Thistlekeeping on a Monday.
I know…right?
Sometimes life hands you a Monday and you just have to live on the edge.
Random thoughts on a cold Monday morning in the beautiful state of Kentucky.
1. I missed Saturday Thistlekeeping because I was up at dark thirty helping with an all-day charity golf tournament. It was so worth it because we reached our fundraising goal.
2. I don’t want to give it away in case you haven’t watched Poldark yet, but I’m just going to put it on the table. I knew it.
3. I had the cutest idea for pumpkin cupcakes. I bought a mini bundt pan and I was going to put two mini bundts together to make a pumpkin. It didn’t work out. The icing covered crumbs are still sitting on the counter.
4. I’m working in the dining room today on a project idea that popped into my head in the middle of Poldark.
Fingers crossed it works out better than the cupcakes. 🙂
In the super cute fall porch idea department, how cute are these cabbages in baskets.
Love the neutrals on this porch.
You can take the rest of the tour here.
To make up for my lack of pumpkin cupcake posting, I discovered these instead.
Pumpkin Mini-Cheesecake Tarts.
Recipe found here.
Clever ideas for the Thanksgiving table.
10 of them to be exact.
You can see all the ideas here.
I just found a chair similar to this at an auction for less than lunch at a fast food restaurant.
I’m using this makeover as inspiration.
You can see the entire DIY here.

Happy random Monday to you. 🙂
Oh I needed Thistlekeeping on a Monday! Perfect! I spent the weekend running the kids around and finishing all my blog posts for the week. I'm feeling oh so organized today but that meant I couldn't do my usual blog hopping to see what wonderful things others have been doing. This gives me the perfect excuse to grab a cup of coffee and enjoy a Monday. Thanks! Nancy
Poldark: I hate that this happened!! I saw it coming early in the episode, but am so sad. Things were looking good, so I shouldn't be surprised. ?
Perfect and that cheesecake oh it could be breakfast today as I'm off to a very slow start. It look amazing! Have a great week and I'm off to have a super great Monday!
Thistlekeeping on a Monday works ! I've got Poldark dvr'd...I've got 3 episodes recorded...guess I better get on it! Enjoy your Monday! ;)
I missed Thistlekeeping so much, but it makes Monday morning better! I have to admit to having a busy Family weekend anyway, made not having my weekend Thistlekeeping tolerable. Many, many years ago when making cakes was my thing I had a two piece cake pan to make pumpkin cakes. They looked much like bundt pans and it wasn't easy to frost those either. That was long before my youngest daughter became a pastry chef! I leave the cakes to the expert these days, much easier. Thank-you for this post filled with great ideas, you never disappoint!!
Really!!! How did I miss the clip board place setting... love it... using this year. Fun, original and quirky!!! Ideas running through my head. Gotta go catch some! Brilliant, fabulous and so fun. Thanks sooo much for the inspiration. ???
Poldark, sigh. ?
Loved all the Thistlekeeping Monday inspirations, even the failed cupcake pumpkins! How about piping a little green frosting on the plate for one teeny bunt pan cupcake to sit on so it looks like the rest of it is hiding in the pumpkin patch...or something like that...? We missed you but yay for the fund raiser!! P.S. I post this cautiously but I had google what a 'Poldark' was lol.
OK so I'm mad at Poldark! I was beginning to love the new and improved Francis & (spoiler alert!) if what I saw online is true, it only get's worse!!! Elizabeth is sooooo gorgeous,,,, poor precious Demelza! Sorry, but you got me off on a Poldark tangent! Hugs!
HuH? What's a poldark? (beautiful photos and inspiration)
Happy Monday - sorry...I didn't know about Poldark...but now I need to find out...I do love the ceramic white bunny plate on your opening photo...just lovely. :)
I was gone over the weekend, so a Monday Thistlekeeping is perfect for me. And I know that you are trying to work your posts around my schedule. ;) LOVE the closet door ideas and I love "dark thirty"--I may be stealing your phrase for my own use.
What a great way to start the week!!!
thank goodness someone is talking about Polkdark, it was SO upsetting!!!! So many cute Fall ideas. Now if only Houston would stop reaching the 80's during the day so I can have fall too, lol.
I am glad I came for a visit this morning I did like this post as I like all your posts.
Ok, a friend and fellow blogger got a bunch of us hooked on Poldark! I don't have cable tv so I have to wait till I can stream it! Ugh! I think I may have to pay for some new episodes now that I read your post! Your blog is my fave! Thanks so much for all that you do!
We saw the CBS story and sobbed like babies.....just too sweet...
Hey girlfriend! I'm reading 'Thistlekeeping on a Monday' - on a Monday NIGHT! Glad I did, if only to get some commiseration on the Poldark episode!! Aggghhh! I knew he had made too radical a change for it to last, one way or the other!! BTW, my hubs and I now want to make a trip to Cornwall SO BADLY!
Have you seen the Doc Martin episodes? They helped create my desire to visit Cornwall?
Better late then never. You are a sweetheart! Where the heck do you get your energy? Off to visit some these links! :) Jane
Monday is over now; It's my day to recover from the weekend! However, I had to get up and go get a flu shot, visit the library to get books and then redo a little project for my master bath. Hubby's away on a golf trip so I created a simple pasta and salad...then made decadent no bake chocolate peanut butter oatmeal cookies...I'm into balanced diets! Haha I only ate four ....I'm ending the day with Thistlekeeping! Love it!! And on a side note, I saw tragedy coming-Poldark will do the right thing....ooooh, I loathe that George!! Here's to a new day!
So I read your Poldark comment while waiting between coats of paint on the guest room trim. I had to force myself to finish my painting before viewing Poldark. Oh dear, I was once again brought to tears by this show. In addition to "dark thirty", we use the term "quarter to dawn" to describe the time that the phone rings with substitute teacher assignments. I enjoyed all your wonderful Thistlekeeping ideas. Thanks, Karianne!
Beautiful things and comments on Poldark -a great combination! I had to subscribe!
Watching the story about Heather Krueger and Chris Dempsey made my heart a puddle...thank you for thinking to share this, KariAnne...it helps me to see that the world can still be a beautiful place! I want to try some of those door makeovers to liven up the boring ones I have! And, jumpin' jiminy, those pumpkin cheesecake tarts need to be mine...ALL MINE! I'll also take those icing covered crumbs, if you don't mind...hehe!
Where can I get the white bunny plate? It's darling.
