Plate-Wall-flowers

(bird plate wall tutorial if you want to make one of your own)

I spent yesterday afternoon listening to the gossip from sixth grade.

It was a steady stream of conversation.  Like who liked who and what so and so said……and who was going with who.

And that the teacher started at the end of the alphabet for class leader.

And that Monday they were serving chicken nuggets.

Super important life changing information.

Good thing I didn’t miss a word. 🙂

Kitchen home tour

When I was at Haven I was lucky enough to meet a talented blogger and designer named Krystine Edwards.

She’s funny and amazing and creative.

Here is one of the homes she and her husband just completed.

And this is only the kitchen.

Wait until you see the rest of the house. 🙂

Here’s a great idea for fall.

Make a DIY scented campfire candle from PoppyTalk.

Perfect way to bring the outside in.

Start with a camp mug and create your own.

homespun

I’m excited to have my burlap flower project featured in the August issue of Homespun.

To see the magazine you can click here.

To get directions for the project click here.

In other random news this week:

Yahoo featured the best-selling lipstick ever (and it’s red). 🙂

Here’s a list of 50 things you should stop buying and start making (not sure about mascara?).

Love, love, love this DIY.  Why didn’t I think of that?

Perfect tribute to Robin Williams.

And my favorite craft idea of the week.

And one more for the road.

I’m partnering with one of my sponsors, ebay to create a series of decorating guides for them over the next few months.

Here’s one I just finished on How to Decorate With Milk Glass.  You can check it out…..here.

Have an amazing week and happy random Saturday to you!

My dad was an elem school principal. He would tell parents."..I am not sure what they tell you about me, but you would be surprised what they tell me about you. " When I had kids at home...my daughter would spend the first 30 minutes telling me school gossip from k-12. My son would just go outside and play or ride his motorbike. Those days are gone...and this empty nest house is too quiet! Sheila

Sigh! I just love that kitchen! Someday. Hey, the bird plates are awesome, I remember when you first posted them. I am glad you showed them again this time of year, it is making me think of possibilities for Halloween vinyls on plates, hmm. Have a great weekend!

Karianne, The girl gossip is very entertaining. I remember my daughter telling her friend that was visiting after school how a boy on the bus said to her: 'I like you but you don't like me 'aint' that neat?!' That's one way of flirting haha! Still makes me grin. Christine

I wonder how many tubes of lipstick you just sold :) I love that shade! I know as you get older you're supposed to go lighter but you know what? Go big or go home! Love the red and the posts you shared. Love 'ya girl! Thanks for always inspiring and motivating me to stretch further and higher!

Did you make the white platters with the black birds? I just love those! Also, I recently completed my library and I was inspired by you (ordered the fabric online at your recommended website). I will try and send pictures (not sure how to do that?) of the before and after. I still have a 13 year old at home and I love the "chatter and gossip"....so fun to see them develop socially. Happy Saturday!
