If you like looking at things from a new perspective and styling ideas and lots and lots of pictures….

….today is going to be fun.

I’m partnering with Kirkland’s today to style this simple pallet top table three different ways using items from Kirkland’s and shopping my house.

If you have been reading this blog for more than five minutes you know I am always up for a challenge.

So I couldn’t just show you a simple picture with everything in place.

I had to show you how I styled it.  The process.  Where I started.  What went first.  What went last.

Yep.

Every. Single. Step. Of. The. Way.

Neutral

First stop.

Coral.

Each time I started with the table and this amazing scrollwork piece as the back drop.

So here’s where we started.

Coral 10

And here’s what it looks like now.

Wait for it…..the picture moves. 🙂

Here’s the process (you can click on the links for pricing and more information).

I started by layering iron work pieces.

Then the chair and a velvet cotton coral pillow and a beautiful print pillow.

Then a coral tin vase and wood stems.

Then a wooden pedestal and bird and a gold weathervane.

And finished it all off with a metal sphere.

Here’s her close-up.

Second stop.

Turquoise.

Just a reminder where we started.

Neutral

Turquoise 10

And here’s what it looks like now.

(another moving picture).

Here’s the process (you can click on the links for pricing and more information).

I started with an 8 x 10 distressed frame I used to frame a quote I had.

I added a white farmhouse stool and a chevron turquoise pillow.

Then I added the lamp and vintage turquoise toolbox.

I filled the toolbox with white dishes and added a “love you to the moon and back” sign with turquoise lettering.

Lastly I added a white metal basket (here’s a similar one on sale) and filled it with books and magazines.

And here’s her close-up.

Last stop.

Neutral.

Just a reminder again where we started.

Neutral

And here’s what it looks like now.

Neutral 8

And here’s the process.

(last moving picture). 🙂

I started with the burlap wreath and attached chalkboard frame.

Then I added this (my very favorite piece of all) wooden box filled with glass bottles.

I added bookpage flowers to the bottles.

Filled a driftwood bowl (on sale) with different textures of spheres and placed it on an antique chair.

Lastly, I added a driftwood sphere on a stack of books.

I loved the coral! I think I might have to introduce so coral in my home! The $100 gift card to my favorite store, Kirkland's, would really make it easy! Thanks for a great giveaway, Karianne! Love your blog!

  2. Image for Lady Delores LeBoeuf Lady Delores LeBoeuf

I love the burlap arrangement and I love the Kirkland store here in my hometown of Fresno, California, hope I win, it would be a thrill of a life time.

  3. Image for Marnie Marnie

Boy, this is a hard choice because I love them all. I think I would go with the coral as well. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

  4. Image for Babette Thurston Babette Thurston

I really love all 3! Especially the coral & turquoise ! My guest room and my soon to be outdoor space will be in these colors! Gorgeous all 3!

  5. Image for Jenna Jenna

Although I love the fun flower filled bottles in #3, it just looks too staged~ and I do love the aqua in #2, my very favorite color, but the coral one wins my vote, it's fresh and different and looks like it would be part of my decor and not just a pretty picture! They are all gorgeous though, love all the elements!

  6. Image for Amy K Amy K

I love the coral. I think it's unexpected and interesting. I like the Turquoise too, but not really a fan of the neutral. Maybe it's the white flowers throwing me off.

  7. Image for Kimberly Rable Kimberly Rable

My favorite is the turquoise...but, I'm going to mix it up with a few of the neutral pieces from each! I'm going to kirklands today! I love your blog AND I faithfully wear my Rock Star t-shirt...it helps me ooze with GIRL POWER!!!

  8. Image for Katie Katie

I loved the coral because of the nest and the bird-so sweet. But actually I really liked it when you hadn't finished with the neutral, just the wreath and the case with bottles-simple and rustic:)

  9. Image for Lisa at celebrate creativity Lisa at celebrate creativity

Hi Karianne, each design has its own personality but there is just something about those coral accents that really speak to me (even though I have absolutely no coral in my house). You know what else caught my eye in a big way? That simple pallet tabletop. What a lovely backdrop that would make for food photography. Yes in every area of home decor, my mind automatically goes there-lol. Is the tabletop also from Kirklands?

  10. Image for Teresa Harral Teresa Harral

I love all three however being summer, i found the coral first presentation most eye catching. Loved the moving pictures!!!!!

  11. Image for Jenni Farnes Jenni Farnes

i love the coral...those metal pieces and that little birdie just captured me. oh...and that little weathervane. sigh.

  12. Image for michele michele

love the neutral decorations ...the different textures play very nicely with each other and lend a summer feel to the grouping.

  13. Image for Donna Donna

The coral is my "fav" but I would like to take bits and pieces from all 3. Sweet to add your own flavor which is exactly what you have always done, right???

  14. Image for susana casselman susana casselman

I love all three, but I just love the Coral with the bird's nest.... thank you as always for your beautiful ideas!

  15. Image for Debra White Debra White

I love all three. Each one is beautiful. If I had to choose; it would have to be the coral. Such a pretty color.

  16. Image for Peg Peg

Hmmm, I love the coral, but I'm also crushing on the neutral because it reminds me of Thistlewood Farm. Aaaah, ummm, eeerr, neutral!!! : )

  17. Image for Sandra Sandra

I love all three designs, however if I had to choose I would say table #1 is perfect for summer! As always, love your style.

  18. Image for mary mary

I love your style, I really do.But for me, just this time, and maybe because I am trying to declutter....I love the empty table. I think it's waiting for a vase of hydrangeas and a few old gardening books .

  19. Image for Kate Kate

I love both the turquoise & the coral!! If I have to pick just one...the coral. Where did you get that cute print in the turquoise one?

  20. Image for Mary Paine Mary Paine

I'm all about coral this spring. Loved the pillows and the birdie in her nest. Good job on the "animation"!

  21. Image for Christy H Christy H

I love the coral......I am in the process of redoing my bedroom with accents of.....you guessed it - coral! I think I will have to go to Kirkland's and pick up that coral pillow!

  22. Image for Tina Tina

I love the turquoise version the best- how odd as I have no turquoise in my home? Hmm- that gift card would help with the shopping trip I now have planned. Thanks!

  23. Image for Julie Julie

Love the turquoise. Could change the sign to "Love you to the beach and back". That would be fun. Very good ideas!

  24. Image for Diane Diane

I love them all, but the wood, burlap and paper (the last one) feels so warm and farmhouse like. So very pretty!

  25. Image for May May

The coral. Something about the little bird is so upbeat, and I need me some upbeat today. Thanks for sharing - and, by the way, they are all absolutely loverly, of course.

  26. Image for Christine Christine

Karianne, thsee photos every single one of them are outstandingly awesome! Wow I will save this post for future decorating ideas. Thanks! thank you very much for another great giveaway I have stopped at Kirkland for years when it was in the mall. Still have a gorgeous picture hanging on my bedroom wall from there store. Thank you, friend.

  27. Image for Kerry Purcell Kerry Purcell

Ooooh la la . . . LOVE the coral. Perfection in every way. And, oh my goodness, just love the idea of winning a Kirkland's gift card. You are awesome,, Karianne!

  28. Image for Ter'e Ter'e

I want to say.......I have never tried Kirkland's, but I have been dying to. I'm getting ready to buy a new house and want to be sure the new items will work. I have never been a fan of coral......but I can tell you........the first makeover, the coral one, made me so happy. I saw it come together and VOILA.......I started amiling. The coral version, hands down. I'm still smiling. Thanks for the chance!!!!

  29. Image for Vanessa Vanessa

I love the first one with the coral! One of my favorite colors! Just painted one of my bedrooms coral. Would love to decorate it with pretty things from Kirklands, one of my favorite stores!! Thank you, Kirklands, for being a fun store to shop!!

  30. Image for Sheila Moore Sheila Moore

I love the turquoise one as it looks pretty casual. But the coral really rocks as my favorite color of all time! Love shopping Kirkland's!

  31. Image for Ellie Ellie

I really love them all, but I love the first one the best, which kinda surprises me because I'm a neutral kind of girl. I love the natural elements you incorporated.

  32. Image for Sheila Sheila

I like all three - the turquoise and coral are both great for spring/summer and the neutral would be great for fall/winter and so easy to add in seasonal and holiday colors. What a fun post!!

  33. Image for Sandy Sandy

Great idea with the moving pictures..I agree with Mary; that perhaps I would go for a "less is more"look with simplicity. I think it is generous of Kirklands to offer a giveaway with your blog. I think your ideas give everyone some motivation to switch some things up, and get a few fresh items to energize your living spaces.

  34. Image for Lisa Bernard Lisa Bernard

I love the first one. I am decorating a new home in Florida. I currently live in Maryland and there is a Kirkland's nearby. I am definitely going to stop there to do some shopping this week. Love the things I see on this tablescape.

  35. Image for Toni Toni

I loved the coral one best as it looked so fresh and the coral just pops. Loved the elements too, especially the velvet pillow!

  36. Image for Rita Rita

I adore the coral theme...for me it is about that yummy color and the coral pieces you picked to decorate with...just lovely! BTW your moving pictures are spot on!!!

  37. Image for Bette P. Bette P.

The gorgeous coral one is my fave!! How can anyone not feel good when they see the color coral?! Love all the elements of this design, including that cute little feathered fellow!

  38. Image for Becky muckenthaler Becky muckenthaler

I like all 3! I especially like how this site is showing the placement of the items. But, if I have to pick one, I'd go with with turquoise. It's nice that I can make out the pieces even on my cellphone screen.

  39. Image for Casey H. Casey H.

Definitely the coral! So many of my favorite things: great fabrics, birds and natural elements. Great job, Karianne. Thank you!

  40. Image for Colleen Colleen

Hi Karianne! This is tough I love elements of all three but...... I'm going with the tourqoise. It's simple and classy. Thanks for the offer to win a card.

  41. Image for Marisa Franca @ All Our Way Marisa Franca @ All Our Way

Overall I loved the coral but it was hard to choose. I loved certain elements out of each one. I like the wreath in the neutral too. We used to have a Kirklands close by -- now it's a bit further. It might be a good thing because I was known to hound the aisles at Kirklands. You did a fantastic job on all three. You rock!!

  42. Image for Debrah Nash Debrah Nash

My favorite was the distressed too box with the dishes in it. I love vintage English china and anytime I can display it I'm onboard!! I have been walking through Kirkland's for at least 2 decades(I was a wee child when I first discovered Kirkland>>>>>> ahem!). Beautiful table landscape all three but as soon as I saw the dishes I was drooling!!! Thanks for sharing all your great ideas!!!

  43. Image for Cate Cate

I love the pops of color in both the coral and the turquoise tables scapes, and how they each can bring life into a room, but I think my overall fave is the neutral. You've taught me a real appreciation for the neutral color palette, and I'm lovin' it!

  44. Image for Jane Jane

Each version is awesome, KariAnne. I really love the bird in the nest and the blue wooden tote. You've worked your magic again! There is a Kirkland's next to where my daughter works...needless to say, I visit her a lot!! lol! Jane x

  45. Image for Cate Cate

I love how the pops of color in the coral and the turquoise vignettes bring life to the room, but I must say that my overall fave is the neutral. You've taught me a true appreciation for the neutral color palette....I love it!

  46. Image for Kris Kris

This reminds me of Layla's Pick My Presto, which is so much fun. It's the simple things that keep me happy. Coral is my fave.

  47. Image for renee renee

I love the Coral one! It was very soothing! I love, love, love the Iron pieces that you used!! Not too busy just the right amount of items used on the table! LOVE IT!!!

  48. Image for Jennifer Essad Jennifer Essad

I like them all but will go with the first one, I've not yet used coral in my color tones but I will now, thanks for the chance to win this amazing gift

  49. Image for Juls Juls

I vote for the Turquoise, but I would add that cute little coral bird too it because it was too darned adorable.! Loved the moving pictures too! For a minute I thought my soda was spiked!

  50. Image for Jennifer Smith Jennifer Smith

All 3 are great. Coral is my favorite color to wear, but I like #3 with the driftwood bowl and the burlap.

  51. Image for Susan T Susan T

I loved the second picture. Turquoise is my new color to decorate with. :-) I love to shop at Kirklands!!!

  52. Image for Judy Judy

They were all inspirational and loved the colors. I would choose the neutral because I really like the antique chair.

  53. Image for Christina Christina

Love pieces of every single arrangement and of course love the pallet topped table and wood piece. But I think my favorite was the coral arrangement! The moving pictures were so fun to see how it all came together.

  54. Image for Rosalie Rosalie

Thank you Kerianne for the opportunity to cast a vote and enter the giveaway. I love to Coral and especially the wall piece!

  55. Image for Judy Bales Judy Bales

What wonderful ideas! I liked your layering of items, especially over the scroll wall hanging. All three were lovely, but I liked the coral one the best!

  56. Image for Becky Becky

I loved them all, but I have to say the coral gets my vote! I also love Kirklands. In fact my big rabbit I bought there last year is enjoying my porch this summer.

  57. Image for Joanne Joanne

I think the coral looks so fresh and you combined it with very interesting accessories. I'm not sure if I was most impressed with your design or the moving pictures!

  58. Image for jennybc jennybc

I like all three looks but I like the items in the coral the best. That surprises me...I am a neutral girl for the most part. Thanks for showing how you did this. That is my downfall.

  59. Image for Kristie Kristie

I had never heard of Kirklands but it turns out that they are opening one a mile from my house soon. I'm looking forward to checking it out. The turquoise design was my favorite.

  60. Image for Dotte Dotte

Usually I go for the anything turquoise, however, my favorite of the three was the coral! Loved everything shown... especially the metal piece leaning behind the coral vase. Is that from Kirkland's too????? Beautiful job on all three though.

  61. Image for Jeanne DeShazer Jeanne DeShazer

I love your bird's nest. I'm crazy over birds and have several. You've given me some great ideas. Thanks.

  62. Image for Theda Theda

Coral is my favorite. I'm into birds now and love the wooden pedestal with the nest and bird. The metal sphere is cool looking also. Thanks for the wonderful ideas and a great giveaway!

  63. Image for Sue B. Sue B.

Hi, something about the first one with the coral and the items you used caught my eye the most even though I did like all three because you have a great sense of styling. Have a good weekend!

  64. Image for Janis Janis

In my very old house with real paneling the coral would add just the right amount of fresh color to make a lovely statement. I know everyone that visited me would ask where I found all these perfect pieces!

  65. Image for Jane B Jane B

They're all fabulous, but I have to say - and I surprised myself in saying it - I love, love, love the neutral. I love the turquoise and coral, but they're trendy and won't be around forever. But neutral, ahhhhh - here to stay in my book ;)

  66. Image for Melanie Melanie

.I love the first one. The little bird scroll work and coral. Love them all! Love you too! Thanks Kirklands!

  67. Image for Jo Jo

They were all lovely. However, the coral tabletop was just stunning!!!! If I may also take a moment to thank you for such a wonderful blog. You make it look easy. You make it look fun. You make it just so, so, so delightful...!!!!!

  68. Image for Ange Ange

#3 is my absolute favorite as I love the way that you layered the scroll behind the burlap wreath and chalkboard sign. But then I also really like the turquoise elements in #2. And then, I like the touches of coral in #1 so #3 is my #1 choice, while #2 is my second choice and #1 is my #3 choice. Confused? Me, too. Good job styling that table.

  69. Image for Tonya Schoepf Tonya Schoepf

Wow, I'm surprised I usually go neutral with a little bit of turquoise / blue, but the coral really stood out and was very refreshing

  70. Image for Connie Connie

I 've been adding turquoise to my decor this year. I love Kirklands and have always been a fan of "shopping" my own items. Old things take on a new life in a different room.

  71. Image for Jill Jill

It was almost a tie between the coral and turquoise, but the turquoise won by a nose. And so will American Pharoh!

  72. Image for Debbie V. Debbie V.

I loved all three table decorations made possible by the beautiful Kirkland scrollwork piece on the wall. But I guess my fave is the last one....natural driftwood spheres, burlap wreath on scrollwork...it reminds me of your lovely home, KariAnne...your use of natural colors with "pops" of color here and there are my inspiration for my home. I'm not quite there but I'm working on it! Thank yu for your storytelling ability that I look forward to several times each week. Yu are such a lovely young woman with a beautiful spirit & yu lift my spirits to anticipate what's going on in your life...the sweet Yorkie pic and story was the best of the month!! Hope he's still doing well.

  73. Image for Toby Morris Toby Morris

I like the turquoise arrangement the best. I haven't been to Kirklands in a long time, so I need to go to see what new things are there. They have some pretty accessories and decorative items.

  74. Image for Cindy Jones Cindy Jones

The coral is definitely my favorite, then the turquoise. The neutral is a little dull in comparison although it has great texture. I'd love to win the Kirkland prize!

  75. Image for Mardi Mardi

It is a tough choice between the neutral and neutral with a pop of turquoise. Just enough color. I hate to say that the coral is a little too "beachy" for me. Before moving back home to New England, I spent 10+ years in Florida, and I am sooooo over the beach theme! LOVE the book page flowers!

  76. Image for Debbie Cody Debbie Cody

You made it so hard to choose... All the designs are Beautiful but I think I will go with the pop of color... Coral.

  77. Image for Finny Finny

Coral! Corals, pinks and golds - my favorites ! But I do love the turquoise box. Thank you Kirklands and Karianne. I love how u write your stories Karianne!

  78. Image for Michelle Mortensen Michelle Mortensen

LOVE LOVE LOVE the coral. I would use the neutral in my own home, but I would incorporate some of the ideas from the coral styling. I love the weathervane and the chair with the pillows in the coral version. Best, Michelle from simplysantabarbara.blogspot.com

  79. Image for Sue Farmer Sue Farmer

Love all three but LOVE the first one the best. The corals are so nice and birds in my home are a must!!!

  80. Image for Viviana Viviana

I love your blog! I love your designs! I love the iron scroll! And I love the coral design! Oh! And I love kirklands!! :)

  81. Image for Robin W. Robin W.

Toss up between the turquoise and the neutral... turquoise would probably win if I was pressed!! Love them all!!

  82. Image for Joy Joy

I love the coral one the best, such fun colors! I have a Kirklands just a block away from my house, and it's one of my favorite places to shop for home decor. This $100 would go a long way too, because they're prices are so afforable!

  83. Image for cindy ann cindy ann

I liked aspects of each of them but because I love color I chose the coral beauty! Something about the pillow drew me in...so old but new.

  84. Image for The Vintage Vixen The Vintage Vixen

All 3 are quite nice, but I like the turquoise best. The items you chose were in soft, easy shades which is my preference over bolder hues. But the neutral is a close second!!! Great job as always, Karianne!!!

  85. Image for Linda Southworth Linda Southworth

I am still hooked on turquoise so that table is the best for me! They all look wonderful...so like you!

  86. Image for Jessica Mireles Jessica Mireles

OMGosh At first I was sure that Coral was my favorite, but then there was turquoise and so much about that was my favorite, but in the end i really think Neutral is my favorite. I want that driftwood ball so bad!

  87. Image for Katherine Katherine

I like the turquoise table with its farmhouse touches. Three fresh, creative ways to style a table; thanks for the inspiration!

  88. Image for Julie Julie

I know I'm too late for the comp but I'm gonna comment anyway! I love how different these looks are - you are so talented! I love the coral although if I put a bird nest on a table is our house my kids (and husband!) would tease me about it for ever after! I think it's super cute but they just have so idea of style and good taste. Maybe I could sneak a sweet little china bird in somewhere though ... hum...

  89. Image for Suzy Suzy

I'm wondering where the white curlique thing came from in the coral styling came from? I would definitely buy that!!!! Anybody know?
