Looking for pillow combinations? Here are some of my favorite pillow combinations according to color and style.
Can I tell you how much fun I had writing this post?
Seriously.
Apparently, I LOVE to mix and match pillows and I didn’t even know it.
Every time I share this room, I get so many questions about the pillows on the sofas. There is a LOT of pattern going on in this room. I get it. I understand that it might be a little overwhelming. But for me and my living room? We never met a blue and white pillow that we didn’t like.
People asked where I got the pillows and how did I match the pillows and how did I know which pattern went with what.
Most of these pillows came from random places that don’t have them anymore, so I thought it might be fun if I went and found pillows and matched them up for you.
I started with one set. I was just going to put one set together for you to show you how to match patterns and scale. But there were so many cute pillows and so many cute patterns that I put together another.
And then another.
And another.
I hope you like pillows.
Because here are just a few. 🙂
Seven of My Favorite Pillow Combinations
Pillow set #1: a little blue and white
I’ve linked them here, but you can click on the pillows above to shop.
Love the pattern on the darker blue mixed with the ikat pattern on the blue and white pillow layered in with the white polka dot pillow.
And the best part?
That set mixes with this set.
Pillow set #2: casual blue and white
This set is a little more casual.
It mixes damask with this greek key pillow and then layers in a little white polka-dotted tasseled pillow.
All of these pillows are SUPER affordable, too.
Pillow set #3: nautical blue and white
I love the look of this set.
I found the raffia pom pom pillow and was trying to match it and then the blue and white pillow just fell in love with it.
All three pillows have really pretty texture, too.
Pillow set #4: pink and white and spring
Look at this adorable multi-colored pillow I found.
I think this was one of my favorite combinations because each pillow has its own personality.
And they all look like summer.
Pillow set #5: neutral with texture
One of my newest favorite pillows is sitting on my bed right now.
The pillow on the right is actually quite a bit darker than it appears in the picture and it’s SO PRETTY.
I love layering in texture with it.
These pillows all match with the pillows below, too.
Pillow set #6: casual neutral
This set is super similar to the set above—except I added in stripes.
I think it just makes the pattern combination pop.
You could also add in any of the pom pom or white pillows I matched with the other sets.
Pillow set #7: outdoor pillows
And it wouldn’t be a pillow post without a few outdoor pillows.
I have the pillows on the left on my porch right now and they’ve held up amazingly well this summer.
Black and white is a classic outdoor combination.
- this black and white patterned pillow
- this black and white striped pillow
- this pom pom outdoor pillow
I hope you’ve enjoyed pillow shopping with me.
I had SO MUCH FUN putting it all together.

Where is this bench from at end of bed? The lighter wood and taupe material? Please and thanks ! Love your posts!
This brightens my day… as you always do. In all this heat, it is such a pleasure to see something that makes you feel cool and comfortable . I wish I could copy your entire house ! Stay cool and safe.
Thank you, thank you for all the wonderful sources! I too love me some pillows! 😋 covers are the best instead of trying to store full ones. Secret? Can’t wait for your Fall decorating ideas! So done with the hot weather. Have a great weekend KariAnne.
I have a pillow 'hotel' on my guest room daybed. It's where they live in-between trips to the living room couches and primary bedroom. I may have reached my limit of pillows. I wish they all came without inserts so it's easier to store them off-stage. I love them because it's such a great way to change rooms for different season. Like I needed a reason.
It always helps me to know how and what pillows look the best. I have several pillow covers but what looks good together is a problem until now. Thanks so much.
KariAnne, you are the Pillow Queen! No doubt about it!
I just love you and your cute self and your living room and your family and your pillows etc etc etc
I love pillows but find that my guests don't often know what to do with them when they sit on my couch!! I usually say just toss them on the floor!!! What do you do? xoxo
Kari your house always looks like it should be on the cover of House Beautiful! I love it. Thanks for sharing!
I love the blue and white living room. I was wondering what the name of the white paint you used, there are so many to pick from! Thanks Linda
