Random thoughts on a sunny Saturday morning:

1. Just in case you don’t live in Texas and wondered what the weather was like here? It’s hot.

I hear about all your amazing fall temperatures.

And sigh.

And hope a day and a thermometer reading with an 8 in front of it shows up soon.

2. I spent this last week in North Carolina.

If you live there just know you live in one of the most amazing places in these United States.

The rest of the country is jealous.

3. It was a fun week on the blog. We discussed decorating your front entry for fall and made pumpkins that looked like we sewed them and shared ways to make a difference and posted this amazing before and after dining room.

4. Do you have Instagram?

I do. You can find me @thistlewood.

And the best part of Instagram are the stories. If you want to follow along with me and all the random things and decorating tips and design ideas that happen minute-by-minute over here at Thistlewood?

Here’s how to follow me over there.

And now?

I am just now reading yesterday's blog with my Sunday morning coffee. I have to tell you...for some reason your post was a balm to my exhausted self this morning. I've mentioned my mom's advanced Alzheimer's before...and last night was one of those times she was up and very confused (this past week she forgot she is "mom" and no longer responds to that). Anyway...as the disease ravages her mind (she is like a 2 yr. old) and my life, I am sometimes a bit down. As an artist...crafter...decorator, your generous posts are always uplifting and inspire me to rearrange, paint, try something new. To focus on that for a bit and surround myself in a pretty and comfortable home. I know this is a long post and there are many caregivers out there who, like me, are tired. But THANK YOU for your efforts to bring us a fresh idea and new possibilities.

Praying for you Pamela and your mom. My dad will be going on Hospice beginning Monday, it is killing me but I must move on. I already miss him. Hang in there, God is near.

I love your farmhouse throwback pic! Headed to your part of the state this coming weekend. Hoping to hit up some of your cool shopping spots; then watching Texas Tech Baseball in Frisco! Pray for cooler weather!

Ok, the cupboard on the kitchen counter from the Jenna Sue Design Co. blog? Just STOP IT! I'm all heart eyes!! But you definitely saved the best for last...because the farmhouse is where I fell in love with Thistlewood!!!!! xoxo
