Random thoughts on a sunny Saturday:
1. Does any one have a good breakfast cereal option? Like one with raisins and almonds and crunch? I’m running out of options.
2. Someone told me that the new season of Poldark starts tomorrow on Masterpiece. I cannot confirm. Has anyone seen any information about it?
3. I’ve been working on a plate wall and I am totally going asymmetrical. I’m not sure about it. I’ll keep you posted.
4. I’ve started working on the book and I’m drinking lots of tea and hoping it goes well and I’ve set up my writing station at the Gatehouse and taking this writer’s words to heart.
Fingers crossed. 🙂
Jen from Noting Grace, one of the Sweet Tea Ambassadors, created the easiest and cutest ideas for summer.
It’s a bowl cover and she has the CUTEST apron project, too.
DIY’s for both project found here.
And now you can purchase the entire fabric line on Houzz.
Here’s another Sweet Tea Ambassador project from my friend Jill at Sew A Fine Seam.
Love a state pillow and she has the sweetest (no pun intended) purse project.
You can find the Sweet Tea fabric now on Houzz.

Happy random Saturday to you.
I just brought fresh flowers in from the garden and it's my bit of heaven to brighten and freshen up the home. For breakfast here's a little something I enjoy. A bowl of cheerios with fresh farm honey swirled on top, add a sliced banana, some slivered almonds and top it all of with milk. It's a great energy boost and good for the immune system too. Have a great weekend and thanks for those fabric swatches!
Sweetie, if you write your book as well as you write your posts, you will be a big success! Stephen King's writing thoughts are a standard go-to. Great advice to follow! Thanks for all the links! Always love Karianne's thoughts kissed with red lipstick! Have a great Saturday! :D
Forgot to add: hubs swears by Kroger's Muesli! :D
Poldark? Swoon!! I hadn't heard that but I'll be on the lookout. Enjoy your weekend!
I always enjoy your Saturday round up of awesome posts. Thanks for taking the time to share! Now to answer your questions, for cereal I like Special K Vanilla with Almonds. VERY CRUNCHY! You could throw your own raisins in if want. I can not confirm Poldark either. BOO! I don't see it on our cable listings. When I google for a date all I get is that it is to start in the Autumn of 2016. No set date...bummer.
Thanks for sharing sweet friend - love those projects with the fabric!
I really enjoy your blog! Lots of great ideas. And, I'm glad that you are working on your book. I also enjoyed the Stephen King article/interview you shared. Just the inspiration I needed to go back and work on my own WIP. Have a great weekend. www.dianeweidenbenner.com
Seriously, this is the best breakfast cereal you will ever eat. Click on "show more" under the video to seethe full recipe and instructions. Enjoy! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A3vbc9vkedA
Karianne I eat yogurt, sliced almonds, blue or strawberries, cinnamon , and opt sprinkle of dry cereal of your choice.Sherry
I love 'Basic 4 ' cereal. It has almonds, craisens and 4 grains. I usually cut up a banana and add that also. LOVE the blog!!
Thank you for the heads up on Houzz - I'm checking into it. For breakfast?? I just saw a fantastic idea that you prepare the night before all in a mason jar. It involves oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit and nuts. I'll look around -- I pin and I ooh and aah through magazines and then I lose what I found :-( But I know I was a hound dog in my previous life. I'll find it and get it to you -- it involved chocolate too, I think. And Stephen King -- absolutely great advice! Have a great weekend and stay cool -- your book is going to be fantastic!!! https://www.pinterest.com/pin/532972937134350748/ This is one of them but I've got several other ideas.
Ummm...I'm not sure you're going to like my breakfast of choice...it's called Bulletproof Coffee. It's the keto dieter's breakfast of champions lol. Before I tell you what's in it, I have to tell you it tastes like a good latte and really does keep me full until lunch. It's one cup of coffee with one tablespoon of non-GMO grass-fed butter, and one tablespoon of coconut oil mixed in a blender. If you don't mix it in a blender (just stir it), it looks like a Gulf oil slick and doesn't taste very good. NOTE: If you're not on a keto diet which is high fat (good fats only!), low carb and moderate protein, it will ADD weight, not subtract it. And non of us want to go there! On another subject, love that you have a room dedicated to writing! I wish you all the best but I know you're going to do great!! My husband used to say, "Luck is in preparation that meets with opportunity." Not original to him but it's good advice! You're well prepared, Karianne, with a natural talent for writing and inspiring your readers, and now you have the opportunity to really let those talents shine. Can't wait to read it!
Oh, wait! It just occurred to me I can probably come up with a recipe for almond flour waffles!! I share after some experimentation in the kitchen...
I googled "Poldark" and anything I read says it will be fall before season 2 starts. It's not showing up for tomorrow on my local TV listings.
No raisins, no almonds but plenty of crunch? Cap'n Crunch. Just watch out for the roof of your mouth :)
1. Great Grains, love the one with pistachios! 2. In my area (Chicagoland) Poldark is coming back in the fall. Swoon;-) 3. My mom always had a plate wall, very eclectic. 4. If you write it I'll read it!! Love you writing style, so easy breezy to read, great content. It's really HOT here. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
I am madly in love with Kind bars w/my morning coffee. I get the ones with high protein and low sugar counts. They are very filling and almost all nuts. My favs are peanut butter with dark chocolate and sea salt with dark chocolate. They are so quick, easy, filling and keep my sugar levels & hunger low!
Last Sunday we watched the first episode of season 1 of Poldark. Think it will be the first season repeated.
Happy weekend to you, sweet lady!! Love Saturday mornings with you, it always feels like you stopped by!! : )
Poldark is a mystery. Months ago I read Season 2 was going to start this Sunday night but our local station says it's sometime this fall. The BBC controls the rights supposably and they show it first in England and then the US gets it. I was all excited....oh well, all good things come to those who wait!!!!
I have stopped the cereal and opted for plain Greek yogurt, berries, sliced almonds and a drizzle of good honey. Fills me up for the morning.
I was going to write last time you mentioned Poldark, but I had seen your post a few days late. Poldark was originally going to air by now, but it was such a great success they decided to move it to the fall. While that stinks, it increases the chances that they will make more seasons and hopefully cover all of the books in the series. To fill the time, I have been reading all of Winston Graham's books and they are fantastic!
