Good morning rock star.

Here’s a few random thoughts on an almost-stormy Saturday morning.

1.  I’m thinking about adding a faux brick wall to the house.  I’m all in.  I just have to convince a few other people.

2.  Nothing says spring like walking in fresh green grass without shoes on.  Yesterday I actually felt the grass squish between my toes.

3.  Best outfield catch ever at the ballpark last night.  Time suspended as it hung in the air.  I thought he was going to drop it.  I thought I was going to have to prepare my “you can’t catch them all” speech.  But he emerged victorious with the ball clasped firmly in his glove.

4.  I read somewhere about the “Lark Rise to Candleford” series and I think it looks like Downton Abbey’s cousin.  Have you seen it?

5.  You are amazing.

I know a million other people will tell you that today….

….but I wanted to be the first. 🙂

Dear Carolina

My friend Kristy just finished her first book.

I couldn’t put it down.

I wanted to be friends with the characters and have one of them decorate my house.  It’s a story about two mothers, one biological and one adoptive, and the love they have for each other and a sweet baby named Carolina.

Best new book I have read in a while.

You can read more about it….here.

And now in random Saturday news:

Love this project.  Everything old is new again.

Great neutrals for a small space.

This made me laugh.  Dogs annoying cats with friendship.

Great furniture idea.

The best way to keep flowers fresh.

And I love the simplicity and sweetness of this house tour.

And one more for the road.

How to transform a crate into wall organizers.

Happy Random Saturday to you.

Now go take on the day. 🙂

Great post! I just started reading Dear Carolina and am loving it so far! I know what you mean about walking in the green grass - so relaxing! It's actually supposed to be good for you...it's called something like 'earthing' or 'grounding' and it's supposed to be very therapeutic. Anyway, have a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day! Shelley

As I was reading number 4 my head was spinning! A cousin to Downton Abbey?! Have to check it out was running through my head as I scanned/read number 5.....wait, what did that say? As I re-read number 5 tears came to my eyes! I really, really needed to "hear" that today! Thank you! I think you are pretty awesome too!! God Bless!!!

You will love Lark Rise (YouTube) but they cancelled the series so when you get to the last episode you'll be crushed it was cancelled! Watch it anyway-it's lovely!

LUVED Lark Rise to Candleford. Plus, it has 'Bates' in it. We are also doing a faux brick wall in our breakfast nook. But there are so many projects going on... redoing the patio, the back garden, a fence, the sun room, painting the exterior, new windows.... to name a few :) My Spring grass is all crispy right now due to no humidity and no rain. Not complaining though. Happy today!!! Wishing you a splendiferous Mother's Day!! Hugs, Gee

I binge watched The Larkrise to Candleford series last summer...I absolutely LOVED it! I was soo sad when I got to the end of it! It had so much heart and soul...enjoy!

Larkrise to Candleford is so much better than Downton Abbey and I was so sad when it ended last year. You can see the series using Netflicks and it's so worth it.

Lark Rise to Candleford is definitely worth watching. I got the series thru Netflix, but I noticed some were also on Youtube. Have a Happy Mother's Day!!

I loved Lark Rise, exactly like I remember Yorkshire England....however only 40 episodes. Wonderful actors...Queenie was my favorite...don't miss it...hulu plus

Karianne, your post made me cry. I needed to hear I am amazing and that spring is here. Because it has been a very long cold winter and amazing hasn't been a word to describe how hard this year has been for me. But this post and the timing, when i happened to just briefly click it....was like seeing the first crocus or the first really warm day of spring. YOU are amazing. xo

Ok. You were right. The homemade home article totally rocked. And what a great house! Wouldn't it be interesting to see what it looked like with the new family's take on it? Sometimes I wonder if I have just a little too much voyeur in me. Have a happy Saturday, The Other Marian

You will love Lark Rise, you can probably get it at the library... and it has a younger Brendan Coyle (Mr. Bates).

I agree with Gwynn. Can you please move next door? Loved the dogs, love that you said be authentic in your interview (cuz you are) and love the crate storage! : )

Larkrise to Candleford is the most wonderful series. The entire setries is on Hulu Pluss. You do not have to pay any extra per episode to watch. I would not bienge watch though. It only last for 4 seasons. I wish I had not bienge watched Downton so I could enjoy it for years, but I just could not help myself.
