Random thoughts on a cold almost Christmas morning:

1. Our annual caroling party is next week. It’s my favorite party of the year. I don’t think you have lived until you have stood in a living room with 50 people divided into 4 groups playing Christmas charades all at the same time.

Our house will be literally bursting at the seams with laughter and awkward pantomiming.

2. We are also starting a new tradition this year and having a neighborhood open house. Do you know all your neighbors? It’s good to know the people that live around you in case you need to borrow milk.

Or eggs.

3. Can we also talk about how much I love typing 2024? You know it’s going to be a good year when the numbers sound cute.

4. It was an amazing week on the blog. We talked about:

That was a lot for the week before Christmas.

I adore those wee tree's Courtney did and the Christmas Farmhouse post had great ideas. I'm not remotely ready for Christmas but I'm having fun anyway. LOL

Really great thistles this week, KA!!! I loved that north Canadian 1903 farmhouse all decked out for Christmas. No WONDER she was on the cover of Victoria magazine. Everything was swoon-n-Pin worthy!! Loved the pics of you in your cute new outfits. ♥ Your party sounds great! And I love that your neighborhood is having holiday Open House gatherings! That is so genius. Sadly, I have a perfect little cul-de-sac neighborhood that would be so perfect for that, but Covid lockdown sorta killed several marriages. There are 5 of us on my 8 on my short street and 4 of them are divorced now! I still can't even believe it. So we keep to ourselves. I'll continue to always give my cookie trays to everyone but things just aren't the same around here anymore. Sorry for the negatives, but it just sure makes me sad. Boy I cried so hard when I heart a couple of them were giving up. We were fairly close to two of the couples. I probably took it harder than they did! (Im a weeper, what can I say?) ANYWAY your parties sound like so much fun. Sure would be awesome to be one of your neighbors!!!! Hugs!!

Love the idea of an open house for the upcoming holidays. And charades is our go to game when the grandkids and everyone is here for pizza and gift giving on Christmas Eve. Love the mocktails recipe too! Big Hugs,

Love all the home tours...thinking we could take a hint of less is more from Scandia...and then I see those wall murals in the 2024 decorating trends and think, "Nope!" Thanks for the inspiration and keeping us pondering!

Saturdays are always more fun with Thistlekeeping. I'm wondering how the dogs posed so perfectly in the farmhouse tour. 🤣 The second featured Scandinavian home had me wanting to move (both were nice but that was my favorite). And I love the how-to-draw tutorial for the gingerbread house. Super cute.
