A few random thoughts on a sunny summer morning.

1. The publisher and I just put together the most fun pre-orders for the book.  If you order my new book, So Close To Amazing before September 4, 2017 they are yours for the taking.  You can see them here.  If you’ve already ordered, just put in your order number to redeem them.

1.  Thank you for all the questions on this post.  We got so many questions I think they could circle the world twice.  Now I just have to find some answers.

2.  Does anyone have any corn grilling tips?  I have fresh corn in the freezer and I want to try something new.

3.  Can anyone else believe that August is showing up on Tuesday?  Wasn’t it just Valentine’s Day?

4.  And in the most exciting news of all—did anyone see that Hallmark came out with THIRTY-THREE new movies for Christmas this year?

Grab the popcorn.  Santa came early. 🙂

And the Internet was full of inspiration this week.

Check out the links below.

This is the best solution post ever.

See those stripes?

They are painted on old linoleum.

Brilliant idea and DIY found here.

My friend Courtney is writing a book full of pictures even more beautiful than this.

I cannot wait.

Mostly because I adore her, but partly because she can photograph a flower or a bicycle and make them look like something that should hang in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Read her beautiful post about it here.

This post made me LAUGH OUT LOUD.

Seriously.

I can’t look at a turtle the same ever again.

And I loved this sneak peek at 2018 decor trends.

I’ll give you a hint.

Get your fringe ready.

And in random news this week:

This farmhouse tour

This bit of encouragement

This DIY is so cute

This kitchen trolley

This beautiful DIY

Awesome IKEA insider tips

Great branding advice

This amazing home tour

And I’m so excited.  I can’t wait to follow along with this house renovation.  I know it will be incredible.

And one more for the road.

Tired of perfection?  Here’s a real life tour of our farmhouse.

Happy random Saturday to you. 🙂

KariAnne, thank you for including my kitchen floors in today's Thistlekeeping!! You are such a blessing and encouragement- I can't even tell you how much it means to me. ((Hugs))!! 🤗❤️

Grilled corn: peel the husk back but leave intact. Strip the silk. Big piece of foil. Throw a couple of pats of butter between the husks and the corn, pull up the husks like it just came off the stalk, wrap in foil and throw on the grill. 20-40 minutes. Turn every 5-10 minutes, Enjoy. You can add seasonings in with the butter if you like. Easy peasy,

If that's what you call a messy house, you need to take a look at my living room every morning...looks like a fraternity came in, had a party and left all their dishes, beer bottles/cans and debris everywhere!

Love 1915 House and the tea-stained flower garland. I haven't visited either site before so I was happy you shared them with us! Um, I kinda agree with Janet ... I won't say my house looks like a fraternity came in, but ooohhhh sometimes the clutter ... and cat hair .... sigh. But ... we have a happy family life. So what if my floors are covered in sand from the beach all summer long???

Loved your realistic house tour...Perfection is so overrated! I pinned a number of the other ideas as I usually do when I sit down to read Thistlekeeping. Thanks for the inspirations.

Karianne, I could listen to you read a grocery list! I'm sure you would have a funny story for each item told in your totally inimitable style. You are a definite joy to "listen to". I know that sounds strange since it is through written word's that I "hear" you, and I feel I would know your voice anywhere. Please keep up your Pollyanna attitude. The world needs more Kariannes in it. We would all be happier and more content in our lives. Please, never change! (I don't think you even could) Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the smiles you've given me. I CANNOT wait to read your book. 😉🐝 Deb
