If you were here yesterday then you know this is the week of the spring refresh.
We spent Monday in the living room talking about spray tans and styling this blue and white tray.
And today?
Today we are in the kitchen.
Before I talk about what I found, I have to share a yard sale update. Remember when I filmed this video of my yard sale finds and I showed you this magazine holder I was making over?
Can you spot it there on the counter?
The one that’s painted white with a monogram on the end of it and blue and white plates inside?
It’s ready for summer.
And now, if you are just joining us, my friend Leslie and I are going to go through our entire house this week and refreshing it room by room with a new item for each space.
We’re picking the same type of item, but each of us is going to feature that item in our own style, in our own spaces and today is all about the kitchen.
I found something for the kitchen that I couldn’t wait to order because IT HAS OVER 16,000 reviews on Amazon.
Can you guess what it is?
I was a little skeptical at first.
Why all the reviews? What in the world was so exciting about plastic tumblers?
And then?
They showed up.
Y’all.
Y’ALL.
They are perfection.
Seriously.
First of all, they are big. Each glass holds 24 oz. which is awesome for summer and flavored water.
Secondly, they look like glass, but they are plastic. Amazing for the pool and outdoors and picnics and generally summer activities.
Thirdly, they come in a set of six and their shape is so modern and classic and they are solid. They are made of a thicker plastic that feels so expensive.
You can see the entire set of six here.
My napkin holder is sold out, but here’s a link to a similar one.
I also found these paper plates for all the summer picnics and outdoor meals.
They are so pretty.
They’re from a brand called Kate Aspen and they come in the larger size and a smaller dessert plate.
Here’s a close-up of the larger blue and white plates.
The edges are scalloped and with a blue and white willow pattern.
Those polka dots on the inside are the cutest.
Here’s a close-up of the smaller plates.
They come in a set of sixteen with these scalloped edges, too.
They are SUPER reasonably priced and perfect for outdoor entertainment or a wedding shower.
My kitchen is READY for summer thanks to these glasses.
And if you are wondering what to put in them?
I have a few suggestions.
Here’s the simple easy recipe for my mother-in-law’s peach tea.
We make it for every party and everyone always asks for the recipe.
Here’s another idea.
What about a skinny strawberry smoothie?
You can make this with three ingredients here.
Then fill the plates with these snickerdoodles?
And your kitchen will be ready for summer, too.
If you have any questions on anything else in the space, you can always shop my house here.
I’m doing an entire tour of the space on Instagram later and Leslie and I are going to share a new room and a new find each day this week.
Want to see what kitchen find she picked?
It’s so pretty!
Wasn’t that fun?
A new set of glasses and blue willow paper plates.
A little spring refresh.
A space that makes me so happy.
And there’s always tomorrow, too.
I can’t WAIT for you to see what I found for the dining room.
[…] Farms, styled her kitchen too. Her awesome new find can be seen in her blog post titled Look What I Found for the Kitchen. Be sure and hop over to her blog to see what she has […]
I love glasses, these included, but, do they stack? Since I have so many my space is at a premium 😂.
I am loving the paper plates. I thought they were dishes until I read otherwise. Pretty pieces and yes I'll take a snickerdoodle, please. Cindy
Are you possibly having a graduation party this spring? If so I would LOVE to see your ideas! Those cute paper plates got me thinking that I need to get planning. Thanks!
Me too Debbie! My son's graduation is next week...perhaps I need to get on the ball! I would love some ideas!
I'm not in need of glasses currently but I do like those! The paper plates are so pretty. As a heads up, the Dollar Store currently has beautiful paper plates/napkins available--I think they are intended for Mother's Day but I bought some "just because". They would work well for a variety of spring/summer outdoor celebrations and you can't get much more cost effective. Changing the subject, what's your verdict on spray tans? I've never tried them and would probably only do it if I had an event coming up. I'm working on learning to love my pale skin. :)
Hi Karianne, Love the magazine stand conversion and the blue and white paper plates! I was wondering where you got the cut out monogram? I think I've seen them on one of your prior blog episodes...maybe porch planters? Did your talented hubby make them?
Love how fresh and summer ready your kitchen looks. Love the initials on the former magazine holder now plate holder.
I love your style! Where did you find the hob nail or knobby white container you are using for a wooden spoon holder?
Suzyque, I love, love, LOVE it! I just ordered it off Amazon, too. But it already sold out! Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08NK798K1/ happy day!KariAnne
KariAnne, you came up with such a clever makeover and use for that magazine rack! Will you be sharing how you did it? Have an amazing day!
Yes! And I have a whole new video on my yard sale finds from this week! There were so many fun things! KariAnne
I love, love, love...did I say LOVE...those blue and white paper plates. Soooo cute! Thank you for all your finds. 😍
Love the magazine rack makeover and everything else! Do you have a source for the cake stand or pedestal that the paper plates are sitting on?
I hope there's a post coming for that cute magazine holder. I love those paper plates, beautiful, thanks for this post.
Cutest paper plates EVA!!! xoxo
