I have really really big news.

Giant.

On the big news scale……if 1 were having an amazing hair day and 100 were winning the lottery and moving to Borneo….

…..this would be a 99.999999.

I think I would love Borneo.

I can’t tell you exactly yet (mostly because I keep thinking they are going to change their mind)…..

…..but it involves a magazine and lots of cameras.

Christmas_Tour

An amazing magazine.

The kind of magazine if you were stranded on a desert island and you could only choose one magazine to bring…..it would be this one.

I still can’t believe it.

Seriously.

So to say I’ve been decorating and painting base boards and shining up the wood floors and cleaning up the back porch and trying to decide what an amazing magazine would like to see on the front door…..

…..is an understatement.

Hopefully when I greet them it will look like this…..with an amazing wreath project like one of these…..

….and plenty of red lipstick and big earrings. 🙂

You totally deserve this feature! I can't wait and I will buy whatever magazine it is in ,if I don't already subscribe. I've heard from other people who have had their home featured in a magazine that they come in an move things around a bit and bring some props. Although your house in perfect in my eyes so they don't need to bring extra stuff but, they might anyway.

  12. Image for Tardevil Tardevil

Congratulations! Every rockstar deserves a magazine feature! ;o) I really don't know how you do all that you do, but you are awesome!

  13. Image for GinaE GinaE

Well, I've said ever since I've been reading you that this would happen. Just think the magazines are a bit crazy for taking so long to show your beautiful home and how talented you are. The wreaths are great too. How did you know the magnolia leaf wreath is what I have been looking and looking for? Problem is I don't have a tree to get leaves from to make my own. Also, love the simplicity of the twig wreath with just the little bird. Perfect. Can't wait for the magazine feature to show what a real Rock Star's house looks like! Congrats Karianne!

  14. Image for Brandy @ The Prudent Homemaker Brandy @ The Prudent Homemaker

I have a magazine dream too and maybe one day . . . I'm excited that it's your favorite one!

  15. Image for SuzyMcQ SuzyMcQ

So very happy for you Kerianne! I can not begin to understand the amount of time, energy, blood, sweat, and creativity you pack into a day! You give your heart and soul to everyone you touch and I can not imagine another person more deserving of a feature spread in our favorite magazine. A HUGE congratulations to you and yours!

  16. Image for Kari Kari

Congrats KariAnne!! Someone else on here said it was just a matter of time and I think we all feel that way! I am so happy for you and you absolutely deserve to take pride in all you have done to get this "token" that says, YOU ARE a ROCK STAR!! - (of course I'm quoting someone else here, but she won't mind ;0) There is so much work in all you do - I'm just amazed some days when I see you've done more to your house and have another project it's all I can do to stop and say "Hey, wait! Wait! What is this Algebra again? I'm still on project #4 and you're on, (what are we on?) Project #136! And that's for the week!" I am just so happy for you. I needed to hear some good news today and this is the best. Love that smiling face that makes all these other faces smile too.

  17. Image for Melinda Melinda

Congrats, Karianne! I am not surprised at all...your home is my favorite in blog land. As a matter of fact, I think you should just have your own magazine....yes that's a prediction!

  18. Image for Linda Andersen Linda Andersen

well, it's about time!!! you are my most favorite blogger ever!!! I think you should have your own show for pete's sake!! I mean lets face it you just really should...pleeeeease don't keep us in suspense too long!!!! congratulations!!!!! Linda

  19. Image for Kris Kris

Ha! The only magazine my house would end up in would be the house version of the Glamour "don't" (remember that column? People on the street with their eyes blocked by a black rectangle and "don't!" stamped across their bad fashion choices). Congrats to you. Looking forward to details.

  20. Image for Mike (CraftyDad) Mike (CraftyDad)

Ding-Dang! Double-woot! And all the other expressions of joyful happiness. That IS big news. (Even though we really don't know the name of the magazine.) I have a couple that I'm thinking of...and will keep them to myself. ; ) Congratulations! Can't wait to learn more! --Mike

  21. Image for Sue Sue

Congratulations KariAnne! I am so excited for you and so happy to see one of your dreams coming true - you are a true rock star and you totally deserve it!

  22. Image for Lisa Lisa

Hi Karianne, sounds like the BEST NEWS EVER!! We love big news too. I just bought a holiday magazine and I spotted your home in it too. I was so excited to see that too. You are always a HUGE inspiration and a happy place to come when I have coffee. Have a wonderful day, Lisa

  23. Image for Sarah L Sarah L

Very exciting news! I was hoping you would say "I'm coming to Oklahoma for a workshop!" , but the magazine shoot is still so so wonderful!! Congratulations!! You should put hidden things in each of the shots as a scavenger hunt for your blog followers to look for when the magazine comes out!

  24. Image for Brandy @ The Prudent Homemaker Brandy @ The Prudent Homemaker

I just read the magnolia wreath tutorial--lovely! I was really excited when I saw where you purchased your wreath form! I do want to know how long it lasted for you, as that's not the kind of wreath form that one gets wet. I don't have a magnolia tree (I wish!) but I really want to change the wreath situation here this year. I have double doors and only one old wreath that I made 13 years ago. I have to glue things back on it every year and it's time for replacing it. But my budget for doing so is in the range of your magnolia wreath price ($1 each!) so this was wonderful. I'm always pleasantly surprised at the cost of your projects. It makes me rejoice!

  25. Image for Sharon in Chicago Sharon in Chicago

Well, DUH!!!! Of course a magazine is coming to shoot your house(s) -- can't wait to see which one (or should I say which oneS as I'm sure there are other magazines clamoring to be dazzled by the red lips and earrings).

  26. Image for Heather Heather

another thing to check off the KariAnne is a rock star bucket list....hehe. ;) I'm so excited for you!! I may have to drive up there just to get in on the action. lol Love ya my talented friend...to the moon and back! Heather

  27. Image for Lois@pineridgehills.com Lois@pineridgehills.com

I expect nothing less from you!!!! It should be Traditional Home or House beautiful, or perhaps Country Home? maybe Better Homes & Gardens.....Well you will do justice to any magazine! after all you are a Rockstar!!! Go get em! lois

  28. Image for Trina @ afewmineradjustments.blogspot.com Trina @ afewmineradjustments.blogspot.com

That is wonderful news and I bet you can't contain your excitement! I look forward to hearing more about it! PS...I had a dream the other night that you and your kids were sitting around the table eating pizza and there was music playing, but no talking. It turned out to be a Papa John's commercial. If you don't have one there, it is a pizza chain around these NY parts. It was a weird dream, but maybe it was foreshadowing of things to come ;) Congratulations! Trina

  29. Image for Donna Donna

Congratulations!!! So very happy for you. KariAnne, thank you for sharing your beautiful home and wonderful stories. You bring joy, inspiration , an occasional tear and lots of laughs with your blog. I have even started looking for that perfect red lipstick!

Do you have a tutorial on the magnolia wreath? I've been making them for years, but mine never seem to look that full and flowing. There must be a trick I don't know...... I really enjoy your blog, and I loved that you were in Pike Road in October! I grew up in Montgomery and boarded my horse at a wonderful facility in Pike Road-many happy memories there!

  33. Image for Leila Jane Leila Jane

Okay, I'm keeping all my magazine subscriptions now! I'm not leaving any of them until I see your house in one of them. Then I can open it up that month and say with a smug smile, "I know HER!!!" Congratulations, Kari! What a cool dream come true!

Congratulations on the new magazine feature! I loved opening my Holiday Cottage magazine and seeing you and your beautiful home featured there recently. Thank you for posting the Magnolia Wreath photo. I've been looking for a project to do for my home in Texas. When we sold our Virginia farmhouse in 2012 I stashed some Magnolia leaves away from one of my favorite trees. The tree is over 100yrs old, and it was always my favorite tree on the property. Now I can display a little piece of Virginia in Texas. The simplicity of the the wreath is striking! Thank you Thank you Thank you
