Random thoughts on a Saturday full of sunshine:
1. We worked out in the yard and my husband’s allergies are acting up. He has a runny nose and his voice is a little hoarse.
But in amazing news?
He sounds just like Kenny Rodgers.
I told him that you got to know when to hold ’em and know when to fold ’em.
2. Remember that herb garden we planted last year? I’m recreating it again this year. Fresh herbs taste SO MUCH better. I use the mint in drinks and the rosemary and the sage and the basil for cooking.
3. I just wanted to say thank you to our military families who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We owe you so much and my family and I are beyond grateful for what you have done for us.
4. It was a fun week on the blog. We discussed:
- ways to find more space by repurposing underused areas of your home
- 20 affordable indoor/outdoor rugs for porches
- how to paint a fireplace
- these home decor hacks will save you money
5. Everyone is leaving for camp tomorrow. I’m getting up at 6:30 am to see them off just like I do every year. It made me think of this long-ago story and miss Bonzai so much.
And now?
Want some fun ideas for summer?
No worries.
I GOT YOU.
Have you tasted sea salt on chocolate chip cookies?
SERIOUSLY delish.
Do you have a door laying around?
This is the post for you.
Here’s how to make a desk out of it.
These baked sweet potato fries.
Don’t they look yummy?
See the recipe here.
Did you know you can propagate a fiddle leaf fig?
I think I’m going to try this.
See the how-to here.

I love your blog so much and miss you when you aren't around .
This was fun I love stories about the kids, pet and recipes for cookies. Yum Thank you for all the joyful stories and have a wonderful holiday. The chicks will be back in a moment :)
Said before re wreath However NEVER received an answer. Still interested. Still waiting!
I apologize if you never got an answer!!!! My wreath has sold old long ago---but I found this one that's super similar:Â https://graceandcompanyltd.com/products/maple-bark-wreath?variant=40403968983123
Very cool that your kids go to camp- I loved it when young as did my daughter. We used a door to install as a table across the washer and dryer in the laundry room as a place to fold clothes, but it actually ends up with "stuff" on it:) But still comes in handy! Enjoy your weekend!
I love cookies, and I love to bake. Me and this choc chip cookies recipe are going to spend some time together this weekend. Happy holidays. Enjoy some down time.
Karrianne Add me to the ever growing list of your admirers! California isn't what it used to be, my home State, but with prayers may return again to golden. Thanks for all the good in your blogs C
I haven't had time to real the full post.....but better than that it's the first one I have received in months! I have made no changes to my settings so not sure what is going on but still it was a nice surprise this morning. How ofen are you putting up blog posts now? Maybe I'm expecting something that has changed. Thank you.
Thanks for another of these posts and have a wonderful Memorial Day.
I have been reading your blog for a number of years and this is the first time I have heard of Bonzai. Cute, tiny dog.
Great thistles this week, KA! Love your columns and looooooved that country home tour! (I signed a bunch of times, too.) And your new outfits look so great on your skinny self! WTG!!! Hope you are having a super wonderful weekend. Our fallen heroes will never be forgotten. ♥
The avocado slaw recipe looks tasty. Well, so do the cookies, but I suspect that the slaw may be better for my hips. All these beautiful European locations--I wanna go!!! I hope you enjoy your holiday weekend, and thank you for honoring service members.
I want to say "Stop"! With Kenny Roger's share! And really don't ever stop! Laugh out loud, great shares, so respectful to military. Thanks Kerri so much!! You're a Rock Star!
Hi KariAnne- Another great post. Love the door to desk idea! Maybe your husband could get a record deal now that he sounds like Kenny Rodgers?? Thank you for all the sale links! Wishing you a relaxing long weekend.
That Isle of Wight house! Love it. They really should have posted the exterior shot first. And I think I just bought everything I need to make the avocado slaw. Thanks, once again, for doing all the work for us!
I loved the house tours, and how cute you look!!! xoxo
