Fall_Farm

Sometimes when I’m on the phone with my friend….I have so much to say….

….that I have to number them.

Just like today.  So here….in no particular order are some random thoughts on a Saturday morning:

1.  We don’t have a stop light in the entire county where I live….but we just got a Dunkin’ Donuts 45 minutes away.  Best. Coffee. Ever.

2.  Has anyone tried on over-the-knee boots lately?  Is it me…or do they look like something from an episode of Battlestar Gallactica?

3.  I’m going old school this Christmas.  Red and white and green.

4.  I just saw in People magazine that another Duggar daughter got married.  Prettiest. Wedding. Dress. Ever.  And no more side hugs. 🙂

5.  I’m spending the day painting a room, organizing a closet and watching football…..

…..how about you?

Dear Lillie

I love a screened porch in fall.

The weather’s crisp and cool and the leaves fall all around you and I pretend like I’m a princess in a tower.

And this screened porch from Jennifer over at Dear Lillie is one of my favorites.

Ella Claire placematLooking for a fun idea for your Thanksgiving placemats?

Here’s an easy idea from Kristen over at Ella Claire.

It’s a free printable even the pilgrims would love.

And speaking of Thanksgiving centerpieces.

Here’s an easy idea for your table from Design Intervention Diary.

Pumpkin + succulents = no stress Thanksgiving.

And in the case you were hungry this morning department.

Here’s a delicious recipe for gingerbread waffles.

I made gingerbread yesterday and the house smelled like someone amazing lived here.

ribbon 2

My friend Colleen just started an etsy shop and posted some of the prettiest ribbon.

It’s all hand-stamped and perfect for Christmas.

My tree needs some. 🙂

And here’s some more Saturday randomness:

It would be so easy to make a table with these.

If you’ve ever used PicMonkey…here are some cool tips that nobody knows.

I’m thinking these would be easy to make for Christmas.

I’m thinking about planting these right now (so easy).

You can make these with a fork?

And….seriously….cutest “why didn’t I think of that”?

Twig_Wreath_Tag_thumb.jpgPS  I was on the news again in Nashville. 🙂

I showed how to make this wreath and one make from fresh magnolias.

It was fun and I learned a lot.

…..especially that I like to use the word “Exactly.” 🙂

Good grief!! Do you live in a totally different time zone?? I just woke up!! LOL. You seem such a neat lady!! I'm happy to have found your blog! I WISH I had a friend, or 2, like you around here:-) Thanks for making my day!

You have to be tall, thin and walk like a model for those boots! Sorry my friend, but you and I wo (and most everyone I know) would have to grow 6 more inches to pull those boots off. Can't imagine that they are even comfortable.

Oh my Karianne I agree soo completely about those crazy boots. (And I'm happy to report so do my two 20 something daughters) #raisedwithfashionsense !! What a lovely and even serene wreath...maybe one i'll attempt. you encourage and inspire me honey...even on a not quite healthy morning. God bless your adorable family and you, esp in this snuggly season ;())

Oh to have your energy! Painting a room AND organizing a closet in one day? That would be about a week project around here. Guess it's a good thing I don't write a blog. LOL I'll just keep reading yours.

I agree about the boots, though my daughter would have loved them. My saturday will be spent working and sleeping. I did set up the crockpot this morning with a roast, diced potatoes, baby carrots and wedged onions. I work from 8 am-4pm, go home, walk the dog, go to bed, get up at 10 pm, eat, walk the dog, then return to work from 1 am -7 am, go home, walk the dog, grab a bite to eat, go to bed, get up at 4 pm, eat, walk the dog, then return to work Sunday night 8 pm- 6 am

Someone amazing does live here - it's you silly! 1. Agree (we've got 4 within 2 miles) 2. Pretty Woman? 3. Classic wins every time (I'm going tartan) 4. She's already pregnant (definitely not a side hug ;)) 5. Same (diy bloggers never stop). Cheers to a productive, beautiful Fall day.

Thank you for including the link to my garlic growing post. You have some beautiful ideas here and I'm looking forward to trying some of them, in particular the twig wreath which I adore.

The boots - I so agree. So glad for the old school Christmas. I love the natural and neutrals, but in my home I like color. Looking forward to seeing what you do.

Me, too...on the green and red for Christmas!!!!! I'm very excited. I am splashing in silver and mercury glass, though!! Yay for Christmas!! And, if you haven't....please try the DD pumpkin flavored coffee. My, oh, my........amazing just begins to describe it! Stock up!! =) And, randomly I submit.... I found a vintage secretary, painted black, for $40 today. I'm giddy! Just had to blurt that out! Happy day!

I love Christmas! Around here we call putting the decor up "sweaty Christmas" as we live in a no-air con apartment in Hawaii, and it can get HOT but I supposed Santa and the beach is not a bad trade! We are going Red and Green traditional Christmas too! We always do, can't shake the feeling of "home" it gives us! I love the links, and my pregnant self sighed in delight at the sight of gingerbread waffles! YUM!

Thank you for sharing my ribbon today! It really means a lot! My day so far has been spent at the Vet getting a toe nail removed on my sweet boxer Maggie that she split last night...she is a little loopy at the moment but snoozing. I said a teary goodbye to my parents who are leaving town on their very first retirement adventure...that was hard, I smiled, hugged, waived, then turned to go inside and cried. Now I plan to head to the grand opening of Two Chicks In a Barn where I have many of my Lilac Drive treasures on consignment (and ribbon too!). I will be working on some custom orders and maybe raking a few leaves...busy but beautiful fall day!

Loved reading your random post! I'm 5' 10 inches tall...and I think those over the knee boots look just "exactly" perfect on the models who are photographed in them ....but for a normal, fun, everyday, loving gal....it's to over the top for me! Glad I took a break from what I was doing...and read your post! You're ALWAYS a Divine Inspiration! I've been taking off all of the lights on a 6 1/2 ft. pre-lit Christmas tree that was sentenced to the dump by the school I work at. For some crazy reason I still see potential in this tree...tho some of the lights were all burned out on it and took it home. I know....it's the "Charlie Brown Christmas Syndrome" that I feel this time of year concerning Christmas Trees!! This morning I was with wire cutters....taking those lights off the tree. Wha-ta-job! Now onto some creativity! Hope you know...you're the inspiration for all of this!!! I've got the magazine article you were featured in to help me blow the minds of my husband and kids away!! Take care and wishing You a Super Great Weekend!!

Someone amazing does live at your house!! In fact several someones. :-) I just got my KariAnne T-shirt. I love it and I'm wearing it now -- over my sweater. It's cold here - my blood hasn't gotten used to this damp weather. I will wear my shirt when I'm working on the blog -- for inspiration. After all you're the top Rock Star :-)

You seem so relaxed in the segment. In your element. Today I had a garage sale. Needed that DD coffee. My favorite, too.

Hey there. I'm a news producer in Dallas, Texas. If you're ever in the DFW area, I'd love to have you on my show doing segments similar to this.

Over the knee boots? Not when you are 5' tall, or should I say 5' short? Sounds like you are having a productive day. I love those days when I get so much done. I had a great day finding some amazing things at the store that used to be Garden Ridge but is now At Home. I also discovered that a Home Goods is opening this Thursday right near me!! Time to celebrate!

I'm always fascinated with what you do on the weekends, but FOR ONCE I think I may be able to one-up you. I received via FedEx 250 copies of my first book! I'm so excited to be able to encourage and inspire people through inspirational thoughts from the scriptures!

Watched the telecast and it was so nice to see you in action and hear your voice! You are so cute and have such a fun personality. Wish you had your own tv show ;). I am going outside tomorrow and collect twigs from my silver maples----gotta make that darling wreath!

Instead of "exactly" you could say righto mate -- give it a little English sound to it. Or try a French word -- I would write it but I didn't take French in school. How about "ah so, little grasshopper". I bet you're too young to remember that show. But your exactly sounds so you!! Cute as a button!!

  20. Image for Kim Gibson Kim Gibson

I'm so excited to see your red and white and green Christmas decor! When it comes to Christmas, I always go with traditional colors. Can't wait to see what you do!

  21. Image for Christine Christine

Karianne, Everyone's talking about boots but I just loved watching you talk about wreaths on tv! That is so cool!! I would love a magnolia tree. Very, very, pretty wreath! I get a kick out a watching you tal on tv. Thanks for sharing, and don't forget to respond to the Dallas new producer. Ha! That would be so fun to learn you went to Texas to show your craft ideas on tv. take care, Christine

Can a person really paint a room, organize a closet and watch football all in one day? You're a better woman than I am, KariAnne, haha!

Great job as always! Wish we could sit and chat while drinking sweet tea sometime. Keep up the great work, your blog is always a highlight of my day.
