Random thoughts on a Saturday morning:
1. Zack is an official graduate. We had the ceremony and his party yesterday. I didn’t cry once during the ceremony. Mostly because I didn’t have any tears left.
2. Next week I’m having a week-long photo and video shoot for the house for a brand. I cannot WAIT to share all the details with you. It’s for an amazing project that I’m so excited about.
3. My husband and his father are finishing up the fence in the backyard today. It’s been a month-long process and I’m so excited about the next steps for the backyard. It all starts with the fence.
4. Everyone left for camp at dark thirty this morning.
I’m in charge of Westleigh’s streaks on her SnapChat when she’s away.
If that sounds like Greek to you—oh, good.
Me, too.
She literally wrote me a novel on how to do it.
I’m hoping I can mom-represent.
And now?
Let’s see what the internet has been up to this week.
This beautiful pressed lavender artwork project.
It smells amazing.
See the DIY here.
And this?
THIS IS A BASEMENT.
I know, right?
One of my favorite befores and afters.
This easy DIY project.
I’ve been wanting to make one of these and this tutorial looked easy.
Here’s the step-by-step.
AND THIS TOTAL GAME CHANGER.
I know this doesn’t have anything to do with DIY, but I couldn’t help it. We were getting ready for graduation and I was out of my normal concealer, so I asked the twins if they had one and Westleigh let me borrow this. SERIOUSLY. I almost fell out of my makeup chair. It is the best concealer I have ever used.
It made my undereye rings disappear and made my skin look so smooth that I looked like I should have been the graduate at high school instead of the mom of one.
Just kidding.
Maybe.
I had to give it back to Wester, so I went out and bought it at Target for about $6.00. Yes. Not a fancy high-end make-up store. TARGET.
I am so happy I gave birth to those twins so they could give me make-up advice.
Here’s the link if you want to check it out.
(total aside: This is an affiliate link. There’s no cost to you. Just me, Trying to put Zack through college. 🙂 )
And in random news this week:
This laundry room
This kitchen
This sweet bathroom
Can wait to follow along with this new house
This calligraphy tutorial
Love these open shelving ideas
These chic houseplant ideas
Easy tips for styling built-ins
These clever decorating ideas
And this.
This easy way to hide a not-cute floor.
And this graduation week I came home and found this.
Two friends. Just pressing pause on the day and taking a nap.
I’m trying to imprint this moment on my heart.
Forever.
Happy Random Saturday to you.
Oh, the twins are gone? You have this twin with you! Love the beautiful light pattern on tthe ceiling! And, that isnt a basement...so sumptious and comfy!
🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️Actual footage of me running to Target for concealer! Have a happy weekend!
Thanks for that great post. Very interesting.
Aren't we lucky to have cameras?! Love that last photo...and I'm ordering that makeup cover through you and tell Zack congrats and I expect at least a B in calculus! Really enjoyed this post. I hope the homeowner who undertook that amazing basement makeover did something clever with that wonderful old sewing machine and I really must convince my landlord, who is undertaking some renovations here in my senior housing apartment building, to give me a replica of that attic bathroom. I'll settle for the chandelier. Oh, and I noticed this week that Walmart has these amazingly realistic faux house plants...philodendron and other "old fashioned" ones I recall from the 60s and 70s...to plant in your own pots. You read it here first!
Love all your this and that of good things. Melted my heart pic of Zach and your fur baby. Come back to KY soon.Heard there is a huge project needing your help.. a KY mermaid enjoys her pool time but truly needs to hang her first picture since it is now going on five years. But can't stay out of the pool!😂🤣
Pinned a couple of these today! That peel-and-stick vinyl... I've been wanting to do that, but I need to take the plunge. :-) Love those 'cement' beads! Have a great weekend, KariAnne... So happy for you and your growing-up fam!
Love the barn door in the basement. It's ideal as there is always a draft up the stairs. Very smart of that home owner. Take lots of pictures of your babies. It's all you will have when they move out on their own and start their life. Bitter sweet that it is, however as parents it's our job to raise them to be independent and aren't we proud to see them making good choices? Beautiful , heart felt post.
Wow- were you honored to be allowed to handle the Snapchat streak? 😀
That last photo is my favorite photo on your entire blog!laura
Oh, that last photo!
Awwwwwww loved the last picture. Soooooo Sweet of both of them !
You son and his dog, how precious is that. Definitely a memory keeper forever.
I am spotting a trend .... are you, KariAnne????? I'm seeing a lot of black intermingling with white in the posts you have chosen to link. The laundry room and bathroom are my personal faves. And on a different note ... this is my favorite concealer: https://www.ulta.com/maracuja-creaseless-concealer?productId=xlsImpprod4520011 Yes, it's pricey, and normally I'm a drug store makeup kind of a girl, but a little goes a very long way. I've had it for a year have maybe used a 1/4 of it. It covers all sorts of badness AND it doesn't crease. I'm contemplating buying some of their foundation. I heard about it on a youtube channel--Dominique Sachse--you might know about her, she's a newscaster in Texas. Her youtube channel covers makeup, fashion, hair .... she's a classy lady and I have learned a lot from her. AND she isn't 18 years old sharing beauty information. Bonus.
The last photo is wonderful, a boy and his golden, so special, made my day!
That last photo has my heart! So sweet. Thanks for sharing my calligraphy series!
Oh my goodness! What a BIG weekend you've had! We just celebrated our little guy's Kindergarten Grad and I couldn't help getting teary eyed as his teacher mentioned the future grad class of 2030 - it seems so far off, but I know it will be here in an instant. I'm in awe of how quickly the years seem to pass now that I'm a Mom. PS. Can't wait to see the new fence - we're currently planning our own new fence too, so I can't wait to see how yours turns out!
Zack and Buddy, the BEST floor covering of all!! xoxo
That last photo - no words can express! Freeze that image in your heart - brought tears to my eyes -how can anyone not love a boy and his dog! :)
Two "buddies" -- how precious that picture is! KariAnne, you are blessed to have so many precious memories! Blessings! Have a nice weekend!
