Remember when I mentioned we were pulling up the carpet in the bedroom?
In amazing news?
The room is ready for Christmas inspired by this Fresh Cut Fraiser candle from Better Homes and Gardens.
You know when that first snowflake tumbles through the air, followed by snowflake after snowflake floating to the ground, covering everything with a blanket of white? Everything is snowy. Everything is fresh. Everything is crisp and clean and pristine against the blue sky and you know that you know that you know….
….that Christmas is just around the corner?
That’s exactly what this candle smells like.
All the Christmases before and all the Christmases to come.
The bedroom? Just like the candle inspiration, it’s decorated with a lot of white with a little blue topped with a little whiff of Christmas.
I can’t WAIT to show you the before and after. Are you ready? Are you sitting down? Do you need to grab a beverage?
Here’s the before.
The really before before from when we first bought back the house. The room had gold walls painted SW Blonde (I know because I helped my mother paint them) and a grayish carpet and a random fireplace in the middle of where the bed should be.
We painted the walls gray.
And added some furniture.
And moved the fireplace here.
And it was fine.
But why settle?
When your room could look like this?
CAN YOU EVEN?
Please go look at that before.
Did you ever think an after like this could show up?
Here’s another before from another angle.
COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ROOM.
And it all started with the floor.
I’m going to do an entirely different post on how we changed it up because it would make this post entirely too long and we all have Christmas shopping and Thanksgiving baking to get to.
So I’ll Reader’s Digest how we changed up the room.
We pulled up the carpet and after a zillion steps we painted it SW Stamped Concrete.
We painted the room SW Extra White and added new moldings and new floor moldings.
It was time to decorate.
We added new bedding and new white curtains to the windows.
I love these new curtain rods from Better Homes and Gardens at Walmart.
You can see them here.
They extend from 48″ to 84″ and are super affordable which was perfect because I have four windows in this room.
quick tip: hang your curtain rods 6-8″ outside your windows to make the windows appear bigger.
For extra seating, I added these blue tufted floor cushions from Better Homes and Gardens at Walmart.
They come in 7 different colors and look really high end.
They’re the perfect addition for extra holiday seating.
I added this farmhouse lamp from Better Homes and Gardens at Walmart.
You can find in it the store and here are dozens of other lamp options, too.
I bought the shade separately here.
I added this farmhouse clock (for under $25).
And I also found these baskets, too.
I tucked a present in one at the foot of the bed.
The other larger basket (which is SUCH a good value for the price) is tucked underneath with a throw.
You can find them in the store, but I also found this basket that I love, too and this one.
And when we were finished and the room was decorated, I lit this Better Homes and Gardens candle.
Nothing says Christmas than the smell of Cut Fraiser.
Then I snuggled in and sat around all day and ate Christmas cookies and watched Hallmark movies.
There’s no time for any of that.
I have a turkey to cook. 🙂
