I love red lipstick.

And really big beautiful sparkling glittering irresistible earrings.

The kind that give you confidence.

Maybe that’s why I love window treatments……they are like jewelry for the house.

These drop cloth curtains are classic and affordable and simple……

……just like the perfect pair of silver hoops.

Silver hoops……you know….those earrings that can go anywhere.

I’ve worn them to a baseball game where I missed this absolute moment of brilliance.

I’ve worn them across Kentucky on the 100-mile-yard sale trek and out on date  day with the cutest carpenter on the planet.

Yep.

Those silver hoops.

Like a simple, classic curtain.

Today I’m posting about window decor over at the Lamps Plus blog.

And I was going for the silver hoop approach…..

…..but somehow a bunch of big, unusual, unique window treatments showed up instead.

Go figure. 🙂

PS  Here are four unique window treatment ideas.  You can thank the confidence earrings. 🙂

Great ideas KariAnne! I love using something architectural to fill in a window ... super pretty. I hadn't thought about visiting my linen closet ... hmmm those red and aqua toile tablecloths would really brighten a teenagers bedroom! Thanks for sharing and have a great week!!

I just left a comment on your Lamps Plus blog post also, but wanted to come back here to say thank you! I thoroughly enjoy reading your fun blog - and as a lover of the silver hoop earrings - feel a bit of a bling connection! Have a wonderful day!

Those are great ideas, Karianne. Love the window over the window....so original! ! Got a question for you...if those window ideas are equal to "hoops"....then what are "studs" equal to?? I only wear studs, is that why my window coverings are boring? ;)

I have gold hoops that are my go-to pair of earrings, so I totally understand. :) Today, I couldn't find daughter #2's black and silver dangly ones, so I'm without earrings. We've GOT to start coordinating our earring-wearing! ;) You do realize that CURTAINS are the reason I wanted a sewing machine for Christmas? And now I have even MORE good ideas! Thank you!

I am a major hoop wearer too-- even to work out! I wanted to send you a belated congrats on magazine article. You have SUCH a lovely home and should be so proud. I really enjoy reading your blog. As for the drop cloth curtains, it's kind of ironic that you mention them because I have a long, 15" tall remnant strip from some I used as a shower curtain and I was thinking about using them as a simple valance in my living room. I am considering this article a sign from the decor gods!

You've got style, girlfriend!! I love living in a home that doesn't need any coverings so I can see nature all the time, but I know I like the detail of something up on the windows, at least to the side. XOXO

I wear read lipstick almost every day, and silver hoops. They get me through everything. I love what you have done with the drop cloths around your home too. Classic and timeless is a good way to go. Your home will always be gorgeous, and so will those silver hoops!

After looking at your window treatments and crown molding, I conclude I am in *serious* trouble here in Tennessee. My windows have vertical blinds. What? No, no, that's it, just the blinds. Well, there are the gaps where the cold air was coming in, because the installer did a terrible job, and I sealed them with postal tape. That's not really decorative, though, is it? So, you think I'm in trouble?
