I’ve spent the last month decorating the outside of our home.
We’ve painted the front brick steps.
We’ve painted the concrete porch at the back of the house.
The flower beds have been redesigned. Every inch of the yard has been trimmed and mowed and weeded.
Every available space at our house has been trimmed and planted and designed and swept and cleared and cleaned.
And guess what I discovered.
I LOVE IT.
And now comes the fun part.
DECORATING.
This year I am all about budget decorating and finding things for almost nothing and today I want to share some of my favorite finds with you.
Here are 20 outdoor decor ideas under $50 (and let’s start with that doormat).
I’m all about a cute outdoor mat.
It’s one of the easiest and simplest ways to make your outdoors a little cuter.
You can see it at Walmart here.
I also loved this hello mat and this hello mat.
These are actually giant outdoor dice.
They measure about 11″ tall and they are only about $16.
You can see them at WalMart here.
This is such a fun garden stool.
It’s made of galvanized metal with a wood top.
You can move it from place to place around your porch. Use it for outdoor seating or place a plant on top or serve sweet tea on it.
You can see it here.
I also loved this version and this version.
This is a PICNIC basket.
Hello ballgames. Hello Fourth of July. Hello every place I’ve ever wanted to show up and have my picnic basket become the center of attention.
It’s insulated and has a folding handle.
You can see it at Walmart here.
I also like this picnic basket, too.
In Texas, we love our umbrellas.
And look how cute this one is with those scalloped edges.
And it TILTS.
You can see it here.
What is it about black and white stripes?
They have never let me down yet.
You can see this outdoor pillow here.
I also love this one and this set for under $50.
I love adding lanterns to outdoor decor.
They just remind me of summer.
I actually wrote an entire post with more affordable lanterns here.
You can find this lantern at Walmart for under $15 here.
I also like this taller version here.
I love outdoor rugs.
They warm up a porch and make it feel like home.
I thought this one was so different.
You can see it here.
I also like this one for a good neutral option, too. Here’s another one that looks almost like a sisal rug—except for outdoors.
This chair is such a bargain.
I love the woven back and the portability of it. It’s perfect for extra outdoor seating.
You can see it here.
This was such a unique idea for a garden stool.
It’s actually a combination of a bunch of different woods.
You can see it here.
I hope you liked this tour through budgetland.
It’s amazing what you can find to decorate with without spending a lot.
You just have to look.
(Or have me do it for you.) 🙂

Love it! Thanks for the bargain finds of great decor items!
Thanks, i will have to check this out, love that last garden stool.
I like that garden stool. So much better than the ceramic ones, I cannot look at those without cringing. I know two different people that stood on the ceramic ones and they broke...causing some serious leg and foot damage. I am sure they should have known better, but they do look so sturdy! Thanks for all the links!
Hey, Karianne, Love your finds! In our local Walmart stores, in the back corners of the garden departments, there are big bins of super cute $5 indoor/outdoor pillows. Two years ago, I plotted and planned, and when all the garden/deck furniture went on clearance, at Walmart I snapped up a metal table and chair set, complete with umbrella, for less than half the original price. (this summer that set is living at my adult son's new house and loves it there, lol.) So I am on the hunt again- don't forget thrift stores, I found like new matching metal lawn chairs for $10 total at my nearby salvation Army Store. This spring I found cute battery operated lanterns at the Family Dollar Store for $5 each! Amazing, Dollar General had a spring sale and I found planters for half price too. Hhmmm….sounds like I might have a little shopaholic thing going on. But it is so much fun, finding treasure and making my yard so pretty, I'm still waiting for enough sunny days to clean and paint my concrete patio, though.
I have to tell you, you hit the jackpot this time! I really, really appreciate seeing affordable items that can enhance my lifestyle. Thanks for all your hard work. Love you to pieces!!!!!
Hello, KariAnne = Inspiration!! As a result of reading your painted porch blog, I went out and purchased some porch paint from Sherwin-Williams. I have a small porch and just painted it a solid brown. I may do a stencil but haven’t decided yet. It made a world of difference and it looks so much better. I went with the brown color to match my deck stain and now everything looks so much more cohesive. Thank you Mrs. Inspiration 😊
I'm always up for bargain decorating items! I (finally) bought a new doormat this spring (on sale, of course) and it makes me ridiculously happy every time I look at it. Also, I love your black theme--it's so classic and you can make it look sophisticated or sassy or whatever just with a few accessories.
Hi, Karianne! That lantern is adorable!!! If I put one more thing on our new screened-in porch, my husband will probably kill me, though! Lol!! He is of the mindset that less is more, but I like to decorate my nest with pretty things to look at and comfortable blankets, pillows, pictures, etc. Truly, my home is my nest for me and my family, so I take the nesting seriously. Lol!!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE everything!!! Tried the link for the garden stool and it was broken...really want it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Loved all the items you found at Walmart. The one in Plymouth Meeting, PA. Has just been remodeled and it is gorgeous. It looks like a sophisticated department store. You just want to buy everything in the home decorating and garden section. My entire front porch basically came from the thrift store except the swing. I've gotten so many compliments. When I tell others where I got the items from they can't believe it. Keep sharing those great finds.
So glad you're being budget friendly - so you have enough $$$ for the POOL! Can you imagine decorating a poolhouse?! Also ... let's spraypaint those galvanized garden stools. Yes, according to my wise 25 year old, spraypaint if the zoloft for middle-aged women!
Ok, so now I wanna go on a picnic with that basket!! It's just adorable!!! xoxo
