Random thoughts on a Saturday morning.
1. Have you ever painted ladybugs and stripes to your toes? What if you were going to the beach? Too much?
2. It’s a gloomy day here. I think I’m binge watching the new Anne of Green Gables. Has anyone else seen it?
3. I found the cutest earrings at Cracker Barrel. I know? Apparently, accessories with your pancakes is a thing.
4. I have the cutest project I’m working on this summer that involves traveling the country and photographing houses. I can’t wait to tell you more about it.
5. I just found a new program for my computer that’s FREE and life changing. Like the kind of life changing that makes you happy to be alive. It’s called Grammarly and it just told me that I spelled apparently wrong and added a comma all at the same time. If you don’t speak grammar or you’re like me and didn’t pay attention in second grade when they rolled out the punctuation….
….this is the solution for you. 🙂
This flower arrangement is perfection.

Come see me on your summer tour. You can even take pictures. Wink!♥ Ladybugs on toenails sound like fun to me.
Thank you for always sharing lovely inspiration, KariAnne...it's like a visit over a cup of coffee! Happy Saturday!
Let's see the new earrings KariAnne. I think Cracker Barrel is such a fun place. Those biscuits and the chicken!!!! The the gift shop. You're such a sweetie with your lipstick I'm sure the earrings look stunning. I love your Saturday posts.
The perfect Saturday entertainment - Thistlekeeping!! So much to look at and read about in one space - spectacular!! I wonder if your Cracker Barrel in the south is different than mine here here in the north? It is a favorite in my family ( we even went there for Thanksgiving years ago when my oven's electric igniter died before the turkey was cooked.) The gift shop is the bonus! Excuse me now, I must continue perusing this edition of Thistlekeeping. Thank-you!
I tried the new Anne with an E series but it is yucky. Not true to the books. The director tried to make it gritty, I stopped watching when she was being beaten in the first episode. Love your blog...thanks for bringing us beauty!! <3
The original Anne is better. I didn't try to watch the new when I saw some of the actors.
Thistlekeeping is like a mini-vacation to me. And since I think my sump pump died today, I could use a little R&R. :) I LOVE your blue chair with flowers sprinkled on. What a pretty color combo. If you are talking about the newest PBS Anne of GG series ... I checked out the trailers to it and ... I just can't. I am seriously in love with the Kevin Sullivan version and nothing else can come close to it for me. My daughter and I watched the sequel a couple of weeks ago during a mommy/daughter bonding time. Sigh. Jonathon Crombie as Gilbert is swoonworthy (yes, I know that the actor died a couple of years ago--so sad). This is a good article about my favorite version: https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2017/05/anne-of-green-gables-megan-follows-1980s-feminist-shaped-generation
Well, I've been using Grammarly for a while and although I do love it -- we've had our disagreements. He's VERY opinionated. I like my dots and exclamation points and apparently, Grammarly takes exception to this free form of expression. What a prude!!!! Right now there is a little red circle going round and around as I type. He doesn't like how I do my commas or lack thereof. Well, it's just like having an eccentric aunt. You love and humor them. But don't tell him I told you -- but I wouldn't want to do without him. :-) Hugs!!
I have been watching Anne with an E, I'm only on the third episode to be fair. No, it isn't true to the book. Meagan Follows will always be Anne in my book, but so far it's not bad. It is a bit darker and you have to pretty much try to watch it and not compare...so hard I know...believe me. But I will say I am enjoying it.
I watched Anne with an E. This isn't exactly the story we all know and love and I'm ok with that. I've read those stories, watched it done wonderfully. This series is darker and different, for sure, but I appreciated the interpretation based on a story and character I adore. The scenery is glorious and the Cuthbert's farmhouse is perfection. I'd watch for that alone. I'm with Christy, not comparing, just enjoying.
It wouldn't be a Saturday for me without a stop by your place. Just love your Thistlekeeping posts! Thank you!
Oo, a summer photo tour. Sounds fun. Come see me at the farm! How fun would that be? Lady bug toenails? Why not! Loved browsing through all the links...my favorite was the art of enough. Thanks for sharing! Hugs, Cecilia
Thanks for the grammarly tip! I have to admit that I LOVE commas and I overuse them. Maybe this will help. Sounds better than a grammar textbook at this point! :)
My husband and I eat breakfast at Cracker Barrel every weekend. At first I was a little embarrassed to say I bought something from there, but now I proudly say I've found some of my favorite things there. I look forward to finding new little treasures there each week.
I love Cracker Barrel jewelry also. I found a great bracelet there and it has become one of my favorites. Your summer project sounds great. If you are in my neck of the woods in Southwestern Virginia stop by for coffee. Pam @ Busylifestylegal.com
KariAnne I discovered Grammarly a while back and it has been a lifesaver. Sometimes when you're typing your mind goes faster than your fingers and you get all fumbly-like. And that is when Grammarly saves the day! Looking forward to lots of pretty pictures over the summer!
Come visit and look at the Colorado sunsets! laura
Excited to hear about your new adventure! And, I have found galvanized cupcake holders, spoon holders and candle holders at Cracker Barrel, too! So, yeah, I get it.
