Raise your hand if you’ve started decorating for fall.
Oh, good.
Come sit by me.
It’s one of my favorite things on the planet.
I walked outside the other day and the morning was cool and the leaves were starting to fall and I knew it was time to get ready for the season ahead. So I spent this past weekend fluffing and carting pumpkins around and putting together dried florals and arranging and rearranging.
And now?
My house is ready for fall down to the tiniest acorn and the last stalk of wheat.
Looking for a little fall inspiration?
I. Got. You.
Let’s take a little tour of the family room and kitchen decorated for fall.
Let’s start by the back door.
This is the view as you are facing the back of the house.
I added the PRETTIEST wreath to the french door heading into the laundry room that I found At Home Stores.
Have you ever shopped there before? We have tons of them in the DFW Metroplex and it’s my go-to when I need a little inspiration. They have an amazing selection for every style and every season as well as amazing prices (this wreath was under $35).
They have all of their fall decor grouped together in different colors, so it makes it so much easier to shop for what you are looking for in your home. At Home Stores never disappoints. Every time I visit, I find something I didn’t even know that I was looking for.
There are pumpkins and gourds and leaves and grapevine all put together in the prettiest neutral fall wreath.
I added the basket to the bench and filled it with pumpkins and tucked it underneath the bench. Then I added a throw and a pillow and a pumpkin and the prettiest white gourd I just got from At Home.
This is the view of the kitchen when you walk into the back door.
I wanted to keep it simple on the kitchen island, so I added a basket and filled it with pumpkins and leaves.
I fell in LOVE with this wood pumpkin in the prettiest blue color.
I added two wood pumpkins and added a little height with these pretty distressed wood stands.
I added a little more fall to the hutch.
The hutch is full of these sweater pumpkins in white and gray.
Here’s a close-up of one of the sweater pumpkins on this lazy susan that would be perfect for a fall charcuterie board.
I also found TONS of the prettiest dried florals and made them into bundles that I used to decorate the hutch with too.
Here’s the view into the family room.
This is the COZIEST room now thanks to pumpkins and throws and these cozy chairs.
I filled the dough bowl with every kind of pumpkin from all the bins in the attic along with these metal leaves.
Behind the sofa, I opened up a toolbox and filled it with more dried florals and smaller pumpkins.
On the side table, I added another pumpkin stand, another gourd and this khaki and gray pumpkin that looks SO REAL.
I LOVE this set of pumpkin pillows that I found At Home.
They have the prettiest embroidery and are trimmed with the tiniest jute ribbon.
Then I pulled out the drawers on this vintage hutch and added a few more pumpkins.
On the mantel in the family room, I started with corn stalks.
Then I layered in this wheat wreath that was so affordable.
I added some books and wood beads and these tiny arrangements of wheat in these metal bins.
On the round game table, I filled up the basket with more blue pumpkins to match the blue pumpkins in the kitchen.
And now?
Back to you.
Have you started fall decorating yet?
What colors are you using?
Did you buy anything new?

Good Morning KariAnne! I'm loving your fall decor and I so wanted to look up that wonderful blue wood pumpkin but but but..the links aren't working...is it on my end? I'll check. That wood french door to your laundry room is exactly what I'd love to replace my yucky builder grade door. I'm on the hunt. I'm sure hubby will say "it won't fit"! LOL
I found the links in the article are the only ones that I can't get to but I sure found the ones at the bottom:0) That'll do! I love fall!!!
The last paragraph link is broken on my end too. But go to the end of the post where each individual piece is and the blue pumpkin is there for you to click. Hope that helps :)
It all looks so beautiful and fall!! Love the touch of blue pumpkins! Great color's!
Just gorgeous, love the dough bowl filled to the brim. I love adding books especially this time of year. I love the rug in this room too! We just got an At Home store in NJ. It seems in our area they ae slowly adding these stores. It takes forever, gosh. I will have to check their store and site for Christmas, that's for sure.
Love everything! The little drawers pulled out with the tiny pumpkins in them is the cutest thing I have ever seen!!
Those spindle chairs are adorable! Do you have a link for them, please? Love fall and it was cool enough here in Oklahoma this morning that I could see my breath!
Good morning KariAnne...you asked if anyone had started decorating for fall? Are you kidding...haha...Come the first of September and I'm out with summer, in with fall. It's just my favorite season! Here in Grand Rapids MI we finally have fall weather...from 90 degrees last weekend to 50 degrees today. I'm not crazy about our 5 months of snow, but boy do I love fall and all the beautiful colors to use to decorate. I LOVE your family room rug and have been looking at it in the black and cream for our family room. I was just a bit concerned by some reviews saying the fuzzing never stops. Have you been happy with how yours is wearing?
I'm a few miles north of Grand Rapids and I have to say that I also have been putting off the fall decorating. But I have soup in the crockpot! KariAnne, I love getting a peek at your lovely autumn decor but .... you have a strawberry sign! That is SO last June! 😂
Hi Kris...We're almost neighbors!
I work in GR so I'll wave at you as I drive in to work tomorrow.
Love all your ideas! Your home is so beautiful. I'm looking for white or cream loveseat slip cover....do you have source? Have you used?
In beautifully good taste. Stunning! 💚
Everything looks so pretty and calming! Love all of the texture you’ve used. Thanks for sharing!
Can you tell me what color stain was used on your hardwoods? Thank you!
Everything looks gorgeous! I would love to sit in your family room with a cup of pumpkin spice chai and have a wonderful visit. Hugs to you, my friend
I fancy your use of flash cards in your decor...are they from AtHomeStores? I also love the pendant light/chandelier combo in your kitchen. I recall seeing that some time ago when the president of Canadian House & Home magazine remodeled her kitchen. You both have great taste and I follow both you and Lynda Reeves. Also I took your recommendation on the grout pen from a few What I Bought Wednesdays ago and it worked beautifully. Your happy energy is soooo refreshing.
Beautiful home and you have captured the wonder of autumn. We don't have stores called Home store here-Home Goods only.
I love it all, your house is beautiful. That family room rug is beautiful!! Love all the neutral colors
In a sea of blue all over the internet, it is so refreshing to see a beautiful room of white with beige accents! I am one of the few who do not like blue, so this family room is right up my alley. It is so beautiful.
It is definitely fall at your house now I’m going up to attic and see if I can get starred. I know you have probably answered a million times, what is the paint color of your hutch- - - please, thanks
Put fall decor everywhere as I had a Bunko party last week for 12 people. Everyone was in awe....I LOVE decorating for fall, most of all! Well, Christmas is right up there, too! Love your blog and ideas! Wish I could have attached some photos, as I believe you would have enjoyed them!
I don't know how someone so small can have so much creativity, it looks beautiful. Thanks for all the inspiration.
Your house is so beautiful! I usually don't decorate for fall but my daughter always buys beautiful pumpkins and sits around the house! If I ever get to walk around again, I will decorate but it probably won't be for another month or so, lol. I sure hope you are doing well and recovering from your surgery!!
Those rooms look so peaceful and welcoming. Very nice. I hope Buddy is behaving himself. The same day I read that story, my dog lost her breakfast. Fortunately, she did it on her blanket that's on the area rug. I felt so blessed I didn't have to get the shampooer out at 7am. Gotta love 'em. Bless you.
Your home looks stunning all decked out for autumn, KA. Well done. We have an At Home about 20 minutes from me, right down the road from Ikea and across the street from the best mall in my city. I may have to do some shopping soon. You always inspire! I think the pic with the tiny pumpkin in your itty bitty drawers is SO CUTE!!!!
Everything looks so lovely. Your home is so warm and inviting.
Love the look of your rooms in your house. the deco is pretty, thanks for showing.
Beautiful Karianne! Love the little pumpkin in the drawer. This Fall color scheme looks beautiful in your house. I go fullout "Happy Halloween" decor!! Family loves it....me too!!
Sigh...its just so warm and cozy...
Love all the neutrals!! You have created the perfect look for fall - of course!!
Everything is so beautiful. May I ask where you purchased the rug in the kitchen? It looks like sea grass with scallop trim. It is so warm and brings out the feel of fall.
I've never commented before but had to when you mentioned At Home. Here in Southern California I've got a store about a half hour away, so I do have to plan my trips to allow for driving time and lots of shopping time, but I go as often as my schedule allows. There is another At Home opening the end of October about 10 minutes away and I can't wait! I'll probably be there all the time!
I’ve started on putting out the Fall decorations and now after looking at yours, I’m inspired to finish! Thank you! Just curious, where are you using the cabinet, ( maybe Pine? ) that has all the little drawers? It looks charming!
Absolutely beauty full !!! xoxo
Oh, wow! I loooooooooove what you've done to your family room and kitchen. Looks wonderful! And those blue pumpkins are sooooo adorable! 😍
As always, your home is beautiful! I absolutely love the runner that you have in your kitchen! Do you know where it came from? I’d like to try and find one. Thanks!
