Here are a few random thoughts on a Saturday morning.

1. The sunrise this morning painted the trees orange.

2. I have decided that leggings are never going to be pants.  No matter how hard they try.  Even if they are velvet.  Even if they are faux denim with pockets.  Even if they try to rename themselves jeggings.  It’s simply not going to happen.

3. There’s a new Netflix series out called The Crown I’m going to start watching.  It had me at Queen Elizabeth.

4. I shopped at Target for Christmas and almost fainted in the aisle.  It was so amazing I can’t even.  I don’t want to spoil December on the blog for you, but it’s full of marble Christmas trees.

5.  Can we start a campaign to bring mittens back?

6.  Did anyone see the blonde-haired Cubs player’s wife sing God Bless America?  She was AMAZING.

6.  And finally, I have never, ever, ever been so happy….

….to see the back side of a week. 🙂

That's Juliana Zobrist who sang the anthem. Ben helped win the World Series for the Royals last year and while they lived here, their children attended Classical Conversations (homeschool support) so some local friends her tell me they are a wonderful family.

Karianne, I just love reading what you have to say. You are so inspiring and so refreshing. Hope the kids are doing well. I glad you are so happy! I feel like you are a special friend. Thank you for sharing your art, talents, and life.

Bunch of hugs and kisses for two wonderful cuties and "don't let the door hit you on your way out" to the past week!

Hope you and the family are doing well, settling down after one heck of a week. I'm going to be watching you very closely -- I'm going to be hosting TThanksgiving and Christmas. The cooking I've got covered -- easy peasy. Now, the decorating I'm going to need a Dummy's guide. I'm hoping you're going to have some easy centerpieces for me to follow :-( Have a great weekend, take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy. Sending hugs!!

Thistlekeeping is packed with so much awesomeness- YOU never disappoint!! It is always the best part of the morning (even if I'm not finished perusing until the afternoon)! Hoping and Praying that all continues to progress into full recovery for the Twinthistles. They are such beautiful young ladies, just like their Mother. Wishing a wonderful weekend to all of you and an extra hour of much needed sleep too. Thank-you for another delightful post.

So happy that the girls are home safe and sound and the difficult week is behind you. May the healing hand of the Father be upon them. I absolutely adored the Thanksgiving playlist. It will create truly happy feet. Viewing fall in New England is on my bucket list. Last week the hubby and I took our first vacation alone together in 10 years and went to British Columbia. Talk about fall. I think you would love my post on Butchart Gardens. My eyes filled with tears when I viewed the gloriousness of the sunken garden for the first time.

Watched the first two episodes of the Crown....Loved! It was all I could do not to binge. John Lithgow plays Winston Churchill and he is fabulous.

Hope your girls are recovering (and you are recovering too)! I love that you feature some of my favorite bloggers as well as introduce me to new ones. I just got home from First Fridays in the West Bottoms of Kansas City, and while the crowds are a little crazy, I think you would love all the shops. I often look at items there and think "what would Kari Anne do with that??

Keep us posted on your girls. :) I like leggings ... sooooo comfy .... but under a long tunic or a dress or skirt, please! Ditto on the mittens. I have a 2-needle knitting pattern for them and the first pair I knit met with moderate success. The second pair turned out beautifully ... if I was knitting them for Goliath. Sigh. They are soooooooooo much warmer than gloves and cute and cozy, too!

KariAnne, do pray that your girls are feeling a little better today and that you have had some time to just rest. We continue to keep you all in our prayers. Have a blessed weekend! Blessings!

I buy most of my Christmas decorations at the after Christmas sales and here Target is one of the dearer stores although things are changing and they are becoming more affordable.
