Random thoughts on a cloudy wanting to be sunny Saturday morning:
1. Hydrangea season is here. Did you know if your hydrangea wilts you can bring it back? Recut the stem at an angle ust place it in a cold bowl of water for several minutes.
2. It was an amazing week on another scintillating episode of “What I Bought Wednesday” including the cutest pillow for only $12.
You can see the episode over on my YouTube channel here.
3. I just finished “The Nightingale” by Kristin Hannah. I cried and wept and wished I could help in some way and my heart was so happy at the ending. For everyone who recommended this book to me? I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
4. It was an amazing week on the blog. We talked about ideas for adding a little beach into your decorating and how to make the best 2-ingredient vegetable dip and ideas for red white and blue decorating and these simple ideas for outdoor entertaining.
5. Have you ever frozen grapes before? Someone told me they are amazing.
6. We’ve been listening to the podcast, “The Pitch” and it’s so fascinating to me. Kind of like Shark Tank in business form.
And now?
Let’s see all the stuff I’ve found for us from around the web.
Spoiler alert: it’s amazing. 🙂

Nightingale on my list! So many friends recommended it! Hope you have some down time at the beach! xo laura
How To Make a Rainy Day Better: Read Thistlekeeping, of course! In answer to your questions, frozen grapes are the bomb. And you can try just a few to see if you like it before committing to a whole bunch. Extra thanks for the popcorn bar link. I just may be using that idea in the near future!
Now you need to read Firefly Lane! Same author. Same wonderful! Happy Weekend!
It's being made into a series for Netflix. I can't wait.
Hi KariAnne, I always enjoy reading your posts and your Wednesday shopping tips! Question … maybe it’s how I’m watching your video, but everything is reverse of what it should be in viewing. When you held up the “Makeup” towel, the wording is backwards. It’s like you video yourself using a mirror. It’s like the video part should be flipped so everything reads correctly. Any ideas on how to fix that?
Frozen red grapes are in our freezer all summer! Great treat on a hot day:)
Yes. Frozen grapes are amazingly good...and thanks for reminding me! Using you as an inspiration, I've finally got myself back on a sensible eating plan and recall now that frozen grapes are a wonderful substitute for ice cream or other frozen desserts.
Thank you so much for sharing my house tour today KariAnne! I hope you enjoyed your time at the Cape! Have the best weekend!!
I am so glad you finished The Nightingale, KariAnne! I think we have no idea what the generations before us endured during the wars. I feel so humbled when I realize the true cost of war and not just on the military, but the citizens! I know this book will stay with you a long time. Kathy
The Nightingale is one of my very favorite books. I highly recommend Kristin Hannah's newest book, The Four Winds. I read so many books during this past year, and this one stands out as one of the best of the bunch. Have an amazing day!
I just finished The Nightingale. WOW! No words to express the emotions that it aroused in me. I read The Four Winds a couple of weeks ago, and it was also a page turner. Another book, Comfort and Joy by Hannah is another good read. I think it was one of her earlier books.
Thank you, I enjoyed all the goodies, hope you are having a peaceful rest with your family.
As usual the Saturday wrap up rocks! Thanks for everything-enjoy the Cape.
The Nightingale was the best book I’ve ever read (the writer unfortunately did not follow through with another book this good).
Frozen grapes are great! Bonefish Restaurant serves its Pomegranate Martini with 3 frozen grapes on a toothpick. The grapes keep the martini cold and do not interfere with the taste. Yum!
Yes, frozen grapes are awesome. After washing, I count out 12 in little snack size baggies and then put all those into a large Zip loc to freeze. The MOST AWESOME are the green grapes that tout that they taste like cotton candy. I reluctantly paid the extra price for them not expecting much. They taste JUST LIKE cotton candy.
