White Christmas

Random thoughts on a cold Monday morning:

1.  Santa Claus is coming to town.

2.  I adore you.

Truly.

If you read this blog you have officially made my year.

3.  As part of a fundraiser, I picked up trash after the basketball game last night.  It was disgusting.  If I never see another plate of nachos smeared into the gym floor it will be too soon.

4.  We are renewing our vows at the end of the month.  As exciting as that is….even better is the pair of shoes I found to walk down the aisle.

Carrie Bradshaw would be proud. 🙂

Cone-Christmas-Trees-550x745If you’ve already finished decorating for Christmas.

Just pin this for next year.

Brilliant idea that I wish I would have thought of first.

Eucalyptus bark trees.

Yes, please.

reindeer cookies

The only thing better than reindeer cookies is if they come in 3-D.

Be the star of the next cookie exchange with reindeer that look like they could fly.

Recipe and instructions found here.

vulnerable hospitality

Perfectly written post on the overwhelmingness of the season.

We’ve all been there.

And a gentle reminder on what’s truly important.

RECIPE-FOR-HOMEMADE-CINNAMON-ROLLS_thumb

This is what I want to be eating under the tree on Christmas morning.

Homemade sourdough cinnamon rolls.

Please, Santa.

They would go perfectly with my new Scottie dog pajamas.

And in other random news.  This week:

This brought me to tears.

Wish I would have thought of this.

Discovered this list of 16 home improvement apps.

Found this fun stocking stuffer.

Planned to make these for New Year’s Eve.

And here’s 20 things we should say more often.  I literally laughed out loud.

decorating for Christmas in the kitchen

In case you missed it….here’s a tour of the farmhouse decked out for Christmas.

It’s been a whirlwind Christmas countdown.

I spent the weekend wrapping packages, going to our basketball homecoming, attending a party, singing at a Christmas concert and drinking hot chocolate.

I’m not ready for Christmas, but I’m trying.

Maybe I should switch to coffee. 🙂

Happy random Monday to you.

Those shoes with the bling are definitely Y-O-U!! And I loved the random acts of kindness - yes I still have tears in my eyes and the little boy with the 20 things you should say more often is adorable. I've asked my Honey about renewing vows and he always says he didn't know there was an expiration date :-( Have a great week and if I don't see you before Christmas - Buon Natale!!

KariAnne, I used to subscribe to about 30 DYI/home décor blogs. I was taking so much time out of my day that I had to drop about 20. I "keep" you because I love your writing, your photos, and, most of all, because you talk to your readers as though we REALLY ARE your friends. Loved the CBS News video, especially now. I discovered something yesterday in a much, MUCH, smaller way. I had percentage-off coupons for Kohl's and Michael's. Couldn't find what I needed in either place. On my way out of the stores, I gave them to people who DID have items in their carts. I know it's cliché to say, "Thank You for Being You" but Thank You for Being You!

KariAnne, I just LOVE the shoes! They are so you! Cinderella shoes! Hope you share some pics with us when you and your husband renew your vows. That is wonderful! Thanks for sharing the Secret Santa Video with us. Brought tears to my eyes. I'm grateful for police officers and nice to see them getting some good and well deserved news story. Merry Christmas to you and your family and everyone reading this!!

Hi Kari! Just wanted to stop by and tell you thank you for including my faux snow in your list! I was doing my obligatory GA check last night and there you were! I really appreciate it. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that the YMCA song is no longer stuck in your head like it is in mine now. Thanks for that! LOL Happy New Year!
