Random thoughts on an August summer morning:

1. We are having a back-to-school brunch at our house in about an hour. I should be getting ready. I should be cutting up cantaloupe and washing off strawberries.

But I’m not.

I’m in here typing to you.

That’s much more fun.

2. It was an amazing week on the blog. We talked about a simple tip to decorate your walls and how to use what you have to decorate for fall and this amazing new watercolor artist that I found and how to build a faux fireplace surround.

3. Can you believe I just typed those words? As in back-to-school. Our school year begins Thursday.

And then?

I literally cannot WAIT. One of the twins is a cheerleader and one of the twins is on drill team.

It’s going to be an amazing season.

4. We went to watch a volleyball tournament last night. I know nothing about volleyball. Football? Yes. Volleyball? No.

Does anyone know why one of the players has another color shirt on?

I’m so volleyball clueless.

And now?

Let’s see what the internet has been up to this week.

This pretty home office

These incredible wedding cakes

This blue and white showhouse

These fun paint projects

This fresh take on a dining room

And when we were in Waco paddleboarding we tried to eat here.

They didn’t have room, but truth? It was even prettier in person.

One more for the road.

The girl with the colored shirt on the volleyball team plays the back row and can stay in the whole game, doesn't have to be substituted so you always have a good player on the back row!

In my head you and Joanna are friends! She reads your blog and when you go to Waco, she has you over at the farm where the two of you sit on the front porch sipping iced tea and munching on homemade cookies! Well, that's the way it should be ...in my head! I mean, weren't you guys friends at Baylor? Haha Happy back to school to you and yours!

I can't even say the words - "back to school" yet! We still have a couple weeks left since in NJ, most schools don't start until after Labor Day. As much as I love fall, I am still savoring every last bit of summer...although your pretty fall inspiration pictures have me thinking! I must admit, I am excited about decorating for fall again! Enjoy your weekend! Shelley

No idea about volleyball, as my boys play football. Unfortunately though, I really don't know much about football either. :) But i'm a good cheerleader in the stands! Love your Random News this week. I think I might try that on my blog. Have a great week friend!

I can't get the blue and white show house out of my mind. Everything about it was awesome and the attention given to small details were awesome. Of course, the blue and white, was outstanding in each room. I sure could live there in a heart beat if I had housekeeper and gardener. LOL

I just cannot "do fall" yet! Everything is beautiful but I need to keep that on the back burner until the end of September.

Happy Saturday! 🥰 I love Fall and I am starting to “think” about decorating for it, but I won’t until next month when it starts to look and feel like it. I love Fall! 🍁🍂🧡

If you look up “libero,” you will find out all about the girl who wears a different colored shirt in volleyball.

Love all the ideas-have used the coffee bar idea ever since I saw it. Perfect for overnight guests. As always you put together the best ideas ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The girl in a different color shirt is the “Libero”. Generally speaking, she’s receives the ball and digs it to the Setter. Volleyball is awesome and inside so no freezing in the cold or rain! Enjoy and good luck!!

Oh my gosh school starts so soon for your kids! My son still has another month to go. They pushed the start date back because they are doing a bunch of remodeling though. Although he isn't bummed, he has had a super long summer ha ha!

There is no better way to start the day than with my coffee and Thistlekeeping. Oh, how I love that blue and white showhouse! There is so much inspiration there. As for painting projects, painting my front door is a project I need to get to before the cold weather sets in. Have an amazing week, KariAnne!

Best wishes to your girls for a wonderful school year! Enjoy football season and all of the fun it will bring! I'm holding onto summer for a couple more weeks before my son heads back to college and my daughter will be a senior in high school. As for me and my husband, we will both be starting our 25th year teaching!

There is such a wealth of information that my head is swirling! I felt like a jumping bean going from link to link soaking it all in! 😄 Thank you KariAnne for always sharing a plethora ideas!

The "Libero" is a back row defensive specialist. She has specific rules: she can come in for a player without the typical subbing-- just switches in-typically she will be the first to serve.. but she can only play in the back row.. so she must switch back out when her position would be rotating into the front row... but she can then switch in on the next rotation for the next girl rotating into the back row serve position, after that girl has served, because you can only serve once in a full rotation -- -so, the libero can be in the back row almost the whole rotation. Usually a tall girl or high jumping girl will do the switching with the libero, so there is always a tall girl rotating into the front row for blocking and spiking and the libero defends the back row with digs, etc. It's so fun to watch!!!
