agree with Sonya, "Anne with an E" is worth it!! Happy Monday KariAnne...have a great week!!
