family-room-decorating-ideas

If you read the blog….you might have seen this room before.

Umm….maybe 1000 times.

Seriously.

Are you ever like….I mean….we really like you and your sign and your milk container and your chairs and your tan couches and your basket on the coffee table with those random weights holding down those decorating magazines….

….but can you show us something new?

Why yes, rock star.

As a matter of fact…..I can. 🙂

How-To-Decorate-a-Living-Room

I’m joining up with six other incredible bloggers next week and we are all taking one room and decorating it three different ways.

Here was the challenge:

(1)  Shop the house

(2)  Do not spend over $100

(3) Completely transform the room three different ways.

Chalkboard-Calendar

I seriously wish we had a time machine and it was next Tuesday.

I can’t WAIT until you see all three rooms.

Ah…to….the….mazing.

As in giant dice used as a coffee table.

And a bird chandelier.

And hot pink scrapbook paper.

After all here at Thistlewood…..

….it’s go big….or go home. 🙂

PS  All of my rooms and I can’t wait to see  you next week….June 25-27th.

PPS  If a giant dice coffee table isn’t your thing…..just check out these unusual coffee table ideas I put together over at the Lamps Plus Blog today!

What a FUN challenge!! Geez -- I can barely get my rooms decorated ONCE, let alone 3 times/3 ways! But seriously? What a great way to stretch your creativity... can't wait to see what you come up with! xo Heidi

KariAnne.....I absolutely adore reading anything you write! You are, without a doubt, the sharpest tack in the box..., the brightest bulb in the package..., the shiniest gem in the jewelry box...., okay I'll stop now. LOL...seriously, what I wouldn't give to be your friend and neighbor! Is there anything you can't do? Love your home and decorating style, and I'm sure you won't disappoint us with your room changes. I have no doubt yours will be the best.....

Can't wait! Sometimes I think that's the neatest thing about moving to a new house . . . you get to put all your old stuff in new places, and they look totally different! Looking forward to seeing what you've come up with!

I've just recently discovered your blog. I love it! You are such a talented writer and storyteller. I'm trying to finish my final paper for my Master's program. I keep thinking I wish you were my friend so you could tell me how to end it! Anyway, thank you for your wonderful posts. I truly enjoy them!

Karianne, I can't wait but I need to tell you that I never get tired of looking a pic of your house. It is absolutely what I would want if I could snap my fingers and transport myself. Actually pull up the house tour often. Not that I'm stalking you, just to get more ideas for when I finally have the time/money/energy to copy some of the ideas. BTW was listening to the radio coming home today and "Walking on Sunshine" came on and when it talk about...."I can't wait til you write and tell me your comin around" I thought of you and your hubby when he was doing the military thing and you with your press on nails.
