Random thoughts on a brilliantly sunny crisp fall morning:
1. There is no better weather than crisp fall. When you walk out your door and the sun is shining and there’s a chill in the air and the morning is crisp and you run back into the house to get a sweater on.
It’s the weather when cold is still fun.
2. It’s official. All Christmas all the time on the Hallmark channel. I just heard someone singing Hark the Herald Angels Sing in the other room.
3. I went to the BEST yard sale yesterday. The kind where your pile of things you are buying starts at the front door. I found a GIANT 48″ piece of beautiful needlepoint art in fall colors. Details to come.
4. Last night was our homecoming here in town. In sad news, we lost in double overtime. In what in the world news, I saw people I went to high school with. They looked so much older than I think I look. How is that possible when still think I look so young?
Has anyone else noticed this?
Am I the only one?
And now?
Let’s see what the internet has been up to this week.

And can we still be friends if I tell you nothing makes me happier than a messy house tour?
There’s just something real about it.
Here’s one of my favorites.

My mother cannot thank you enough for all the sweet comments on this post about this room.
I had dozens and dozens and DOZENS of e-mails about the stuff in the room.
I need to get better about sharing sources so I’m starting today.
Here are the links for the products in the room (please be aware that a few of these are affiliate links).
Let me know if I missed any. 🙂

Yes! There's a pretty famous woman running for congress in my state. She sent a campaign postcard to our home with a lg photo of her face. I counldn't believe how old she looked and we are the same age! It was not a flattering picture at all. Must be all the political stress. I, too, LOVE messy home tours. Cleaning inspiration!
Thank you! I love those blankets! Just ordered a few for …. I have no clue just yet …. laura in CO
I feel so much better after the messy house tour. Seriously, thank you! Carol
Love the fall also!!! You did miss a fun time at the Silobration 2018. My husband and I drove down from MN and enjoyed our time in Waco and the state of Texas. Although we could have skipped the downpour the Friday night of our concert tickets. Chip and Joanna are so entertaining and Magnolia Market and the Silos are so amazing. Along with other stores like the Findery just down the block from Magnolia. Cupcakes were delicious from the Silo Bakery. It is true also about some people looking so much older. I guess a harder life shows on some more than others,
I did not go to my High School reunion, but one person posted pictures on Facebook. I thought do i look like them. Naturally I said NO! I love the color of your mother's room. I agree there is nothing like fall crisp, cool air. Marilyn
My husband rocks for many reasons, but one of those is because he regularly tells me how much younger I look than other women who are my age. :) And I'm sure the same is true for you!
HA, I wasn’t even looking at the messy kitchen with those beautiful cabinets and counters!
There is an old woman that looks in my window... Oh my stars! That’s a mirror!!! Blessings to you! Minnie
The dresser makeover to a vintage looking apothecary one from "Maison De Pax" is nice but I think she was learned by watching it from the DIY dresser makeovers post from "The Painted Hive". And by comparison that one looks really great!
My parents are 85 and 86. They went to a high school class reunion not long ago and as they were driving home decided not to attend another one. Everyone there looked and acted older than them.
Those glittered leaves in the first shot give me heart eyes!! Does hairspray help keep the glitter from getting everywhere?!? Love me some Thistlekeeping!!! xoxoxo
KariAnne, this past weekend I had my 50th high school reunion. How can that be when I do not feel any different than when I was 40? Anytime I felt a bit insecure, I thought, "What would KariAnne do?" So I put on my rose colored lipstick, because red does not suit me, smiled, and moved on. What a fun weekend it was!
