Random thoughts on a brilliantly sunny Saturday morning:
1. I love this quote: “If friends were flowers I’d pick you.”
Yes.
Yes, I would. Every day and twice on Saturday.
2. It was an amazing week on the blog. I shared some of the CUTEST spring finds on the planet for under $25 and we discussed simple organizing tips to make our lives easier and celebrated a before and after bathroom remodel and I shared my new mirrored staircase with everyone.
3. I’m headed to a drill team revue this afternoon. Whitney spent all morning trying to watch make-up tutorials on how to apply stage make-up to get ready for the event. I’ve never seen so much contouring in my entire life.
4. I’m so excited to be working on a fun project next week where I’m sharing with you all video tours of some of the historic homes in my neighborhood.
5. I tried falsh eyelashes again this week. It was going okay until one of them fell off in the middle of a conversation with someone.
Good times.
6. Here’s what’s up for next week here at Thistlewood:
- Monday: DIY spring wreath with eucalyptus
- Wednesday: video home tours of historic homes
- Thursday: simple tip to organize your cabinets
- Friday: bedroom refresh and tips for painting a window
And now?
Here are some of my favorite things I found this week to inspire us.
Love this kitchen.
But love this idea to DIY your own chalkboard paint.
You can see the tutorial here.
If you are like me and need help in the laundry room organization department?
This is the post for you.
This spring home tour is so pretty.
Love the navy paint with pops of pink.
You can see the tour here.
You know that I love a love story.
Especially one that involves a gift from the heart.
Here’s one of the sweetest (along with some beautiful photographs, too).
And in random news this week:
This farmhouse tour
This cinnamon nut bread
No is a complete sentence
These classic blue kitchens
The most popular paint color the year you were born
Shelf styling with lots of books
So happy this AirBnb is open for business
How to decorate cookies with royal icing
And this.
Today I wanted to share with you one of my favorite designers on this planet.
You can read all about her and see her designs here.
And one more for the road
If you are planning your outdoor projects for spring, have you thought about painting your brick?
If so, I have the best tutorial for you here.
If you figure out how to put on those eyelashes and Keep them on, give a lesson. I really need it.
At least your eye lash didn't fall into your food or drink! LOL. We'd make quite the pair. Once I decided to cover my gray roots just before heading to Round Top with this "spray root touch up" stuff. As I was wandering around buying goodies galore, I wondered why everyone was looking at me so strangely. Black sweat was dripping down the sides of my face! Yep, I'm a head sweater. Too bad it wasn't around Halloween. I might not have been so creepy.
Ahhh...such pretty inspiration on a gloomy slushy snow-piled day here in the mountains of Wa State. Happy lazy Saturday, Julie M. ps Please pass the cake...the entire thing. Yum!!!
LOL! You're a kick! I love the description of the makeup adventures!! Have a fun weekend!
You make me laugh, teach me new things and always remind me to look at things in a positive light. Keep sharing and don’t let negative rude people who are broken bring you down. (This is in reference to your recent IG post.). There are many of us across the country appreciating everything you do and cheering for you.
Ha - I haven't tried false eyelashes yet but I experimented with darkening my eyebrows. I used regular eyeliner pencil just to see how it would look and forgot about it. Later that day, I somehow smeared one and looked like I had dirt on my forehead. Not a pretty look... Great list of links - enjoy your weekend! Shelley
Have never tried eyelash help-.sounds like it is difficult! Enjoyed the weekly wrap up as always! You find the best ideas to share!
Oh KariAnne, false eyelashes do fall off in the worst possible moments, don't they? I had one come off during a Facebook Live. It was so nice to have my viewer point out that it was coming off! Ah, someday we will master them!
Post is great, but the false eyelash story cracks me up 😂. I’m laughing with you all the way....a modern Lucille Ball moment 🥰
When i was in college some of my friends tried some fake eyelashes on me, i swear i couldn't see, except through slits . I told them to take those things off. My eyelashes are pretty long and thick anyway, that was a funny experience. As always Thistlekeeping was a great read , thanks so much for all your hard work.
Does she offer contouring lessons? Thanks for sharing, friend!
Love, love, LOVE the styling work of Heather Bullard!! Thanks for sharing!!! xoxo
