pergola project

Yesterday we spent all day at a basketball tournament.

I know you are thinking that it’s baseball season.

But we live in Kentucky.

At the end of a day of dribbling and passing and bouncing and shooting and running and lay-uping….

….we landed here.

Sitting around a fire laughing and talking and sharing and planning and hoping and dreaming and listening to crickets chirp under the stars.

It made me so happy that on that long ago day when our knees shook and our hearts trembled and we were so scared….

….that we jumped.

I am so glad you took "the jump"! Just think of all the things we would have missed had you not decided to move. All of the great stories, and photos, and how to make a pot roast or figure out BAM. My life would have missed out on a lot of important information. I'd forgotten about Pi but you reminded me. We need you for all those reminders. Oh! I went over and introduced myself to Ellie and Elizabeth -- thank you for telling me about her -- I love stories!! Have a beautiful day. Sending hugs!! Be SAFE!!!!

Thank you so much for sending me to Ellie and Elizabeth! My mom made that lemon pie when I was a girl a hundred years ago and I have been looking for that recipe for a very long time. The importance of asking our parents for history, recipes and stories of their lives while they are still available to us is sooo important, a lesson learned too late by me unfortunately, so I am happy to have this opportunity to say to people, ask questions, share what you love with your children, pass it on, they will be so glad you did. I think I am talking to someone who knows this lesson well, KariAnne, you are a master! I love your stories and look forward to Thislekeeping every weekend and now you have sent me to a new blog I am sure I will look forward to everyday, thank you for everything you are!

The lemon ice box pie and story were my favorites! Of course, I grew up in the 70's so it was a sweet reminder of my childhood. :-) Safe travels and enjoy! Hugs, Cecilia
