Looking for easy and creative Christmas tree decorating ideas? Here are nine–including a ship lap tree and pinecone ornaments.

Once upon a time there was a girl who lived in a farmhouse in Kentucky who loved a tree.

This tree.

This wonderful, handmade ornament, decorated with all my littles, glowing, happy and sparkling Christmas tree.

And then one day, the girl and the tree left Kentucky and moved back to Texas.

The handmade ornaments and the tree came with them in giant tubs. It was unpacked and decorated and festooned with handmade ornaments.

Same tree. Same ornaments. New house.

And now?

The tree looks like this.

Fun ideas. I keep looking at those Scandinavian-style brown paper stars (like in your 4th photograph) and thinking I might try them. Wouldn't mini-versions be fun on a tree?

How did you know I was in the market for a new Christmas tree?? We have 8-foot ceilings now, so guess what? The 9-foot tree (that I've been wanting to replace FOREVER) doesn't fit!! Thanks for the tips!
