Lemon Rosemary Room Scent

Random thoughts on a wet, rainy May morning:

1. We are heading to Waco to pick up one of our chicks this morning. Just in time for Mother’s Day. I’m so happy that my heart is bursting.

2. It was a good week on the blog. We talked about the one thing we did to get our backyard ready for summer and learned that the best inspiration is a deadline and discovered a planter with superpowers.

3. Have you ever tried those magnetic falsh eyelashes before? I’m thinking about it. Should I go first?

4. I read the best inspirational thought this week that went something like this.

If you had $100,000 dollars and someone stole $10 from you what would you have left? 99,990 dollars. That’s a lot of dollars in your bank account. Now, what if you compared that to time? You have hundreds of thousands of seconds in a day. What if someone says something negative to you that takes up 10 seconds of the day?

Why do we focus on that 10 seconds?

We still have HUNDREDS of thousands of seconds left of wonderful, amazing things in our life.

Don’t let someone steal your time.

Or your joy.

And now?

Here are some of my favorite things from the internet this week.

I’ve always wanted to try this.

Great tips and ideas on how to turn a piece of furniture into a sink.

See the DIY here.

Did you know you could make your own potato chips?

And these look super yummy.

See the recipe here.

Nothing is better than thrift store shopping.

Except decorating with them.

See all the thrift store decorating here.

I’ve never been to Paris.

But now I feel like I have.

After this beautiful post and pictures.

And in random news this week:

This inspired me

Blue and white and coastal

This beautiful bedroom

These unexpected curtain ideas

The Full House home is for sale

This before and after (I love the rug)

DIY light string planters

How to make faux brick panels look real

You have to see the lilacs on this post

And in case you like a farmhouse find?

I have a post full of them you can see here (complete with a video of me finding them).

And they all came from WALMART.

Happy Random Saturday to you

This post reminded me of an article I read a few years ago that changed the way I live in my home. The basic idea is that we spent so much time, money and energy on designing our homes for the special occasions that we forget to live in the day-to-day moments. Wishing you a stress free Mother's Day.

I love your math!!! You are right about not focusing on the 10 negative seconds (but the math answer is $99,990) but for some reason we do let others affect our spirit........ Happy Mother's Day to you. Nothing better than waking up on a Saturday morning and having coffee with Thistlewood Farms!

Great insight....a wonderful way to stay focused on the positive 👍 I’m too nervous to try the magnetic eyelashes. Not sure why......let us all know if you feel daring 😊 Have a wonderful Mother’s Day 🌺

I have had some magnetic lashes ~ never could get them on! If you have your girls help you, maybe you can! Also, the brand I got are nowhere near as wide as other false ones, nor as wide as my own eyelashes! For me, I’ve decided that lash growth serums are the way to go! I have personally seen how R + F (don’t know if I can say the name? DM me!) doubled one daughter’s lash length and thickness ~ she can feel them touching her glasses!! I really don’t want to spend that much money, but I’m slowly weakening. For now, I’d rather spend much more on sampling numerous other brands that don’t work as well, I suppose ... 🤷‍♀️ Duh! If you have a Sally nearby, I saw their Ardell products are on sale. I ordered mine online, but I think they make some magnetic lashes ...

Oh, and ... Yes, dear friend ~ Happy Mother’s Day. I know yours will be extra special with the college chick home!

Magnetic lashes. I get so tired of putting on mascara. (blond lashes) I tried the very expensive ones they put on at the salon, but they have to be redone every 2 weeks, which is a hundred dollars each time...no way. Plus they kinda look like fuzzy caterpillars. Fun for special occasions. Last year I tried the Magnetic Lashes. I like to think I am handy and sort of adept, but I could not get them on for the life of me. Had to send back. As far as special occasions you can buy a pair of lashes at MAC for not too much and they will put them on for you there. Another thing I can not get on myself. I use latisse for growth, it works. Clearly I will try anything!

I LOVEDthe galvanized trays!!! So, I ordered 5, yes 5, more. I gave one to my daughter-in-law this morning as a Mother’s Day gift and she and my son loved it, too! They are working on their patio, unbeknownst to me, and she told my son that now she could feel safe about bringing out glasses of sweet tea using this great farmhouse tray. I’m anxious to see what our two daughters and other daughter-in-law think of theirs! The other two.? One is on my newly renovated island and the other is on the back porch where I took glasses of sweet tea out! Thanks for the great tip!

I love the comparison with the $10 and the 10 seconds. What a great way to look at it! Let us know about the lashes. ☺️ Happy Mother’s Day! 💗💐💜

Still waiting on lilacs here. Spring is slow to pop in the mitten state! Do you get them where you are, KariAnne? I can't tell you about magnetic lashes but I can tell you that I've made homemade potato chips in the microwave and they are to die for! I was pleasantly surprised at how good they were--like kettle chips. Have a joy-filled Mother's Day!

Happy Mothers Day. Don't get the magnetic lashes! You will never be able to get them on. Use your money on something else more enjoyable. I couldn't return mine, so I was out that money. Think of the fun I could of had thrift shopping. Darn old lashes.

Funny,,. just the other day I realized that I was letting negative thoughts slip into my head, especially when I was doing sort of mindless tasks, like lawn mowing. I felt so much better when I made myself focus on the task, appreciating the fresh cut grass (achoo!) the spring flowering trees and the sun that finally broke through for one day her in central upstate NY. BTW, once again you have shared so many other talented bloggers with your followers, and I loved all of their posts as well as yours. Have a joyful Mother's Day.

Happy Mother’s Day! As for those magnetic eyelashes. Some girlfriends and I tried to put them on a friend last year and it was the most comical event ever. We were never successful at getting them on but we sure had a great time trying.

If you had $100,000 dollars and someone stole $10 from you what would you have left? 999,990 dollars. NOPE! You'd have $99,990. I wish it was the other way, but, alas.... Also, not doing the magnetic eyelashes. They seem like they'd be heavy, and not comfortable. SO sorry to be such a negative-Nelly.
