Random thoughts on a Saturday morning sprinkled with sunshine:
1. I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned it before—but I am all about Judge Judy.
I take a break and watch her every day at 4:00 pm. One of my goals this year was to sit in the audience of her show.
But I just found out that the people in the audience?
They are all actors.
Now I’m trying to figure out how I can become an actor, too.
2. A company that puts together tours just contacted me to host a tour with some of my readers.
What do you all think?
Is anyone interested in going on a trip with me? And if so—where should we go?
3. If you want a fun idea to cover your porch swing chains like I did in the first photo? You can see that DIY here.
4. It was an amazing week on the blog. I shared
- a full circle life moment
- the yard sale find of the century
- the 10 best things I’ve bought lately
- the most realistic houseplants
5. I watched FOOTBALL this week. It was only a pre-season game, but it was so good to listen to the announcers and know even more football was just around the corner.
WHEW.
It’s been a great week and it’s going to be an even more amazing weekend.
Here are all my fun finds from around the internet this week.
Look at these fruit notebooks.
What a perfect end-of-summer craft.
Doesn’t this look like the perfect summer salad?
Yes, please.
This beautiful outdoor table setting.
It’s so beautiful and simple all at the same time.
You can see the entire table setting here.
Here’s a post on how to make oatmeal soap.
Who knew making soap was so easy.
See the DIY here.

I found the cutest sweater that’s under $11 with this coupon (you won’t see the discount until you go to the checkout page) I think it would be so cute with jeans and a t-shirt for fall.
And one more for the road
If you are looking for a wreath that can take you from now until Christmas?
This drop cloth wreath is the one.
See how to make the wreath here.
Are you ready for fall?

If you do the tour thingy, I am in for sure! You know I would go anywhere with you but if there were cool antique or thrift stores along the way that would be extra special!!!!
This isn't the right time in my life to do a tour, but it sure sounds fun. Wow, you have an amazing lineup this week! I SO want to go to England and rent that cottage. Or maybe live there. The vintage runner is sigh-worthy. I like the look of bleached wood but can't decide if I would still like it enough 10 years from now to tackle a project like that. The sweater is darling, but I'm trying to control my impulse spending on clothing. And I tried melting crayons as a craft back when my kids were little--they turned out fine, but my house smelled like crayons for forever. Happy Saturday!
I think a trip to round top or brimfield or one of the fabulous flea markets would be amazing!
KariAnne I love that you watch Judge Judy. I LOVE Judge Judy. Now I would not want to be in front of her but she is a hoot! If I had more time these days I would jump at the chance to go! Can't wait to hear about your adventures!
Thank you for posting the cottage! I’m in love with British decorating.
Not ready for fall, don't want to think about fall. I want my Summer, I wait for it. I want to take it nice and slow and enjoy it. Like a good morning cup of coffee. Now on the other hand, love Judge Judy. And baked brie, yes please. Thanks for some wonderful reads. Happy Saturday.
Take a tour to someplace you know very well. Where else but Cape Cod!
Love the sweater! I HAD that same pillow from Walmart on the same kind of bench out front untill last week squirrel got to it ! She also tore out my weed block under the stones at my firepit! Must be making a nest. They are so destructive I guess I should of left the pillow sacrificed it but I didn't and then some flowers got dug out, picnic table legs are being eaten. Ahhh sorry went on a rant lol Love your ideals thanks!!
A tour? I'm definitely curious!
I would love to see your home, but probably too much work for YOU. Darn! It looks so lovely and in person Im sure ….gorgeous. Thanks, Karen
As always, I enjoyed your post of great ideas, crafts, recipes, etc. I especially loved that cottage! However, the twenty-five decorating trends for 2023 look more like designs for the 1980's. I thought most of them were hideous! I'd rather get ideas from people like you. Much classier and up to date! I can't travel at this time, but you would be a hoot to go on a trip with, if I could!
Thank you again for this great post. I don't know how you find the time but I am glad you do. Have a blessed weekend.
A tour... with you? Anyplace, anytime... With your books and your giggles and your thoughtfulness. Who could ask for more!!! Yes, please ⚘❤
I second the Cape Cod idea as we own a vacation place there! I could meet you there! Not there all that often now :( But you're going there on a reader's trip would get me back there for sure! Hmmmm.. I could also meet you on the "Gray Lady"!
Please count me in for Cape Cod, Round Top or NYC with Broadway shows!
I agree with the others!!! A vintage tour of the English countryside would be nice. But I love to travel and would go almost anyplace.
Yes to a tour! My top choices would be: Cornwall, England; Round Top; and Ireland.
ROUTE 66
YES! YES! YES! KariAnne! I really, really, really want to go on a tour with you -- anywhere! I know you will plan something fabulous! Count me in!
Great thistles this week, KA!!! I actually squealed out loud at that sweet very old Cottswold Cottage! I would love a trip to England with girls who love old cottages, tea houses, shopping and eating and sharing. So that could be a fun trip....or even - to be honest - I'd love to go with you to Waco and Magnolia and all that fun stuff there. My hubs would hate it and my girls are too busy to do it....but this Yank sure would!!!! ♥
Yes to a Thistlewood tour! Can we go to the Round Top antiques show? It would be amazing. Thanks for the links. I always love everything you share. Oh and that gilded coffee table 🤯.
Put me down to go on a trip with you :) one month in Tuscany is what I'm suggesting! xoxo
I adored the Cotswold's cottage!!! Maybe that's where we should go on the tour??! xoxo
Love this idea packed blog!! Oh yea, I'd love an affordable trip with you as our guide..I'd follow you anywhere! I love to travel
I can't believe the audience members are actors. That is wild! I just started watching Suits and it's making me look at courtrooms and attorneys in a completely different way :) Thanks so much for sharing my peach brie recipe. I'm a total disaster in the kitchen but it was super simple and definitely beginner friendly. Big hugs, CoCo
