Random thoughts on a hot Saturday morning:
1. My Cecilia sent me this sweet painting as a thank you for giving her some ideas to decorate her living room at the farm. It’s Cape Cod and my favorite part? If you look closely you can find hearts in the sand.
2. Did anyone else watch Making It? It is the cutest craft/DIY show on NBC. One of my friends, local Dallas blogger, Joyce from At Home With Jemma was on it. Her quilt project was super cute.
3. My sister Whitney is in town and sitting at the desk right next to me. She’s helping me with a fun project I’m working on that I can’t wait to tell you all about in September.
4. Is anyone else into fall?
I wasn’t.
Not even a little bit.
And then August showed up and I found these pumpkins.
I think I’m going to DIY a version to keep all my blue and white company.
And now?
Let’s see what the internet has been up to this week.
And speaking of fall.
I was looking for decorating ideas and found this.
How did fall end up with all the best colors?

I found this simple DIY to make a lavender sachet.
Perfect for packing away summer linens later this fall.
See the DIY here.
Love this idea for a blank wall.
What until you see the before.
Check out the DIY for this paneled wall project here.
I am all about vintage containers lately.
Especially after I found this.
Loved this post on using vintage containers for plants.

And in random news this week:
The leather poufs in this house tour
The copper lights in this kitchen
This sweet family room
Where to buy flowers
These super affordable chairs I just bought for my dining room
This gallery wall display
This beautiful house tour
Decorating with pattern on pattern
And the number one question from this week.
No.
I’m not painting this.
Looking for a few more fall ideas?
Oh, good.
Me, too.
Here are some fun fall display ideas just for you.
Happy random Saturday to you.

Everything always looks so lovely. Why does everything have to be so dang expensive? I would have to paint my own pumpkins, spray my own kitchen lights etc. ~ poor in Indiana.
Create a tutorial when you diy the pumpkins please. My last try was an epic fail so I would love to see how someone else approaches it. And the black and white buffalo check pumpkins that Ballard Designs have make me want to try again :D
Hobby Lobby has black and white check pumpkins. I'm sure they are a lot cheaper than Ballard Designs. :D
I guess I should add that they are fabric.
So nice to spend a Saturday with a sister!
Thank goodness you are not painting that beautiful dresser!!
I’m so glad you like the painting. Seems like a small thank you for helping get my living room pulled together. You created a monster ( a good monster but one nonetheless lol) - I am happily adding splashes of color in my dining area and open kitchen cabinets. Color this artist’s heart happy! I have pumpkins that need redoing. Can’t wait to se how yours turn out! Happy weekend! Cecilia
Wonderful painting, do you live here on Cape?
Hi Karianne! I do have a RANDOM question on this random weekend! I was reading your old posts about covering books and using the tags from Hobby Lobby to label them. How did you PRINT on the labels? If you have time could you tell me? Thank you and I do so love your blog! (-:
Hello Karianne! I live on Cape Cod and that painting is spot on! Do you want to come and visit me? I have a very comfortable bedroom for you to stay if you're ever on the Cape! I wish you hadn't shown me the blue and white pumpkins.....I just converted my kitchen to all blue and white and am really into pumpkins and our upcoming fall season! I was so inspired by your beautiful living room......it seemed just right to make my kitchen blue/white! I'd love to show you all my stuff! LOL! So I'm going back to your blog now and will check out all the links! Happy (almost) Fall Y'all!
I want that tall blue and white pumpkin SOOOO bad but it's way too expensive. WHAAAAAA:):) I am STARTING to think about Fall. I love it but hate to lose summer.
You know I'm checking out those renter projects! ;-) Thanks, sister! Hope you are having a GREAT weekend! (Oh, and I KNOW you will rock those pumpkins!)
You always find the most beautiful, creative and inspiring ideas to share Karianne! Thank you so, so much for including mine this week! You just made my day sweet friend!
I'm so glad you're not painting the little dresser that could... I love the blue and whit pumpkins but not the price tag - do you think we can find some paper with those designs to decoupage them??
Thanks for sharing sweet friend. That beautiful painting is such a thoughtful gift you'll treasure for years to come...can't wait to see where you hang it!
I love putting my plants on stools, that way I can show off my collection of stools!!!
