Can I start off this random Saturday post with an apology?

An apology from the absolute bottom of my heart.

The e-mail subscription for this blog is going a little wonky. 🙂

Some people aren’t getting their e-mails and some people are getting too many…..

….and I’m truly sorry.

I think it’s fixed.

Fingers crossed.

And now….grab a cup of coffee or tea or leftover Mountain Dew from the concession stand….

….and let’s be random together. 🙂

This week was makeover week on the blog.

I showed you my coral dresser makeover and you showed me what you had been working on.

I was really all about my dresser…..

…..until I saw this.

Shades of Blue….I lift my coffee cup to you.

Thanks for being absolutely amazing.

Once I left a table out in the rain.

I wanted it to get chippy and faded and weathered….

….and I thought mother nature might help.

Ummmm….not so much…..

…all it got was warped. 🙂

My table would have turned out so much better if I had just waited…..

…..on my incredible friend Courtney to give me some advice.

I thought I had almost finished at the gatehouse…..

….until I saw this.

The stripes?

The pattern on the end of that table?

The rug and that chandelier?

You can see the office before and after here.

If you always wanted a mudroom….but never thought you had the space…

here’s the post for you.

Jaime made simple changes to the space.

Simple….but absolutely beautiful.

The best kind of project.

Next week I will be at SNAP!

If you are going….I’m speaking on how to grow your brand through story-telling.

Be sure and find me so we can have coffee together.

If you’re not going….no worries….

….I’ve got some really fun projects for the blog and we can hang out here together!

Sending extra sunshine your way today.

Happy Easter to you my wonderful, incredible rock star.

He is risen.

He is risen indeed. 🙂

No worries about the multiple posts on my least I'm still getting them! Isn't funny how just when you think you are done...and then you see something that inspires you? Yeah for inspiration! Happy Easter my friend! ;)

I had gotten some double emails but wasn't worried about it! Like someone else said, at least I am getting them! love your blog, Karianne, and am always excited to see a post from you in my inbox. And that dresser with the branches and birds is just amazing. I might have to try something similar.

Just curious about two do you translate images that inspire you into your design ideas? What ever happened to the pink grandfather clock in the gatehouse? Did it not make the cut :-)

Miz karianne, good morning! And just between you, me and the got yesterday's post again well as this one...but it's no big deal as I know where the delete button is! Now, I have to tell you that I am so with you on that Shades of Blue dresser. OMG, I think I actually let out an audible gasp when I saw it. I LOVE it. Likewise with Country French's chippy Have a wonderful Easter weekend, karianne. And it's true. HE IS RISEN and coming back one day soon! What a glorious day THAT will be, for some of us! Blessings to you and your sweet family.

He is risen indeed! Thanks for the Saturday inspiration! I've had a cup of coffee and there's a Mountain Dew in the fridge. I have a day ahead of me and I've lined up my leftover paint samples. Now I just have to look for a sad piece of furniture that's waiting to be transformed. Have a great week at SNAP! I can't wait to hear about it and see what cute shoes you wore and which earrings amazed the audience. :-) Don't're a rock star!

He is risen indeed! Hallelujah! BTW, I hadn't been getting emails from you for a few days. I re-subscribed. I thought I had accidentally clicked the wrong button somewhere and unsubscribed.

I had a coffee table like your friend has. My mom painted it white for me and there were lots of drips, etc. then the puppy gnawed off some paint on the legs. I took it outside to sand it down to start over. Once I had sanded it down, I loved it more. It now has a place of honor in my living room.

Am I the only one who gets teary when I hear "He is risen, indeed!"? I love it that you link us to so many talented bloggers. The bird dresser is gorgeous and I'd love it, but, practically speaking, I NEED the mudroom ideas more. So many ideas, so little time ...

Nope, Kris. I am sitting here with tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat. He is risen indeed and Glory be to God for His Great Gift to the least of these.

Thank you KariAnne. It has been a busy week. I work as an aide in a special ed preschool.....which is the best job EVER! We were doing EASTER projects, coloring eggs, an EASTER egg hunt, making cute ladybug hats, letting loose our ladybugs into our flower and vegetable garden, (We had watched the ladybugs grow from the egg stage.) and jellybean sorting and graphing. Soooo, it was nice to sit down and enjoy my coffee and read your thistlekeeping today! You are a treasure and as always, you make me smile. HAPPY EASTER TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

Buona Pasqua! I don't mind getting two of your emails :-) This way I make sure I don't miss out on anything. Have a wonderful time at SNAP and when you get back I'd love to hear all about it. I sure bet that your conferences now are a heck of a lot different than the first one. I'm sure you're going to have an adventure or two.

How fun to be a rock star at snap! I need to go to that conference sometime. And I have to say, I love your thistle keeping posts. Today we are playing hide and seek with our new beagle/hound dog. This hound doesn't play catch or care for toys, but she loves to find my kids. It's totally hilarious. The Other Marian

You're forgiven...I was worried the emails were something terrible going on with the server or some such. I left a table out in the rain to donate...before it went on the truck it looked like something you'd use to sled down a hill, with all its warpiness....but not chippy delightedness. That coral dresser!!!!!!! Have a happy Saturday doll! :D

No problems on my end....glad mine did not stop! I am always anxious to know what is happening in thistle-ville! Have a wonderful weekend with your family. Sheila

Love your blog! I look forward to it every day. I'm still not receiving it through email though. Actually, there are several other blogs that I haven't been receiving. I was beginning to get concerned. Hopefully, it'll all work out soon.

  15. Image for Gwen Gwen

Hi. All my blogs stopped. Except yours. And two others. Well not MY as in I own them but there were maybe three I don't get anymore. I figure if someone stole me at UCLA. Everything about me has been stolen as I'm a patient there then demons surely want to steal from blogs that proclaim HE IS RISEN!!! He is risen indeed!!! Our God is so great to give this new well recent tool to use blogs to share decorating and also for you to share Jesus with readers. It's like you are a missionary. So cool!!! Spreading the love of Christ as you share paint and lipstick and projects. Praise God!!!!

Thank you Karianne truly the nicest feature write up, I feel blessed already and we still have a few hours to go! Please enjoy your Easter with family and friends. (I won't be at SNAP but I will be at Haven, hope to see you then.)

I'm having problems with all the blogs I subscribe to via email alerts. I'm thinking Feedburner isn't working, I'm only getting alerts from about five blogs and I use to get around 100 a day. I'm having to go back and re subscribe;-) some are coming up and saying I'm already a subscriber even though I'm not receiving updates. Very frustrating, I love reading all the great ideas and seeing all the inspiring pictures. Keep them coming.........

Like the post above me, Kathleen, I am not getting my normal blogs either. I kinda figured it must be my computer's fault, and deleted a bunch of old posts that I'd been saving, but it's still not happening. I miss my blog-reading sooooo much! Guess I'll go back and re-up to the ones that are missing in action. Vicki in Louisville KY

Thankfully I am receiving your blogs via email. But I am not receiving many others that I subscribe to. I am only getting about 5 now and I subscribe to many many more. At least now I know it is not just me. I have resubscribed to a few, but I cannot remember all that I subscribe to so cannot do this for all. I hope whatever is wrong gets fixed soon!

He is risen, indeed! And we are blessed beyond measure ~ I'm not receiving emails from blogs either. I've had so many technical problems lately so had no idea what caused it. Just received this one from you this morning ~ and so happy I did! The features are incredible ~ just don't know how some are so creative, just like you! :) Have a very Happy Easter! xo Pat

  21. Image for Regina Merrick Regina Merrick

Happy Easter to you, my friend!! He IS risen! :)) Absolutely love that depressed . . . But I SO wanted the design to NOT be free-hand! You've heard of "Cool Hand Luke?" Well, "Free-Hand Gina" is NOT my handle . . . Lol! Enjoy the sun, celebrate our Risen Lord, and just listen to those happy birds, will you!?!

One can never receive too many emails from Thistlewood. Unfortunately, my new job interferes with my ability to read them in a timely fashion. Hugs from the Midwest, Tami
