The other day I went into Walmart to get some strawberries.

And somewhere along the way I got distracted.

Has that ever happened to you?

You are just stopping by the store for a moment. You’re going to buy ice or hand soap or paper towels or ham or mascara.

And then?

You find yourself in the middle of aisle 11 with a cart full of stuff…

….and left without even getting what you came for?

Please come sit by me.

That is my life.

I’m so easily distracted by the treasure hunt up and down the aisles (and don’t even get me started on the finds on the end caps) and before I know it my cart is full.

Like yesterday.

When I turned my shopping cart toward the strawberries and something caught my eye with a little pattern and summer sunshine and my heart did a double flip and a few cartwheels…

….when I discovered these.

Aren’t they beautimous?

That’s what the twins used to say when they were little and they thought something was the most beautiful thing in the world.

These blue and white plates come in a set of four and each plate has a completely different pattern.

And wait until you see the price. I couldn’t believe it. They look super similar a set of plates that I have wanted to order forever from a higher-end retailer that are so much more expensive.

You can see the plates here.

And then?

Just when I thought I couldn’t get any more distracted? Aisle 7 I’m looking at you?

I found the CUTEST smaller plates that were totally different patterns that layered perfectly with these larger plates.

Here’s the set of patterns with the smaller plates.

You can see the smaller plates here.

Look at the reverse little dots on the plates with the plus signs. And the other plates? See how they are X’s and O’s? Do you know how many times I have walked into a store wishing I could find blue and white plates with different patterns I could mix and match?

I so wish you could have been there—shopping with me in aisle 4.

I needed someone to share in the plate joy I experienced at that exact moment.

They are PERFECT for summer and when I mixed them and matched them?

They looked like this.

And this.

And now?

The dining room looks like this.

And the best part?

All these finds are SO AFFORDABLE.

I added these super cute white and natural fiber placemats.

And this set of gold silverware.

And these affordable white bowls rimmed with blue that match the plates perfectly.

The bowls have a rim around the bottom that allow them to stack perfectly in the cabinets.

Here’s the cutest set of sugar and creamer.

They are perfect for parties or for a coffee station or on a dessert tray when you have guests.

The sugar even comes with the cutest little spoon.

You can see them here.

One of my favorite finds?

This butter dish. It comes with a wooden top and keeps butter soft.

You can see it here.

I put together all the finds and a few more blue and white summer accessories for the table here:

I’m so happy I got distracted.

I’m so happy this set of blue and white cuties caught my eye.

I did find the strawberries and brought them home.

And the only thing better than finding amazing fresh fruit for summer?

Having the perfect dish to serve them in. 🙂

Where did you find your rug in your dinning room? I’m getting ready to order rug/curtains and re-do my mom’s family room and I think she would love it. I saw something similar on boutique rugs but cannot tell if it s exact. Thanks so much for the inspiration.

Here you go! You can find it tons of places---but I thnk it's cheapest on Amazon right now. Here's the link (affiliate): https://bit.ly/3JDWiYnIt also comes in different colorways---but this one is the richest looking (if that makes sense)?

Buy, buy, buy. I feel like bloggers are pushing wasteful consumption. I know it makes you money but at what expense to our planet? I bet you could have set a similar table with what you already have.

Nancy, She bought these for herself. She did not in any way push them to anyone. She showed us what makes her happy. This blog is just for fun and happiness. If it offends you, bothers you or makes you mad.... dont read it, delete it and PLEASE feel free to keep your unwanted thoughts to yourself. I for one, really enjoy reading this blog. ⚘

I’m older and don’t buy much for myself. However Karianne is my go to for gifts for friends and family. Her postings are spot on. She points out things that catch her eye and there’s knowledge behind those twinkle eyes. I really appreciate the help she gives me.

Love these sweet blue plates and how you mixed them!! Your table looks so, so pretty! And your strawberries look yummy! I am so with you. I go into Walmart and tell myself “Now remember…you are just getting that ONE thing!” And there I go getting pulled in another direction like I am in a magnetic field! And then I do the walk of shame AND EXCITEMENT to the checkout area. Lol. But what fun! I love your new finds!

Hi KariAnne, everything looks lovely in your dining room. I know several folks have asked about the rug, so isn’t this the multicolored rug pattern you put in your sister’s office a while ago? I remember how you redid her space and it looked great! It’s an awesome colorful rug.
