Did you know there’s a holiday right around the corner?

Yep.

Labor Day.

But today?

Today is Friday.

An ordinary, run-of-the-mill Friday.

This morning I was drinking coffee and waving my hands and talking about today and Baylor football and how I just finished the manuscript for the next book and how excited I was and randomly jumping up and down and in the middle of the entire conversation my husband started laughing.

I stopped mid-sentence.

“What?” I said. “What’s so funny?”

“I finally figured out what makes you tick,” he grinned.

“You always think there’s something amazing about to happen just around the corner.”

He’s right, you know.

He succinctly summed me up in better words than I ever could.

I’m an optimist.

An eternal believer that the glass is half full.

On the Enneagram scale, I’m a 7.

That’s the enthusiast. It’s the number for people who randomly stand up and cartwheel across the living room and give themselves standing ovations and look for an adventure around every corner and believe that you should never put off eating a brownie fudge sundae.

And so today, me and my cartwheeling, applauding, Enneagram self wanted to share a little joy with you.

Yep.

You.

Just in case you needed some.

Just in case you had a hard week.

Just in case you were a little sad.

Just in case.

I wanted to share.

Nothing fancy.

Nothing earth-shattering.

But today–when I stood in that kitchen and watched the sunlight and took that first sip of coffee and thought about all that is amazing in this world…

….I stopped.

I stopped for just an instant to take it all in until my heart was so full of joy at that exact moment that it was about to burst.

Joy that it’s not 100 degrees right now.

Joy that my sweet husband grinned at me when I found a coffee called Blonde Roast at QT.

Joy that Buddy still loves to run around the yard.

Joy that I discovered clogs with fur inside of them for fall.

Simple.  Sweet.  Wonderful.  Joy.

And I was trying to think of a way to share all this joy.

So I wanted to take a moment to tell you....yes….you with the coffee or the hot tea or the diet coke with the blueberry muffin.

You.

You.  Are.  Amazing.

A rock star.

Truly.

I thought you needed to know.

Just in case no one mentioned it to you today I wanted to be the first.

Now you probably already knew how amazing you are and you probably are like thank goodness she finally noticed me and my amazing self and mentioned it.

You probably already figured out that you are a rock star

And from one rock star to another…..

..I totally agree.

PS  If you get a chance today….maybe spread a little joy in your corner of the world….there’s probably someone else amazing who needs it.

And something amazing is just around the corner. Happy Labor Day.

That is a cute uplifting "ordinary" Friday story. But one thing is for sure, any Friday we are alive, happy, healthy (as well as our friends and family), is no ordinary Friday. That Friday is something special beyond any words could say. So Happy "Something Special" Friday Karianne. And may you have many more.
