Random thoughts on a Christmas decorating Monday in November:
1. I almost skipped Thistlekeeping this week, but I missed it too much. Do you know how much fun I have putting this post together?
2. And Y’ALLL!!! In super, super, super exciting news, I’ve been given a code (THISTLEWOOD30) for early access to the BIGGEST SALE OF THE YEAR over at Colleen Rothschild Beauty. I’ve shared a zillion times how much me, myself (and the wrinkles on my neck) adore the entire Colleen Rothschild skincare line. I’ve been using it for over a year now and it’s kind of changed my life—and for the next couple of days, IT’S 30% OFF—but you have to use my code to get the discount.
You can see my entire routine here (Extreme Recovery Cream I’m looking at you) here.
There’s even the SWEETEST limited edition 12-Day Beauty Advent Calendar that would make the perfect gift for someone special or even yourself. Make sure to use my code THISTLEWOOD30 to get the 30% off.
3. Have you seen the new hotel down in Waco that Chip and Joanna completely remodeled? There’s a new show about it called Fixer Upper: The Hotel Show.
The hotel is called 1928 Hotel and we just booked a stay there.
I can’t wait to tell you all about it.
4. It was an amazing week on the blog. We celebrated “12 Days of Getting Ready For Christmas” including:
- how to make a Christmas bow
- 5 of the best food gifts
- the best tip for hanging garland and wreaths
- how to keep Christmas simple
5. It’s Christmas movie-watching time. Drop your favorites in the comments. We love “Window Wonderland” and “It’s a Wonderful Life” and actually with Christmas in the title. 🙂
And now?
Let’s see all the inspiration I found for us this week (trust me—it’s a good one).
This is the loveliest post.
It’s full of simple, easy ways to celebrate the holidays in the kitchen.
You can see all the ideas here.
And have you ever seen an ornament that’s more for me?
These DIY milk glass hobnail ornaments.
You can see the entire how-to here.
Sometimes a DIY doesn’t work out like you think it’s going to.
Life is all about celebrating the journey.

Thanksgiving dinner is just around the corner.
We’ve already ordered the turkey and I was looking for easy tips for the dinner.
These ideas are the BEST.
And in random news this week:

It’s a blush and gold Christmas tree with a reindeer on top (I wish I would have thought of that)
And one more for the road
I’m sharing my Christmas tour this week, but in the meantime?

I’ll keep it to the products—but let me know if you have any questions about specific things because it’s the perfect time to stock up.

You just have the touch!!!
Thanks friend! You made my day!
Could you post the link to your skin care routine? The link above goes to Colleen Rothschild. I'd like to read about what products you use and for what issues....Thanks.
I'm getting this question everywhere! I updated the end of the post with the routine I've been using for over a year! Happy day! KariAnne
The link to the best 5 food gifts is going elsewhere. Thanks, as always, for such fantastic inspiration!
I fixed it! Thanks so much for letting me know!

Always enjoy the Thistlekeeping post as there is without fail something I can relate to. I did thoroughly read the How to Dry Limes link and it actually is an accounting of Miss Mustard Seed’s failed attempt to dry limes. Got a chuckle that she was so real about not every project turning out successfully. So, not exactly a DIY…didn’t know if you should let your readers know.
LOL! I just saw the wreath and the dried limes! I fixed it---but the story is truly amazing!
Yayyy this is how I want to start a Monday! I missed Thistlekeeping this weekend! Have a great week!!

OMG So much information to take in. How does your mind keep from exploding. I have to get another cup of coffee and sit a spell. I guess the floors are not getting vacuumed today. 😉
You always make it such a fun read, thanks. I did look for it Fri.-Sat. and was not happy but know how busy you have been so thanks for thinking of us.

I don't think I can ever go back to tinsel on trees--it's funny to think that it's coming back in style. I remember putting it carefully away to use from year to year. Nope. Not for me. 😉 I love the advent wreath from Courtney's site! Super cute!
Love it all! Wow you were busy! Thanks! Great movie got to watch Hallmarks Haul out the Holly it was very good.
