eat in kitchen table

Random thoughts on a Saturday morning:

1.  I have been binge watching episodes of Gilmore Girls on Netflix.  I can’t help it.  Just when one ends, Netflix loads another one for you without even asking.  I think to myself, just one more.  It’s kind of like brownies.

2.  I’ve given up diet coke this summer and replaced it with water.  My skin told me thank you.

3.  My kids have started playing Pokemon Go.  Apparently it’s a thing.  I asked them if a Pokemon was sitting next to me at the restaurant.

4.  In beauty news I found the best under eye concealer at WalMart.  It’s only $2.00 and it made me glow.

Or maybe that was the water. 🙂

And this studio space?

Great eyebrow tips.

This cake made me smile.

This entire tour is amazing.

Fun idea for shoe storage (so happy they are blogging again).

And I have a piece similar to this in the attic that I’m dusting off and stacking folded linens in.

And one more for the road.

….this one is a blue ribbon winner.

My husband was golfing with our grandson and he suddenly said "Papa there's a Pokemon on your shoulder". My husband was thinking it was a mosquito & brushed it off. Too funny!

I gave up Diet Coke this summer also! After a 3 can per day habit for 15 years I decided it was time to go cold turkey. So far, fruit infused water is working. Fingers crossed for both of us.

KariAnne, Congrats on trying to kick to Diet Soda habit. I've been struggling with pounds creeping on and trying to wean myself off all of the sugar snacking, and it turns out diet soda actually still makes us crave sweets. So I am trying some (haha yeah "some") of the skinny rules from Bob Harper, and I actually am finding that things I used to eat seem so sweet and rich now. I still have a little dark chocolate every day or so, but I am reteaching my 46 year old brain to not crave the sweets. And I think the start was giving up the diet soda, and switching off the super sweet creamer in my coffee.

    1. I gave up soda about 5 years ago. Best.thing.ever. 2. I was introduced to Pokemon Go by my 27 year old son. It's awesome! 3. Did you mention brownies? I'm sure I heard something about brownies. 4. Thank you so much for including my living room wall in your lovely post! :-) Enjoy the weekend, KariAnne!!

Oh, giving up diet cola is soooooooo hard, isn't it? My addiction was to Diet Coke...I finally kicked it about five years ago now and I feel soooo much better for it! I get my caffeine fix from a cup of tea now. I am certainly wishing you all the best in this fight, KariAnne...I know it's a tough one, but it is well worth the struggle! I am def checking out that Elf under-eye concealer! I also want that cute little Bingo tray on top of the pie-safe Ashley's family is using for shoe storage...too cute! And I may even try my hand at that homemade sponge taffy as it looks easy enough! As always, I've thoroughly enjoyed all of the amazing randomness this fine Saturday...thank you sooooo very much for bringing it all together for us, KariAnne! Wishing you and yours a most glorious weekend!

Dear Kari Anne, I am so happy to hear that you have stopped drinking diet sodas....I did many years ago, however I do drink regular ginger ale...try not to drink a lot of it tho...and I try to drink tea without sugar most of the time. The sad thing is that my younger Sister used to drink bottle after bottle of diet coke...and then as that filled her up, she ate very little. She called me one day and said that she had not been feeling well and had been to see her Doctor...had some tests and now needed to see an Oncologist. I did not know any of this until that day she called me! I went with her to take notes for her...She had pancreatic cancer.....He asked her what she ate and drank and she shared with him her love of diet coke. He looked hard at her and said.."If I could make all the diet products go away, I would!" He said that there were ingredients in them that are NOT healthy. I notice now if I taste something labeled "diet", I get a strange taste in my mouth. The end to this note is sad as I only had my Sister for five more months. She died the day, her Son got married....she tried so hard to live to be at the wedding...So, please try your best not to drink diet sodas.....Lots of Love and hugs to your blog...

Good for you giving up the Diet Coke. I am trying to cut down to just a few a week and drink more water too! Funny you shared the pumpkins at the end because earlier this week I bought a cream colored velvet one - just couldn't resist!

Oh my, I am currently on a Gilmore Girls bingewatch, too (which is not good for my weight, that show makes me hungry for Chinese food and pop tarts! I already drink a ton of coffee). For the second time this year!! I had never watched it, but when I was having to drive my husband to physical therapy after a massive heart attack (he survived a widow maker!), I began watching it on my phone. Which led to watching at home, which led to hubby and me spending much of our days watching! It was perfect while he was recuperating. My 11 year old started to get sucked in, I told her I'd happily watch again in the Fall so she can be caught up before the new ones come out!! I'm so silly excited for them!! My husband and 24 year old son are playing Pokemon Go. Now my other kids want phones, ha-ha! It's been a fun conversation starter with others in our town. I love the pumpkin and am off to check out all the links! Good luck with the diet coke!

I gave up Coke years ago and switch to Diet Coke then Coke Zero and yeah I know I shouldn't drink as much as I do but I don't drink tea or coffee or energy drinks and just don't like water that much so I stick with the Zero or Pepsi Max may not be that good for me but oh well

Have you changed your font or font size? I noticed the difference on my email notifications. Maybe I'm getting older and my eyes are bad, but it's harder to read or am I losing my mind??? Happy Saturday! Mary

Ahhhhh, I've been working my way through Gilmore Girls too - missed it the first time around, but how awesome to have this chance to watch it years later! Plus, I love that I get to watch an entire series on my own time, without having to wait a whole week to find out what will happen next! Happy weekend friend!

love these weekend posts full of inspiration! I don't care for pop, but I'll take the brownies...yummy! Wish I could go to the close in beautiful Asheville!

My son was strapping his cell phone to one blade of the ceiling fan and his portable charger to another blade today, when I asked him what he was doing he said he was playing Pokemon Go, I wondered if he was lazy or genius.
