This post is brought to you by Yankee Candle.
I wish you could stop by for coffee this morning.
I have so much to tell you.
Truly.
I’d throw open the door and tell you how happy I was that you were there and you’d say my messy bun looked amazing and I’d tell you it had paint splatters in it.
And then we’d laugh like we had known each other forever.
Then I’d show you the perfect new nail polish color called Field Fox that I just found that’s not too bold, not too boring with a hint of lilac and a hint of khaki that kind of looks like spring and tell you that I started watching Gilmore Girls again from the beginning and we should pack our bags and move to Stars Hollow. And I’d show you this piece of molding that I just found by the side of the road that looks so full of promise and we’d head to the back porch where I’m in the middle of a fun project and when we walked through the rooms you would sniff…..
….and tell me the house smelled amazing.
And I’d smile and say, “I know….right?”
I wish you were here for coffee so you could smell what I am smelling at this very moment.
It’s making my heart happy.
There’s a hint of fruit layered in with a hint of floral layered in with pineapple layered in with the salty spray of the ocean.
#perfectsummercombination
If I close my eyes and take a deep breath, it’s like my yoga pants and paint spattered messy bun fade away and I’m sitting on a beach chair with the ocean in the distance looking totally amazing and super skinny and someone is bringing me drinks on a bamboo platter.
All of this yummy goodness is brought to you courtesy of Yankee Candle.
They asked me to partner with them for their new Margaritaville candle line.
I told them I would be honored.
And then I sat and thought about how I could convey the scent to you?
I wish this was smellavision, but I don’t think it’s a thing yet.
So I did the next best thing.
I created a visual for the candles.
A little island oasis on the back porch.
I discussed it with the candles and they told me if they could decorate the back porch, this is what it would look like.
Tropical and sassy and fun and full of all that’s good and right with summer.
There are four scents in the new Margaritaville line.
Lime & Sea Salt – A tropical lime cocktail waiting for that chilled glass with a collar of sea salt.
Pineapple Breeze – Juicy pineapple and tropical blooms pick up a hint of fresh vanilla on the warm island breeze.
Mother Ocean – A breezy scent full of island air and big surf with notes of blue lotus and lavender.
Jamaican Vacation – Ripe tropical fruits, fresh island blooms and a dash of sugar let you know it’s island time—breathe in, enjoy, relax.
All the scents come in pillar candles carved with a little bit of the islands, large square candles, small square candles, the cutest striped tin candles and tea lights.
I think this is my favorite combination.
A little Jamaican Vacation mixed with Pineapple Breeze.
I’m closing my eyes again and heading for the islands.
The screened-in porch has a head start on me….
….it’s time to get my summer on. 🙂

How fun! This 40 degree weather needs a reminder that it needs to leave!! Happy Friday, friend!
I would love to try Field Fox. What is the brand and where do we find it? Thanks.
Love the pillow - brand? Where to buy? Thanks!! The entire setting is so fresh and cheerful! Wish I could be there having coffee with you this morning!!
OH...and is it an indoor/outdoor pillow?
Oh the Ocean Breeze scent sounds wonderful. I can't wait to try it. I also really love the flamingo sunglasses. I met a rock star blogger this past Tuesday and I'm still walking on air. The KariAnne post went live today on the blog.
The colors are gorgeous. I can smell them from here. Your porch looks amazing. Kathy
Can't wait to try the new YC fragrances-- SO ready for warmer weather here in KY! Possible snow flurries this weekend? So Not Ready For That! The Field Fox nail color is truly beautiful! I could also see you trying the Thistle Thicket color ( seems appropriate) from the same color collection. Happy Weekend- Stay Warm!
It would be so fun to visit with you. But you had better be careful with those open invitations. I am afraid you would have a traffic jam on your road because I am sure I am not the only one to want a visit, Ms Popularity!
How pretty, Karianne...and I can almost smell those candles! Looking forward to checking them out!
Putting on my flip flops and headed out the door to get my scents on ...... come on summertime...
Well, it is VERY obvious that you have gotten the perfect picture taking process down.....so colorful and fun today. It truly will make me buy these candles.....and I wish I could stop by for a cup of coffee. But just so you know, I have my coffee here with me every morning when I check into Thistlewood Farms!!!
Hi Karianne! On my way, 'kay? You know everything about this is totally my jam! :-D Love that the farmhouse backporch is rocking a gorgeous island vibe. Ordering my candles today, and will say Karianne sent me. It's island time! Bwg ~~~
I googled the Field Fox color, and found a picture with Grapefuit Spakle over it. TOO CUTE!! Both were CND shellac.
Obviously I can't spell today... Grapefruit Sparkle
Cuz if we look super skinny we can have any number of high calorie beverages, right???? ;) Glad you are having thoughts and scents of summer (or a really good vacation). We are bracing for accumulating snow. Boo.
I love the bright and cheery vibe and I bet it does smell wonderful. I need that green carved pillar candle in my life. The funny thing is...I'll totally be sitting out looking at the ocean this weekend. If you came this way, we could totally "feel" skinny sitting on the beach drinking fruity drinks and smelling the salty air with paint in our hair. My bestie Sheila and I do that all the time. By the way, my other friend owns the cutest little B & B in town, The Blue Heron Inn, and you could totally stay there and live our island life for a bit. Have a great weekend! Nancy
I feel like I "totally" just became a Valley Girl. It must be the thought of summer. :)
Gray and rainy here (finally!) but with your powerful words, I got all the lovely scents of the tropics...mmm...Lime and Sea Salt...thanks.
See how the name of the scent is written on the side of the jar candles? It would be cute to write a personalized fun saying or inspirational message on the candle with a gold paint pen and give as gifts! Just saying....
Sniffffffffffffffff!!! Mmmmmmmmm!! Smells like the tropics! We love our candles. In fact we have one burning now. I'm not sure what the scent is but oh my your scents there are transporting me to a little grass hut and I can feel the nice warm breeze perfumed with wonderful scents -- the ocean, the flowers. I just took a sip of a pineappley, coconutty drink --dessert in a glass. Would you like one?? I'd be happy to whip one up for you :-) Have a wonderful day, rock star!!
On Island Time with you. Such a fun post. Glad I read it before running out... Added to my "to get list". Happy weekend.
I just started season two of The Gilmore Girls! (It would be embarrassing to tell you how many times I have been through the series! Yikes!) My goal in life is to be the master of snappy repartee like Lorelai! Oh, and I call dibs on decorating Old Man Twikem's house when we get to Star's Hollow! :) Have a great weekend! Terri
Hi KariAnne! Wow, everything is so tropical. Lovely styling and just looking at this makes me feel like I'm in a much warmer place. We may get snow flurries tomorrow. Can you believe that? My only consolation is that the new season of Outlander premiers tomorrow too-lol. Do you watch that show? It's quite different than Downton Abbey but still oh-so gooooood. Hope you have a lovely weekend. Lisa
How cool is that! OMG! I have to get one of those candles!!!! I'm just a little excited:D I have this vision...your on the beach...soaking up the sun...wearing a super cool pair of shades with bright RED lipstick of course! Make sure your playing some very cool tunes....preferably POKER FACE! Cause you know your playing it cool...but screaming inside from excitement:D And when your finished with the first drink, your cabana boys can pause from fanning you and fetch you another! P.S. You MUST have t-shirts made that say, "If found on the side of the road, return to Margaritaville...a.k.a Thistlewood farms!"
I have been reminding myself to watch the Gilmore Girls from the beginning again, so for a coffee visit I'd show up with my sleeping bag and settle in for a GG marathon! That pretty green pillar candle is going on my must have list. We had the A/C on this week because of such warm weather (sorry to those that are dealing with snow), but today is cool, dark, and drizzly so it's a perfect day for burning candles. I think it's only a matter of time until we have scratch and sniff computer screens, LOL!
My daughter and I toured Warner Bros. Studios this past fall. I had no idea who the Gilmore Girls where but it was filmed there. I binged watched all 7 seasons this winter. Best show ever!
I just got my shipment a couple days ago.. I love yankee candles.. I have one burning almost every day.. I got all the new scents and a bunch of the old. I have been buying them for well over 20 years. They are the best. So, I may not be there with you but I can smell what your smelling.. I have mine going right now while I make hard boiled eggs and some homemade bread. Breakfast tomorrow will be full of scent and yummy taste.. Have a great weekend. I am making a bench sofa, and planting more tomato plants.
"Smellavision" definitely. A picture worth a 1000 words - or a bouquet of smells! Inspiring description, colors and aroma. :)
I need to get outta Dodge, KA. This pushed me over the edge. Love Yankee - gotta go there soon. BTW- for anyone who doesn't know, many times I will go online before trapsing to our awesome YC retail store down the road and print a coupon - often it is $10 off. Makes the getting there n shoppin' even sweeter. One of my fav places for hostess gifts ever. I need to go sniff there soon to be sure. Thanks for the inspiration - gorgeous, too, I might add. : - ) And I agree: "Smellavision" is a classic. YOU are a classic. Messy bun and all! hugs! Have a great weekend. ♥
Ah summer... Colour, drinks, palm leaves And that smell. Smellalicious. Lime and seasalt looks right up my alley. You are just too clever, that's why I love your work!
Looks so inviting! It's still snowing here!!
They are predicting snow for tomorrow in Connecticut. I have plants on my dining room table waiting to be planted outside. I hope the warm/dry weather will come soon.
I love Yankee candle scents with Pineapple to start my summers! A long held tradition of mine. Love the name of the collection. They recently opened a Margaritaville Resort on a beach here in S. FL.
Always torn with my candle color matching my room. Yet the fragrances I want are never in the color I need. This sounds like a DIY problem. I think you could find the solution for me
Karianne you are truly amazing! You are the only person I know who can make Yankee candles sound so amazing! Your porch truly does look like an island oasis. And now I have to go out and buy one of those candles after the way you described them! Yankee candles was right on in partnering with you. You are my hero!
I may be wearing shorts but it is not a hot day here we are entering our cooler months
I'd like to attend a Gilmore Girls marathon at your house! Candlelit, of course.
