Random thoughts on a cold estate sale shopping February Saturday morning:

1. Remember the birdhouse that my husband rescued? The tree right next to it has tiny little leaves on it.

I was so excited I took pictures for Instagram.

2. We are watching season 4 of All Creatures Great and Small on PBS. It’s such an amazing show. It made me want to move to Yorkshire and start sheep farming. There’s a scene at the end of the episode we just saw that I rewound and watched 4 different times. James quotes “My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose” in the most perfect Scottish brogue as he leaves for war.

Be still my heart.

3. I’m working on the cutest craft for next week. Here’s a hint. It involves nests and wood.

4. It was an amazing week on the blog. We talked about:

5. Did you see? I just watched some fashion videos and I’m almost afraid to type the words. Super high shoulder pads are back.

Yep.

I saw them online and blinked twice and they were still there.

What is this century coming to?

And now?

Here are all the ideas and inspiration I found for us this week.

Let’s GO.

I love faux plants.

They always look happy to see me.

Here’s a great post on how to make them look more realistic.

And look at these carved wooden eggs.

It’s the simplest DIY and perfect for spring.

You can see it here.

I’ve never really thought about this before.

But there’s a difference between curating design and styling design.

You can see all the details here.

And these countertops?

You will never believe this before and after.

OMG I described All Creatures Big and Small like a warm blanket in winter. I think the photo of McKinney is Katie's neighborhood (from Preppy Empty Nester). I just texted her! I just started the Swan movie and want to wait for my husband to get back from his ski trip in Montana. Will middle age hip dads like it? We woke up to a little snow. I shared your cruise tips on The Weekend Edit and Lynn at Small House did too! xo laura in Colorado

We watched that episode of All Creatures Great and Small last night. We thought the poem James quoted might be one from the famous Scottish poet, Robert Burns. My hubby and I were bawling 🥰. So touching and what a wonderful series!

I don't know what I would do if you ever stopped these, they are always fun to read. Thank you so much for entertaining me for a couple of hours, now back to cleaning.

Thanks for all the good stuff! I'll take that abandoned cottage in Brittany! It would suit me perfectly! And I hadn't known what Sarah Richardson was up to these days, so thanks for that...and no, not watching "The Swans," but "Masters of the Air" is wonderful. Have a great weekend! Go Chiefs!
