Yesterday I was in the store staring at the Christmas decorations and I rolled my eyes for the millionth time and thought to myself….

….why does everyone have to put up Christmas decorations so early?

After all….it’s not even November.

And then I realized I was wrong and it hit me all of a sudden….

When did that happen?

When did November just show up?

October…I miss you already.

In case you’re like me and you miss October, too….

This is the time when I show my stubborn side -- I want to dig in my heels and NOT let time shove me forward too fast. My gosh it is almost Thanksgiving!! I know! I know! I shouldn't have said anything especially since you just realized it's November. Where did September go?? Did we have a September? I remember August, I think. We must have had a June and July. And yesterday it hit me I have to start thinking of Christmas presents. ARRRGH!! And dig out our Christmas tree- it's in the closet -- Charlie Brown style alpine tree. You know that skinny little tree people use to fill up space. It's already decorated -- lights, that's it. I am just not ready!! I love this time of year but I'm just not ready. :-(

In my book, October is the only "Fall" month. September is too hot to think about cool, crisp days and once November hits, it's time to think Christmas. Although I haven't started putting anything up (burlap pumpkins are still hanging around), I am thinking about when to start. Mmmmm.... next week, I think! I'll just decorate inside so the neighbors don't think I'm nuts. ;)

I realized on Saturday, November first, that I was pinning Christmas decorations. At least I had subconsciously held off until then!! :) It's already flying by, isn't it? Happy day, my friend!

I know you have probably been asked this lots of times, but I didn't see it anywhere....where did you get the big white wool acorns, and do you have a close up of them? I am a little in love with them...and, thank you.

It came so quickly! Woke up thinking the holidays today!! Your painted porch project was amazing, but not sure I have the patience…my lines would be so crooked…

Good Morning!! I too... am already missing October...the scent of fall... the changing color of the leaves... Just that little bit of "coolness" in the air.....YEP: the fall decor will stay out.. up .... until I make myself pack it back up .. and replace it with the Christmas garland, etc..... I do love Christmas too.... BUT MY FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR IS FALL!!! Glorious Autumn!!!! A week in the Smokies with tremendous color this year just makes me miss October even more!! :) ... So thankful for this amazing season and the opportunity to enjoy it to the max!!!!!

I appreciate your 'missing' October. I keep the October spirit alive by going all out for Fall. No Christmas decorations at my house until the end of November or early December. I love the Autumn season, the tradition of celebrating the harvest, all the lovely Fall colors (even if I have to add the color here in Florida)! Keep that Fall going for another month! You deserve it!

It is going quickly isn't it! Yikes! I'm not ready to start thinking about Christmas...it's not even Thanksgiving yet. And I miss October too...it's my favorite month! I think because to me it's the beginning of the cozy time! The snuggle in, roaring fire, colorful leaves, watch a great football game, read a good book while under a favorite throw time! Now, the leaves have all fallen, the raking is all done, the spring bulbs have been planted...and it's time to be thankful! Let's keep Fall a little while longer...okay? ;)

I'm with you....how did October come and go so fast?! And...I've been rolling my eyes for the past month at all the Christmas stuff already in the stores. Crazy! I'm SO not ready for it! I would have loved it if October could have gone on at least a couple more weeks.
