Random thoughts on a crisp fall Saturday morning:

1.  I’m so happy to be writing this post.  Please tell me you smiled when you saw it in your inbox.

2.  I’m in Waco again this weekend.

Because well, Leslie.

I had to go back to the house and hang out with her and have her make me dinner and eat pasta together and I brought her the cutest housewarming present.

I’ll share everything next week.

3.  It was an amazing week on the blog. I showed how to make this fun handmade gift and talked about this find from 100 years ago and celebrated a new plaid rug in this room.

4.  In random decorating news I had an idea that potentially may be brilliant if I can make it work.  Have you seen the square acrylic curtain rods with the brass rectangular curtain rings?  If you haven’t, here’s a circle version I found at Ballard Designs.  I think I’ve figured out how to DIY them for my new living room.  I’ll keep you posted.

5. I hope you had a week as amazing as you are.

And now—here are my favorite links from around the web this week.

You know I’m all about plaid this year.

That’s why I love this tree.

As soon as I saw the tree skirt with the pompoms, I had a visual of what my cat would do with them. I'm still chuckling. It's a cute idea but .... yeah, it would last for about 30 seconds in my home. However, I think I am veering toward plaid, as well. Love the blue plaid as well as Courtney's elegant decorating. I'm not ready to move toward Christmas in my decorating, but the beauty of not being a blogger means that I don't have to!

Oh, Karianne!!!!!!! I love everything from Ballard Designs. I hang on to their catalogs, just to dream and scheme, lol. And absolutely love the blue and green plaid Christmas link. But did I read right that you are working on a new family room? 'cause I am still waiting (impatiently) for the painted bedroom floor and what ever you were dishing up in the dining room awhile ago. Oh, well, I'll just add that family room makeover to my list. Hahaha.
