Random thoughts on a sunny summer Saturday morning:

1. IĀ figured out the yummiest thing to eat recently. Have you ever heard of veggie fajitas? You can eat fajitas without the meat and they are delish.

2. Have you ever gone tubing down a river? We were looking for summer family ideas and it sounded like so much fun, but I wondered what happens when you get downstream at the end of the river.

Does anyone know?

3. Looking for a fun way to make your room feel like summer without spending a dime? Here’s a tip I use all the time.

4. It was an amazing week on the blog. We talked about:

5. What are your thoughts on decaf coffee? I switched recently and don’t tell the coffee people, but I can’t tell a difference.

And now?

Here are some of my favorite finds from around the web.

LET’S GO.

I’ve been looking for ways to update my kitchen.

Good morning. I have gone canoeing and seen others tubing on rivers and they arrange for the rental place to pick them up at a certain time at the other end. Thank you for the link on the coronation party. I love to celebrate life in general. Enjoy your day!

Tubing and kayaking is a bunch of fun, the family should love it. When I went there was a small bus to take you back to the beginning. You can spend the whole day playing, it is great.

River tubing is just SOOOOOO much fun and a great family activity! You will all love it! Lots of fun and laughs. At the end you will be picked up and brought back to the starting point. Especially great on a really hot summer day. ENJOY!!!

Thistlekeeping never disappoints. I made myself a cup of green tea and savored all this week's finds. Thank you, KariAnne!

We tube down the Payette River in Idaho. Have someone with a trailer waiting for you at your end point. Also.... have them bring towels, drinks and a snack! You will be hungry and thirsty. Wear a life jacket and have at least one person wear on a lanyard, a whistle, in case of a emergency!! Have fun and enjoy the experience...

We used to go tubing on the Guadalupe River and parked one car where we were going to get out and then drive to where we got in. If it is a long float, another good thing to do is put a cooler in another inner tube and tie it to one of yours, and you have drinks along the way. Just throw the empties back in the cooler.

As everyone has said, tubing is a complete blast! You and your family should absolutely get at least 1 - 2 runs in this summer. Yep, they have a bus or vans at the other end to take you back.

All sounds so wonderful. And lots of good reads. Thank you. Im trying to do all this outside work by myself this year. What a chore. Im too tired to think. Lol happy weekend.

My family loves whitewater rafting! Most rafting companies have a bus at the other end that bring you back to the start! One we did thru a tour company actually provided campsites at the end with cooks, grills, etc., you spend the night in their cabins, have breakfast, then they take you back to the start! Grand Canyon Outfitters! Now THAT was one for the bucket list! Always fun outdoors with friends and family!

Fun to be back reading your great ideas, KariAnne! I've been away for a very good reason.....we welcomed our first, sweetest, little granddaughter into the world!! šŸ„°šŸ‘¶ and our hearts are totally in love with this Sweet Pea of snuggle love blessings!!! Being a Nana is the absolute BEST....all the fun and none of the ultimate responsibility!šŸ˜„ River tubing is a blast! We went a lot especially when my daughter was young in Pagosa Springs, CO. My inlaws had a home by the river. We'd hop in cabin side and someone would pick us up down river in the pickup truck. Lots of wonderful memories! Loaded veggie fajitas are the best especially with grilled veggies and lots of gauc. Yum! I'm not a coffee girl so I can't help you out there, but I drink a lot of tea hot and cold.😁 The house tour is gorgeous and I must clean our luggage from our recent trip. Ugh....who knows what it's been through. Thanks for the reminder, friend. I've missed your blog and have a lot of catching up to do!

KariAnne You are so kind to feature my greenhouse today. I was just telling my husband what an amazing motivator and supportive person you are. Thank you! Thank you for all you’ve done for my business.

Bathrooms, kitchens, and tours are the best to give ideas. I did a river tube ride in Colorado and another in Texas both were fun, you need to go. They meet you at the end and take you back to your car.

Tubing is s fun! Usually the place where you rent your tubes will pick you up and bring you back to your car.

It's been a few years, but my family used to tube down the Guadalupe River when camping in central Texas. The tubiong company dropped us off up river and picked us up down river. It was SO much fun! TIP: We always rented an extra tube to put 2 ice chests in - 1 for drinks and 1 for snacks/food!

GREAT thistles, KA. Wondering - and as I type this I think I hear a collective gasp in blogdom- but is it just me. or are the designers you featured this time just a wee bit off? I don't think this often with your thistle links, but this particular batch of the high end professional designers seemed to be trying too hard to be unique to satisfy this gal. Subtle design is much more honest. Anyway, the rest of the thistles = wonderful! Hope you had a fabulous weekend. Mine was extra great. :-) ♄

Comment on tubing. If there isn’t a return vehicle attached to the tubing company, you can somehow arrange to leave a car there to use. Or, we have been known to call an Uber! tubing is great in SouthTexas! Come on down!

  17. Image for AnnTN AnnTN

Here in my part of Tennessee, the tubing company busses people to the the put in point and then you end up where your car is parked. I've never tubed down the river. Maybe one day. Snakes would be my fear. Whitewater rafting is also a big summer thing around here. Also a big NO for me. They also bus people to the put in point and then meet them at the get out point.

When you go tubing down river, there is usually a shuttle at the end and they will take you back to your vehicle. If you are comfortable with water and swimming, tubing is so much fun. I personally really love it. There are some great features this week. I was bowled over by the furniture makeovers! Jaw dropping.
