I just ran the numbers and looked up the top posts of 2015.

And it’s official.

You like paint.

Four of the top posts were about paint, paint and more paint.  Who knew?  And that made me think.  Should I post more paint posts in 2016?  Are there things about paint you wish you knew and wanted to ask someone who wears lipstick and new fancy bobby pins she got for Christmas?

And can I follow up that query with another question?

Are there any other decorating posts you’d like to see in the new year?

Because I have 10 purple finger nails that would love to write them.

In the meantime I’ll be photographing the handmade gifts from Christmas and posting the top ten posts from this year.

And here the are counting down from 1 – 10.

Hope you enjoy. 🙂

That was me. Yep. I visited your blog about paint colors at least 7,352 times before REPAINTING my bedroom and den/hall/kitchen. And guess what? Alabaster it was. As it turns out, Alabaster is 2016 color of the year for Sherwin Williams. I suspect you knew that already! And Accessible Beige it was for my bedroom. Both are beautiful. I love your wood projects and have made several for my home. Well, I guess I just love about anything you post and your precious sense of humor always makes my day! Thank you for sharing a wealth of inspiration. Happy 2016 to you and yours!

Hi Karianne, I love the paint posts and anything to do with wood (no name pun intended). I think my all-time favorite posts include anything that includes a glimpse of your gorgeous kitchen. Looking forward to seeing all you have in store for 2016. Take care and have a happy new year!

I love all your posts and your sense of humor. I'm so glad I found your blog. You make each day brighter for me. I'm looking for a light cool grey for my bathroom which has white trim, white tub, white vanity. You used Gris SW 7659. It appears to be a light cool grey. Is it? Hugs and kisses from Oklahoma!

I can remember when I first started reading blogs and started branching out from the three blogs I read daily. I saw your post about the discarded hutch you and hubby re did...the one now above the pallet top desk. I was intrigued and vowed to find a hutch of my own. Much later, I did find one....had to drive quite a distance across town to a woman getting rid of her waterbed. The hutch was the headboard for her large (queen or king) waterbed! I painted it white, and it presently sits atop a table in my craft room. Yours is much prettier and a much better size than mine, but I still do like mine and hope to have it more prominently displayed in a future home. Thanks for the inspiration!

I can most definitely understand why your house tour would be the top post of 2015...everything about your beautiful home is sheer perfection! I can also understand why your paint posts are so popular...when you take your home tour and see how each of your room sparkles, who wouldn't want a little bit of that magic for themselves? If you can get some of that from a can of paint, why not? :) It's been an amazing year for you, KariAnne...a lot of amazing things have happened to you...I've sooooooo enjoyed getting to share in your joy and I am hoping for abundant joy for you in 2016, as well! Also can't wait to read your post and see the pix of the homemade Christmas gifts your family exchanged this year...these are some of my personal fave Thistlewood Farm posts! Please know I am wishing beautiful you and your beautiful family a most beautiful and blissful New Year...may it be filled with much laughter, light, and love as you savour each precious moment with those you hold most dear! And wishing you much peace and prosperity the entire year through!

Your creativity and ingenuity are not listed. Your faith and sense of humor weren't listed either. Your home and your great taste was #1, I'll go along with that because the above weren't choices. Thanks for your continued inspiration.

I love every one!! But, of course your home tour trumps them all! Isn't it interesting that there are so many popular posts from 2013? I guess that's a Pinterest thing... with all that beauty pinned on every board in America and beyond. ;) Congrats on a great 2015 KA... and best wishes for a blessed 2016! XO

I must disagree with the number one spot. It must take a backseat to your beautiful face with smiling red lips. And shiny toenails of the color of the week, and warm, warm heart. It's what we all signed up for and log on for every day.

Ha, paint, I do understand. I made the mistake of teaching craft painting classes in the 80-90's with a flexible first project that would teach multiple skills over a 3 week period. Mistake---asking students to pick 4 coordinating colors for your project, one light, two medum and one dark. OMG...you thought I had asked for firstborn children---their angst was terrible. After that---I had to offer classes with paint included or a list of specific paint colors...even listing with the option of picking from three was enough to send most into a catatonic state. Perhaps it goes back to 'ruining' your paint box colors by mixing---or only having 64 colors in the crayon box....who knows...but paint/phobia is a real disease. Grins, loved your post, thought I would give you a laugh! Sandi
