blue and white Christmas Thistlewood

Last night we went to the varsity basketball game.

Date night.

I mean….after all….we’re from Kentucky.  Around here basketball is serious business.

I stood by the front door all bundled up against the fog and the cold and waited patiently for the troops to get ready.  M..y husband walked up and took my hand and smiled down at me underneath all the layers with those twinkling eyes.

I smiled back.

And as we stood there in the foyer smiling and twinkling…..

…. I heard a sigh behind me.

One of the twins stood there tapping her foot and rolling her eyes at us.

“Good thing we are going with you to the game,” she said with all the authority a twelve-year-old can muster.

“Because I really think you guys need a chaperone.” 🙂

I loved these appetizers.

They reminded me of when I was young and my mother would let us make our own with the leftovers in the fridge.

Little snacks anyone can make.

You can see them all the recipes here.

Oreo the donkey

I love any home tour that starts with a donkey.

Seriously.

This is Oreo.

And he’s almost as pretty as Laura’s Christmas home tour.

Cookie Baking Tips & Tricks

Everyone needs this post.

So many simple secrets to make the perfect cookies.

Holiday baking just got a whole lot easier.  🙂

And before you make the cookies you can start with the asparagus.

It looks delicious and she had me at mozzarella.

Yes, please.

Recipe found here.

And this week?  This was the week that I:

Decided I’m going retro.

Laughed when I saw how this German grocery store decided to celebrate Christmas.

Found the cutest printable gift tags.

Thought this idea was so pretty.

Might make plans to host this.

And put this Glade commercial song on my playlist  (I know it’s a candle commercial…but it’s so good).

I’m so excited to be partnering with Macy’s this Christmas to showcase some fun gift ideas.

If you know someone who loves to cook and you’re looking for some ideas for under the tree….

….here’s a few suggestions for the baker or chef in your life.

Happy shopping. 🙂

I was compensated by Macy’s for this partnership…but all ideas and opinions and love of anything kitchen related are completely my own.

Happy random Saturday to you.

Downloaded the Glade commercial and have been humming it while changing the bed linen, gathering clothes, and now drinking my coffee. My grandson's first fourth grade basketball game is this morning. His mom, my daughter, is the coach. This should be fun to watch. Your blue Christmas room inspired me to add more blue to our living room and to buy as many blue ornaments as I can find at the after Christmas sales.

Here I am to bug you again. I love your tree decorations and your creativity. You make me laugh and you make me cry, it's a good thing. I am coveting those white doves on your tree, did you make those or is that a tutorial I missed. I have been looking in the stores for something similar with no avail. Any hints????
