Random thoughts on a Saturday morning:

1. I love this piece that my brother made for me. There’s a little bit of him in every line.

2. It was a fun week on the blog. We talked about summer decorating ideas and how to fall in love with our houses once again and figured out what stair rods are and discovered a desk that’s a superhero.

3. It is HOT.  I haven’t lived in Texas in a while and it’s the HOTTEST OF THE HOT.

(total aside:  I guess today is ALL CAPS today.  Maybe it’s all this HOTTNESS.)

4.  I just saw the trailer for Downton Abbey in the movie theater.  I’m going to go all Captain Obvious and tell you I almost screamed.

September can’t get here soon enough.

5.  We are in the middle of working on the bookcases in the living room and installing molding and lights.

I’m going to post before, middle and after pictures next week.

Did I mention that it IS HOT?

Please tell me it’s cool where you are. 🙂

I found this free printable just in time for summer.

Isn’t it beautiful?

You can download it for FREE here.

Three items you can repurpose into throw pillows.

Spoiler alert. One of them is a rug.

You can see them all here.

I am loving watching this blogger’s home evolve.

Yes... Here in MD. on the Eastern Shore it's been a HOT week!! Every day low to mid 90s. Not like Texas, but hot for us. And I HATE it! I finally turned the air on, which I hate as I hate having to close my windows. Can't wait for Fall to get here... my FAVORITE time!! Thank - you for the great post today!! I'm going to try the pillow. I don't own a sewing machine, although when I was younger I did make a few of my clothes and wasn't half bad, if I say so myself.. 😉.

Oh, girlfriend, I live outside Orlando and I feel your pain! July 4th is going to feel like 110! I will be indoors celebrating! All that aside, I remember Murray, KY being pretty hot, too.

PS!! My 89 yr old mom now lives with me and we are re-watching all of Downton Abby in prep for the movie!! Loving it all over again!

Well....firstly, I love the free printable and can’t wait to go back and read more about the repurposed items. Love the pillow on the bed 💜 Secondly, it’s HOT here too!! Leaving for work in a few and it’s in the 80’s. Going to be 112 here and I work outside. 😩. Good news is I’m super hydrated and have my cooling towels frozen and ready! Thank goodness I work with flowers that don’t mind then heat too much!! Lol

We are nothing like as hot as you guys, but for us here in the UK it is HOT, temps higher than we are used to so we are all heading towards the beach to try cool off. Loved the post again today Kerianne, would'nt mind a beach house right about now. Enjoy your weekend.xx

I love spending part of my Saturday mornings with you! Thanks, KariAnne, for all the beauty and fun you share each week! Oh, and btw, it's cool here in Washington state. We're expecting a gorgeous summer day today, about 80 degrees. I always-sort of-joke that you can plan a picnic for July 5th cuz it often rains on the 4th. Blessings, Karen

Guess what? It's not hot (yet) here in Southern Oregon! All of us are just so grateful to enjoy our beautiful blue skies and temps in the 70s-80s...without all the wildfire smoke! Last year we had smoke from late June into October here in Ashland, where I live. I'm sorry it's so stinkin hot there in Texas...but I think I could deal with the heat here if we just skip the smoke this year!

KariAnne, your cousin’s home is exquisite, fabulous and stunning! It is cooling just looking at it! We are in Flagstaff, AZ and it is warm, mid 80’s today, but this will not last long, we are due for the Monsoon season for a couple of months. Absolutely loved your cousin’s house, one to remember!

I absolutely love the piece your brother made for you. 🥰 I live in Kentucky and it is HOT!!! ☀️We’re not quite as hot as Texas, but hot enough. Fall is my favorite and part of me can’t wait for it. 🍁🍂 Happy Saturday to you! 😎💗

It's hot in Michigan, but at least it isn't raining. We went from autumnal temperatures to summery temps almost overnight. Not much transition time here. It's the humidity that takes a toll on me. In other news .... your brother's artwork is amazing. And .... yes to Downton Abbey! I'm not a big movie lover, but I may have to see that one more than once!

KariAnne, Well, McKinney must be hotter than Mansfield, an hour south. My sister and I were just marveling on Friday about what a wonderful mild summer we were having this year. Every day has been pleasant out on the porch. Of course, we live in the country, not in town with houses all around. We probably are cooler because of all trees and no concrete reflecting the heat. Many years we would have already had 100°+ days, but none so far this summer. Your cousin's beach house is beautiful and must be much cooler than any of us in Texas. Ocean breezes always cool down the temperatures. I hope you get to visit your cousin's house during this summer. Thanks for all the inspiration... and drink lots of sweet ice tea. :) Judith

You and your hubby need to come and visit us in Traverse City, Michigan sometime during the summer. June, July and August are great! Lots of beautiful fresh water to swim in, the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, the Leelanau Peninsula and Old Mission Peninsula are gorgeous! You would love it!

I’m in Wisconsin and it’s 75 and rainy today. Feels pretty nice! Yesterday it was 90 but I’ll take it over Florida where we live most of the year! Have a happy fourth!! 🇺🇸
